Stability of spinorial Sobolev inequalities on $\mathbb{S}^n$

The spinorial Sobolev inequality on the unit sphere states \begin{equation*} \Big(\int| Dψ|^{\frac{2n}{n+1}}\Big)^{\frac{n+1}{n}}-\frac{n}{2}ω_{n}^{1/n}\int\langle Dψ,ψ\rangle \geq 0, \end{equation*} with equality if and only if $ψ\in {\mathcal M}$, the set of all $-\frac 12$-Killing spinors and their conformal transformations. Our main result in this paper is to refine this inequality by establishing a stability inequality \begin{equation*} \Big(\int| Dψ|^{\frac{2n}{n+1}}\Big)^{\frac{n+1}{n}}-\frac{n}{2}ω_{n}^{1/n}\int\langle Dψ,ψ\rangle \geq {\bf c}_S\inf_{ϕ\in\mathcal{M}}\Big(\int| D(ψ-ϕ)|^{\frac{2n}{n+1}}\Big)^{\frac{n+1}{n}}. \end{equation*} As a by-product of our argument, we show that elements in set $\mathcal M$ are not optimizers of another spinorial Sobolev inequality \begin{equation*} \Big(\int| Dψ|^{\frac{2n}{n+1}}\Big)^{\frac{n+1}{n}} \geq C_S \Big(\int|ψ|^{\frac{2n}{n-1}}\Big)^{\frac{n-1}{n}}, \end{equation*} unlike expected by experts. They have in fact index $n+1$ and nullity $2^{[\frac n2]+2}$.

Half-space Liouville-type theorems for minimal graphs with capillary boundary

In this paper, we prove two Liouville-type theorems for capillary minimal graph over $\mathbb{R}^n_+$. First, if $u$ has linear growth, then for $n=2,3$ and for any $θ\in(0,π)$, or $n\geq4$ and $θ\in(\fracπ6,\frac{5π}6)$, $u$ must be flat. Second, if $u$ is one-sided bounded on $\mathbb{R}^n_+$, then for any $n$ and $θ\in(0,π)$, $u$ must be flat. The proofs build upon gradient estimates for the mean curvature equation over $\mathbb{R}^n_+$ with capillary boundary condition, which are based on carefully adapting the maximum principle to the capillary setting.

The capillary Gauss curvature flow

In this article, we first introduce a Gauss curvature type flow for capillary hypersurfaces, which we call capillary Gauss curvature flow. We then show that the flow will shrink to a point in finite time. This is a capillary counterpart (or Robin boundary counterpart) of Firey's problem studied in [Mathematika 21 (1974), pp. 1-11] and Tso [Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 38 (1985), no. 6, 867-882]. Finally, we prove that its normalized flow converges to a soliton. This is a capillary counterpart of the result of Guan and Ni in [J. Eur. Math. Soc. 19 (2017), no. 12, 3735-3761]. The classification of solitons remains an open conjecture.

Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities for convex hypersurfaces in the half-space with capillary boundary II

In this paper, we provide an affirmative answer to [16, Conjecture 1.5] on the Alexandrov-Fenchel inequality for quermassintegrals for convex capillary hypersurfaces in the Euclidean half-space. More generally, we establish a theory for capillary convex bodies in the half-space and prove a general Alexandrov-Fenchel inequality for mixed volumes of capillary convex bodies. The conjecture [16, Conjecture 1.5] follows as its consequence.

Convex capillary hypersurfaces of prescribed curvature problem

In this paper, we study the prescribed $k$-th Weingarten curvature problem for convex capillary hypersurfaces in $\overline{\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_+}$. This problem naturally extends the prescribed $k$-th Weingarten curvature problem for closed convex hypersurfaces, previously investigated by Guan-Guan in [19], to the capillary setting. We reformulate the problem as the solvability of a Hessian quotient equation with a Robin boundary condition on a spherical cap. Under a natural sufficient condition, we establish the existence of a strictly convex capillary hypersurface with the prescribed $k$-th Weingarten curvature. This also extends our recent work on the capillary Minkowski problem in [40].

