Can Hawking effect of multipartite state protect quantum resources in Schwarzschild black hole?

Most previous studies on relativistic quantum information have primarily focused on the vacuum state $|0\rangle$ and the first excited state $|1\rangle$ in two-mode entangled systems. In this work, we go beyond these limitations by considering arbitrary $q$-th excited states $|q\rangle$, aiming to investigate their role in preserving quantum resources. We analyze the influence of the Hawking effect on multipartite quantum states in the Schwarzschild spacetime, with particular attention to quantum entanglement and coherence. Our results show that, under the influence of the Hawking effect, increasing the excitation number $q$ leads to a reduction in quantum entanglement and mutual information, while enhancing quantum coherence. This indicates that the Hawking effect on excited multipartite states tends to degrade quantum correlations but simultaneously protects quantum coherence in curved spacetime. Therefore, when implementing quantum information protocols in gravitational settings, reducing the excitation number $q$ is favorable for maintaining entanglement, whereas increasing $q$ may be advantageous for tasks that rely on quantum coherence in relativistic quantum information processing.

Velocity effects slightly mitigating the quantumness degradation of an Unruh-DeWitt detector

In this work, we investigate the velocity effects on information degradation due to the Unruh effect in accelerated quantum systems (with finite interaction time). We consider a detector moving along a spatial trajectory within a two-dimensional plane. The quantum systems studied were: accelerated single-qubit, quantum interferometric circuit, and which-path distinguishability circuit. Thus, for non-relativistic velocity regime, we obtained analytical expressions such as transition rates, quantum coherence, visibility, distinguishability, and the complementarity relation. On the other hand, for the ultra-relativistic velocity regime, we saw that the Unruh effect is suppressed and therefore the detector does not respond in this case. Our findings revealed that velocity effects imply mitigation of information degradation, this interesting behaviors happen because of the composite effect of both velocity and acceleration. The results obtained show that the addition of the non-relativistic, transverse and constant motion of an accelerated detector can play a protective role in quantumness in systems at high accelerations, although the effects are very small.

Transition rates and their applications in accelerated single-qubit for fermionic spinor field coupling

In this work, we investigate the interaction between a uniformly accelerated single qubit and a fermionic spinor field. Here we consider both the massless and the massive fermionic spinor fields. The qubit-field interaction occurs over a finite time and was evolved via perturbation theory. This approach yields the transition probability rates, from which we subsequently evaluate the quantum coherence of an Unruh-DeWitt (UDW) detector initially prepared in a qubit state. Our findings reveal that the UDW detector responds more when coupled with the fermionic field, and consequently, quantum coherence (for the fermionic case) degrades much more rapidly when compared to the case of the qubit linearly coupled with the scalar field. Moreover, the analysis suggests that particle mass plays a protective role against Unruh-induced decoherence as the rest mass energy becomes comparable to the detector's energy-level spacing, the detector's excitation probability and response decreases, which leads to the mitigation of quantum coherence degradation in accelerated quantum systems.

Exact infrared scaling behavior of Randers-Finsler scalar field theories

We study the scaling behavior of Randers-Finsler massless scalar field theories in the infrared regime. For that, we compute analytically the radiative corrections to the corresponding anomalous dimensions, related to the critical exponents of the theory, first up to next-to-leading loop order and later for all-loop levels. We consider the effect of the Randers-Finsler space-time properties on the critical exponents by considering the parameter characterizing those space-times in its exact form. We employ field-theoretic renormalization group and $ε$-expansion techniques at dimensions $d = 4 - ε$ through three distinct and independent methods. At the end, we furnish the physical interpretation of the obtained results.

On the information behavior from quadratically coupled accelerated detectors

In this work, we propose to investigate the information behavior of quantum systems through accelerated detectors quadratically coupled with a massless scalar field. In addition, we made detailed comparisons with the case of linear coupling. The perturbative method was used to evolve the density matrix that describes the interaction of the detector-field system during a finite time. The systems studied were: accelerated single-qubit, quantum interferometric circuit, and the which-path distinguishability circuit. The results on the probability transition rates show that quadratic coupling amplifies the Unruh effect. This is due to the modification of the interaction structure, allowing the simultaneous absorption of multiple quanta. Our findings showed that the information is degraded more quickly in the case of quadratic coupling, when compared to the linear case. Furthermore, this change is mainly given by the coupling constant and by an additional factor that arises in the case of quadratic coupling. Therefore, these results indicate that the nature of the coupling between the detector and the field plays a fundamental role in the behavior of quantum information in high acceleration regimes.

