Quasinormal modes of quantum-corrected black holes

In this paper, we investigate the quasinormal mode (QNM) spectra for scalar perturbation over a quantum-corrected black hole (BH). The fundamental modes of this quantum-corrected BH exhibit two key properties. Firstly, there is a non-monotonic behavior concerning the quantum-corrected parameter for zero multipole number. Secondly, the quantum gravity effects result in slower decay modes. For higher overtones, a significant deviation becomes evident between the quasinormal frequencies (QNFs) of the quantum-corrected and Schwarzschild BHs. The intervention of quantum gravity corrections induces a significant outburst of overtones. This outburst of these overtones can be attributed to the distinctions near the event horizons between the Schwarzschild and quantum-corrected BHs. Therefore, overtones can serve as a means to probe physical phenomena or disparities in the vicinity of the event horizon.

Peculiar properties in quasi-normal spectra from loop quantum gravity effect

We investigate the quasi-normal mode (QNM) spectra for scalar and electromagnetic fields over a covairant loop quantum gravity black hole (LQG-BH). For the fundamental modes, the LQG effect reduces the oscillations in the scalar field, however it induces stronger oscillations in the electromagnetic field, comparing to the classical case. Under the scalar field perturbation, the system enjoys faster decaying modes with more oscillations than the electromagnetic field. Some peculiar phenomena emerge in the QNM spectra with higher overtones. A notable feature is the substantial divergence observed in the first several overtones from their Schwarzschild counterparts, with this discrepancy magnifying as the overtone number increases. Another remarkable phenomenon in higher overtones is that the QNFs of the scalar field with $l=0$ exhibit an oscillatory behavior as the quantum parameter $r_0$ increases significantly. These oscillations intensify with the rising overtone number. We hypothesize that this oscillatory pattern may be associated with the extremal effect.

Diagnosing quantum phase transition via holographic entanglement entropy at finite temperature

We investigate the behavior of the holographic entanglement entropy (HEE) in proximity to the quantum critical points (QCPs) of the metal-insulator transition (MIT) in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axions (EMDA) model. Since both the metallic phase and the insulating phase are characterized by distinct IR geometries, we used to expect that the HEE itself characterizes the QCPs. This expectation is validated for certain cases, however, we make a noteworthy observation: for a specific scenario where $-1<γ\leq -1/3$, with $γ$ as a coupling parameter, it is not the HEE itself but rather the second-order derivative of HEE with respect to the lattice wave number that effectively characterizes quantum phase transitions (QPTs). This distinction arises due to the influence of thermal effects. These findings present novel insights into the interplay between HEE and QPTs in the context of the MIT, and have significant implications for studying QPTs at finite temperatures.

Transport properties in the Horndeski holographic two-currents model

The transport features of the holographic two-currents model are investigated in the Horndeski gravity framework. This system displays metallic or insulating characteristics depending on whether the Horndeski coupling parameter $γ$ is negative or positive, but is unaffected by other system parameters such as the strength of the momentum dissipation $\hat{k}$, the doping $χ$ and the coupling between two gauge fields $θ$. Secondly, we demonstrate that the thermal conductivities are affected not only by the inherent properties of the black hole, but also by the model parameters. Furthermore, we are particularly interested in the Lorentz ratios' properties. As expected, the Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law is violated, as it is in the majority of holographic systems. Particularly intriguing is the fact that several Lorentz ratio bounds reported in the typical axions model still remain true in our current theories. We would like to highlight out, however, that the lower bound for $\hat{\bar{L}}_A$ is affected by the system parameters $χ$, $θ$ and $γ$, which differs from the case of the typical axions model.

Charge transport properties in a novel holographic quantum phase transition model

We investigate the features of charge transport in a novel holographic quantum phase transition (QPT) model with two metallic phases: normal metallic and novel metallic. The scaling behaviors of direct current (DC) resistivity and thermal conductivity at low temperatures in both metallic phases are numerically computed. The numerical results and the analytical ones governed by the near horizon geometry agree perfectly. Then, the features of low-frequency alternating current (AC) electric conductivity are systematically investigated. A remarkable characteristic is that the normal metallic phase is a coherent system, whereas the novel metallic phase is an incoherent system with non-vanishing intrinsic conductivity. Especially, in the novel metallic phase, the incoherent behavior becomes stronger when the strength of the momentum dissipation enhances.

Quasinormal modes and Hawking radiation of a charged Weyl black hole

We investigate the scalar field system over a charged Weyl black hole, depicted by a parameter $λ$. It is found that the imaginary part of the quasinormal mode spectra is always negative and the perturbation does not increase with the time, indicating that the system is stable under scalar field perturbation. Furthermore, the quasinormal mode spectra and Hawking radiation exhibit a qualitatively similar characteristic in that they both rise with rising $λ$ and approach a constant when $λ$ is large enough. Especially, we would like to emphasize that an exponential decay obviously emerges in the phase of the ringing tail as $λ$ increases. It indicates that the characteristic parameter $λ$ has an obvious imprint on the ringing tail, which is expected to be detected by future observations.