Varifolds with capillary boundary

In this paper we introduce and study a new class of varifolds in $\mathbf{R}^{n+1}$ of arbitrary dimensions and co-dimensions, which satisfy a Neumann-type boundary condition characterizing capillarity. The key idea is to introduce a Radon measure on a subspace of the trivial Grassmannian bundle over the supporting hypersurface as a generalized boundary with prescribed angle, which plays a role as a measure-theoretic capillary boundary. We show several structural properties, monotonicity inequality, boundary rectifiability, classification of tangent cones, and integral compactness for such varifolds under reasonable conditions. This Neumann-type boundary condition fits very well in the context of curvature varifold and Brakke flow, which we also discuss.

Willmore-type inequality in unbounded convex sets

In this paper we prove the following Willmore-type inequality: On an unbounded closed convex set $K\subset\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ $(n\ge 2)$, for any embedded hypersurface $Σ\subset K$ with boundary $\partialΣ\subset \partial K$ satisfying a certain contact angle condition, there holds $$\frac1{n+1}\int_Σ\vert{H}\vert^n{\rm d}A\ge{\rm AVR}(K)\vert\mathbb{B}^{n+1}\vert.$$ Moreover, equality holds if and only if $Σ$ is a part of a sphere and $K\setminusΩ$ is a part of the solid cone determined by $Σ$. Here $Ω$ is the bounded domain enclosed by $Σ$ and $\partial K$, $H$ is the normalized mean curvature of $Σ$, and ${\rm AVR}(K)$ is the asymptotic volume ratio of $K$. We also prove an anisotropic version of this Willmore-type inequality. As a special case, we obtain a Willmore-type inequality for anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces in a half-space.

The Logarithmic Sobolev inequality on non-compact self-shrinkers

In the paper we establish an optimal logarithmic Sobolev inequality for complete, non-compact, properly embedded self-shrinkers in the Euclidean space, which generalizes a recent result of Brendle \cite{Brendle22} for closed self-shrinkers. We first provide a proof for the logarithmic Sobolev inequality in the Euclidean space by using the Alexandrov-Bakelman-Pucci (ABP) method. Then we use this approach to show an optimal logarithmic Sobolev inequality for complete, non-compact, properly embedded self-shrinkers in the Euclidean space, which is a sharp version of the result of Ecker in \cite{Ecker}. The proof is a noncompact modification of Brendle's proof for closed submanifolds and has a big potential to provide new inequalities in noncompact manifolds.

Monotonicity Formulas for Capillary Surfaces

In this paper, we establish monotonicity formulas for capillary surfaces in the half-space $\mathbb{R}^3_+$ and in the unit ball $\mathbb{B}^3$ and extend the result of Volkmann (Comm. Anal. Geom.24(2016), no.1, 195~221. \href{https://doi.org/10.4310/CAG.2016.v24.n1.a7}{https://doi.org/10.4310/CAG.2016.v24.n1.a7}) for surfaces with free boundary. As applications, we obtain Li-Yau-type inequalities for the Willmore energy of capillary surfaces, and extend Fraser-Schoen's optimal area estimate for minimal free boundary surfaces in $\mathbb{B}^3$ (Adv. Math.226(2011), no.5, 4011~4030. \href{https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aim.2010.11.007}{https://doi.org/10.1016/j.aim.2010.11.007}) to the capillary setting, which is different to another optimal area estimate proved by Brendle (Ann. Fac. Sci. Toulouse Math. (6)32(2023), no.1, 179~201. \href{https://doi.org/10.5802/afst.1734}{https://doi.org/10.5802/afst.1734}).