Instability of de-Sitter black hole with massive scalar field coupled to Gauss-Bonnet invariant and the scalarized black holes

The black hole scalarization in a special Einstein-scalar-Gauss-Bonnet (EsGB) gravity has been widely investigated in recent years. Especially, the spontaneous scalarization of scalar-free black hole in de-Sitter (dS) spacetime possesses interesting features due to the existence of cosmological horizon. In this work, firstly, we focus on the massive scalar field perturbation on Schwarzschild dS (SdS) black hole in a special EsGB theory. By analyzing the fundamental QNM frequency and time evolution of the scalar field perturbation, we figure out the unstable/stable regions in $(Λ,α)$-plane as well as in $(m,α)$-plane for various perturbation modes, where $Λ$, $α$ and $m$ denote the cosmological constant, the GB coupling strength and the mass of scalar field, respectively. Then by solving the static perturbation equation, we analyze the bifurcation point at which the SdS black hole supports spherical scalar clouds, and we find that the bifurcation points match well with $α_c$ on the border of unstable/stable region. Finally, after addressing that the scalarised solutions could only emerge from the scalar could with node $k\geq 1$. we explicitly construct the scalarized hairy solutions for different scalar masses and compare the profile of scalar field to the corresponding scalar clouds.

A novel holographic quantum phase transition and butterfly velocity

In this paper, we make a systematical and in-depth exploration on the phase structure and the behaviors of butterfly velocity in an Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton-axions (EMDA) model. Depending on the model parameter, there are two kinds of mechanisms driving quantum phase transition (QPT) in this model. One is the infrared (IR) geometry to be renormalization group (RG) unstable, and the other is the strength of lattice deformation leading to some kind of bifurcating solution. We also find a novel QPT in the metal phases. The study on the behavior of the butterfly velocity crossing QPT indicates that the butterfly velocity or its first derivative exhibiting local extreme depends on the QPT mechanism. Further, the scaling behaviors of the butterfly velocity in the zero-temperature limit confirm that different phases are controlled by different IR geometries. Therefore, the butterfly velocity is a good probe to QPT and it also provides a possible way to study QPT beyond holography.

Transport properties of a $3$-dimensional holographic effective theory with gauge-axion coupling

In this paper, we implement a $3$-dimensional holographic effective theory with gauge-axion coupling. The analytical black hole solution is worked out. We investigate the Direct current (DC) thermoelectric conductivities. A novel property is that DC electric conductivity for vanishing gauge-axion coupling is temperature dependent. It is different from that of $4$-dimensional axion model whose DC electric conductivity is temperature independent. In addition, the gauge-axion coupling induces a metal insulator transition (MIT) at zero temperature. The properties of other DC thermoelectric conductivities are also discussed. Moreover we find that the Wiedemann-Franz (WF) law is violated in our model.

Chaotic dynamics of string around the conformal black hole

In this paper, we make a systematical and in-depth study on the chaotic dynamics of the string around the conformal black hole. Depending on the characteristic parameter of the conformal black hole and the initial position of the string, there are three kinds of dynamical behaviors: ordered, chaotic and being captured, chaotic but not being captured. A particular interesting observation is that there is a sharp transition in chaotic dynamics when the black hole horizon disappears, which is indepent of the initial position of the string. It provides a possible way to probe the horizon structure of the massive body. We also examine the generalized MSS (Maldacena, Shenker and Stanford) inequality, which is proposed in holographic dual field theory, and find that the generalized MSS inequality holds even in the asymptotically flat black hole background. Especially, as the initial position of the string approaches the black hole horizon, the Lyapunov exponent also approaches the upper bound of the generalized MSS inequality.

Informational properties of holographic Lifshitz field theory

In this paper, we explore the properties of holographic entanglement entropy (HEE), mutual information (MI) and entanglement of purification (EoP) in holographic Lifshitz theory. These informational quantities exhibit some universal properties of holographic dual field theory. For most configuration parameters and temperatures, these informational quantities change monotonously with the Lifshitz dynamical critical exponent $z$. However, we also observe some non-monotonic behaviors for these informational quantities in some specific spaces of configuration parameters and temperatures. A particularly interesting phenomenon is that a dome-shaped diagram emerges in the behavior of MI vs $z$, and correspondingly a trapezoid-shaped profile appears in that of EoP vs $z$. This means that for some specific configuration parameters and temperatures, the system measured in terms of MI and EoP is entangled only in a certain intermediate range of $z$.

Holographic p-wave superconductivity from higher derivative theory

We construct a holographic SU(2) p-wave superconductor model with Weyl corrections. The high derivative (HD) terms do not seem to spoil the generation of the p-wave superconducting phase. We mainly study the properties of AC conductivity, which is absent in holographic SU(2) p-wave superconductor with Weyl corrections. The conductivities in superconducting phase exhibit obvious anisotropic behaviors. Along $y$ direction, the conductivity $σ_{yy}$ is similar to that of holographic s-wave superconductor. The superconducting energy gap exhibits a wide extension. For the conductivity $σ_{xx}$ along $x$ direction, the behaviors of the real part in the normal state are closely similar to that of $σ_{yy}$. However, the anisotropy of the conductivity obviously shows up in the superconducting phase. A Drude-like peak at low frequency emerges in $Reσ_{xx}$ once the system enters into the superconducting phase, regardless of the behaviors in normal state.

Holograhic two-currents model with coupling and its conductivites

We implement a holographic gravity model of two gauge fields with a coupling between them, which is dual to a two-currents model. An analytical black brane solution is obtained. In particular, we work out the expressions of conductivities with coupling and find that the expressions of conductivities are directly related to the coupling parameter $θ$. It is the main topic of our present work. As an application, we calculate the conductivities by the scheme outlined here and briefly discuss the properties of the conductivities. An interesting property is that as the coupling $θ$ increases, the dip at low frequency in $Re[σ_A]$/$Re[σ_B]$ becomes deepening and then turns into a hard-gap-like when $θ=1$, which is independent of the doping $χ$. Some monotonic behaviors of the conductivities are also discussed.

Informational properties for Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton Gravity

We study the information quantities, including the holographic entanglement entropy (HEE), mutual information (MI) and entanglement of purification (EoP), over Gubser-Rocha model. The remarkable property of this model is the zero entropy density at ground state, in term of which we expect to extract novel, even singular informational properties in zero temperature limit. Surprisedly, we do not observe any singular behavior of entanglement-related physical quantities under the zero temperature limit. Nevertheless, we find a peculiar property from Gubser-Rocha model that in low temperature region, the HEE decreases with the increase of temperature, which is contrary to that in most holographic models. We argue that this novel phenomenon is brought by the singular property of the zero temperature limit, of which the analytical verification is present. In addition, we also compare the features of the information quantities in Gubser-Rocha model with those in Reissner-Nordstrom Anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole model. It is shown that the HEE and MI of Gubser-Rocha model are always larger than those of RN-AdS model, while the EoP behaves in an opposite way. Our results indicate that MI and EoP could have different abilities in describing mixed state entanglement.

Analytical study of the holographic superconductor from higher derivative theory

In this paper, we analytically study the holographic superconductor models with the high derivative (HD) coupling terms. Using the Sturm-Liouville (SL) eigenvalue method, we perturbatively calculate the critical temperature. The analytical results are in good agreement with the numerical results. It confirms that the perturbative method in terms of the HD coupling parameters is available. Along the same line, we analytically calculate the value of the condensation near the critical temperature. We find that the phase transition is second order with mean field behavior, which is independent of the HD coupling parameters. Then in the low temperature limit, we also calculate the conductivity, which is qualitatively consistent with the numerical one. We find that the superconducting energy gap is proportional to the value of the condensation. But we note that since the condensation changes with the HD coupling parameters, as the function of the HD coupling parameters, the superconducting energy gap follows the same change trend as that of the condensation.

Doped holographic fermionic system

We construct a two-current model. It includes two gauge fields, which introduce the doping effect, and a neutral scalar field. And then we numerically construct an AdS black brane geometry with scalar hair. Over this background, we study the fermionic system with the pseudoscalar Yukawa coupling. Some universal properties from the pseudoscalar Yukawa coupling are revealed. In particular, as the coupling increases, there is a transfer of the spectral weight from the low energy band to the high energy band. The transfer is over low energy scales but not over all energy scales. The peculiar properties are also explored. The study shows that with the increase of the doping, the gap opens more difficult. It indicates that there is a competition between the pseudoscalar Yukawa coupling and the doping.

Chaotic dynamics of string around charged black brane with hyperscaling violation

By fast Lyapunov indicator (FLI), we study the chaotic dynamics of closed string around charged black brane with hyperscaling violation (HV). The Hawking temperature, Lifshitz dynamical exponent and HV exponent together affect the chaotic dynamics of this system. The temperature plays the role of driving the closed string to escape to infinity. There is a threshold value $z_{\ast}=2$, below which the string is captured by the black brane no matter where the string is placed at the beginning. However, when $z>2$, the string escapes to infinity if it is placed near the black brane at the beginning, but if the initial position of string is far away from the black brane, it oscillates around the black brane till eternity, which is a quasi-periodic motion. HV exponent plays the role of driving the string falling into the black brane. With the increase of HV exponent $θ$, the falling velocity becomes faster. We find that when we heat the system with large HV exponent, the chaotic system does not essentially changes. It indicates that the HV exponent plays a very important role in determining the state of the chaotic system. Also we study the the effect from the winding number of the string. The study indicates that the chaotic dynamics of the string is insensitive to the winding number.

Higher derivatives driven symmetry breaking in holographic superconductors

In this paper, we construct a novel holographic superconductor from higher derivative (HD) gravity involving a coupling between the complex scalar field and the Weyl tensor. This HD coupling term provides a near horizon effective mass squared, which can violates IR Breitenlohner-Freedman (BF) bound by tuning the HD coupling and induces the instability of black brane such that the superconducting phase transition happens. We also study the properties of the condensation and the conductivity in the probe limit. We find that a wider extension of the superconducting energy gap ranging from 4.6 to 10.5 may provide a novel platform to model and interpret the phenomena in the real materials of high temperature superconductor.