Prescribed $L_p$ quotient curvature problem and related eigenvalue problem

In this paper, we investigate the existence of admissible (and strictly convex) smooth solutions to the prescribed $L_p$ quotient type curvature problem with $p>1$. For cases where $p=k-l+1$ and $p> k-l+1$, we obtain an admissible solution without any additional conditions, which is strictly spherically convex under a convexity condition. Under the same convexity condition, we establish the existence of a strictly spherically convex solution for the case $p<k-l+1$, provided that the prescribed function is even, a condition known to be necessary.

A Minkowski-type inequality for capillary hypersurfaces in a half-space

In this article, we investigate a flow of inverse mean curvature type for capillary hypersurfaces in the half-space. We establish the global existence of solutions for this flow and demonstrate that it converges smoothly to a spherical cap as time tends to infinity. As a result, we derive a new Minkowski-type inequality for star-shaped and mean convex capillary hypersurfaces for the whole range of contact angle $θ\in (0,π)$.

The relative isoperimetric inequality for minimal submanifolds with free boundary in the Euclidean space

In this paper, we mainly consider the relative isoperimetric inequalities for minimal submanifolds with free boundary. We first generalize ideas of restricted normal cones introduced by Choe-Ghomi-Ritoré in \cite{CGR06} and obtain an optimal area estimate for generalized restricted normal cones. This area estimate, together with the ABP method of Cabré in \cite{Cabre2008}, provides a new proof of the relative isoperimetric inequality obtained by Choe-Ghomi-Ritoré in \cite{CGR07}. Furthermore, we use this estimate and the idea of Brendle in his recent work \cite{Brendle2019} to obtain a relative isoperimetric inequality for minimal submanifolds with free boundary on a convex support surface in $\mathbb{R}^{n+m}$, which is optimal and gives an affirmative answer to an open problem proposed by Choe in \cite{Choe2005}, Open Problem 12.6, when the codimension $m\leq 2$.

Capillary hypersurfaces, Heintze-Karcher's inequality and Zermelo's navigation

In this paper, we establish a Heintze-Karcher-type inequality for capillary hypersurfaces in a unit ball. To achieve this, we introduce a special Finsler metric given by Zermelo's navigation and study the geodesic normal flow with respect to this Finsler metric. Our results indicate that the relationship between capillary hypersufaces and hypersurfaces with free boundary is similar to the one between Finsler geometry and Riemannian geometry.

Heintze-Karcher inequality and capillary hypersurfaces in a wedge

In this paper, we utilize the method of Heintze-Karcher to prove a "best" version of Heintze-Karcher-type inequality for capillary hypersurfaces in the half-space or in a wedge. One of new crucial ingredients in the proof is modified parallel hypersurfaces which are very natural to be used to study capillary hypersurfaces. A more technical part is a subtle analysis along the edge of a wedge. As an application, we classify completely embedded capillary constant mean curvature hypersurfaces that hit the edge in a wedge, which is a subtler case.

A constrained mean curvature flow and Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities

In this article, we study a locally constrained mean curvature flow for star-shaped hypersurfaces with capillary boundary in the half-space. We prove its long-time existence and the global convergence to a spherical cap. Furthermore, the capillary quermassintegrals defined in \cite{WWX2022} evolve monotonically along the flow, and hence we establish a class of new Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities for convex hypersurfaces with capillary boundary in the half-space.

Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities for convex hypersurfaces in the half-space with capillary boundary

In this paper, we first introduce quermassintegrals for capillary hypersurfaces in the half-space. Then we solve the related isoperimetric type problems for the convex capillary hypersurfaces and obtain the corresponding Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities. In order to prove these results, we construct a new locally constrained curvature flow and prove that the flow converges globally to a spherical cap.

Alexandrov's theorem for anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces in the half-space

In this paper, we show that any embedded capillary hypersurface in the half-space with anisotropic constant mean curvature is a truncated Wulff shape. This extends Wente's result \cite{Wente80} to the anisotropic case and He-Li-Ma-Ge's result \cite{HLMG09} to the capillary boundary case. The main ingredients in the proof are a new Heintze-Karcher inequality and a new Minkowski formula, which have their own inetrest.