Mitigating the information degradation in a massive Unruh-DeWitt theory

We investigated the influence of the massive scalar field on the information degradation concerning the Unruh-DeWitt (UDW) detectors. In this conjecture, we adopted a system with a finite and large interaction time. To accomplish our purpose, one examines the quantum coherence of a uniformly accelerated qubit and the probability of finding the detector in the ground state. In this framework, we consider a quantum interferometric circuit to obtain the probability, visibility, and coherence. Naturally, these measurements provide us with wave-like information. Besides, one modifies the circuit to describe the path distinguishability and the particle-like information. These results are promising, as they allow us to understand the influence of the Unruh effect on the wave-particle duality. Thus, our findings announce that the increase in the scalar field mass induces a decrease in information degradation. Finally, we noted that the information concerning the Unruh effect remains preserved when $m \geq Ω$. Therefore, the detector cannot absorb particles with mass equal to or greater than its energy gap. These results indicate that the scalar field mass is a protective factor against information degradation for systems under high acceleration conditions.

Squeezing as a probe of the universality hypothesis

We compute analytically the radiative quantum corrections, up to next-to-leading loop order, to the universal critical exponents for both massless and massive O($N$) $λϕ^{4}$ scalar squeezed field theories for probing the universality hypothesis. For that, we employ six distinct and independent methods. The outcomes for the universal squeezed critical exponents obtained through these methods are identical among them and reduce to the conventional ones where squeezing is absent. Although the squeezing mechanism modifies the internal properties of the field, the squeezed critical indices are not affected by the squeezing effect, thus implying the validity of the universality hypothesis, at least at the loop level considered. At the end, we present the corresponding physical interpretation for the results in terms of the geometric symmetry properties of the squeezed field.

Parameter estimation in an anisotropic expanding spacetime

In this work, we investigate how the anisotropy affects the cosmological parameters estimation. Here the anisotropy is incorporated as a small gravitational disturbance. We calculate the Fisher information for both cosmological parameters $ε$ (expansion volume) and $ρ$ (expansion rate), and we show that the anisotropy introduces oscillations in the Fisher information spectrum. This implies that the estimation of the cosmological parameters is sensible to the direction of the momentum $k$ of particles. In addition, we observe that for small values of the momentum $k$ there is a substantial difference between the Fisher information spectrum for the minimum and conformal couplings.

Temperature estimation of an entangled pair of trapped ions

We apply estimation theory to a system formed by two interacting trapped ions. By using the Fisher matrix formalism, we introduce a simple scheme for estimation of the temperature of the longitudinal vibrational modes of the ions. We use the ions interaction to effectively infer the temperature of the individual ions, by optimising the interaction time evolution and by measuring only over one of the ions. We also investigate the effect of a non-thermal reservoir over the inference approach. The non-classicality of one of the ions vibrational modes, introduced due to a squeezed thermal reservoir, improves the indirect inference of the individual temperatures.

Diffeomorphism symmetry effect on the O(N ) universality class

We probe the effect of diffeomorphism symmetry on the critical exponents values for massive O($N$) $λϕ^{4}$ scalar field theories in curved spacetime. We apply field-theoretic renormalization group tools, where we use only momentum coordinates as opposed to the earlier standard procedure with both space and momentum coordinates, for computing analytically the critical exponents up to three-loop order for one of them and up to two-loop level for the remaining ones. We found that the curved spacetime critical exponents are the same as their flat spacetime counterparts, at least up to the level considered. At the conclusions we present the physical interpretation for the results.

Influence of conformal symmetry on the amplitude ratios for O($N$) models

In this Letter we compute analytically the effect of conformal symmetry on the radiative corrections to the amplitude ratios for O($N$) $λϕ^{4}$ massless scalar field theories in curved spacetime for probing the two-scale-factor universality hypothesis. For that we employ three distinct and independent field-theoretic renormalization group methods. The amplitude ratios values obtained are identical when computed through the three distinct methods, thus showing their universal character. Furthermore, they are the same as that obtained in flat spacetime, then satisfying the two-scale-factor universality hypothesis.

NLO critical exponents of O($N$) lambda $ϕ^{4}$ scalar field theories in curved spacetime

In this paper we investigate analytically the conformal symmetry influence on the next-to-leading order radiative quantum corrections to critical exponents for massless O($N$) $λϕ^{4}$ scalar field theories in curved spacetime. We renormalize the theory by applying the BPHZ method. We find that the critical exponents are the same as that of flat spacetime, at least at the loop order considered. We argue that this result agrees perfectly with the universality hypothesis.

Measuring a QED cross section via a witness particle

We consider a QED scattering ($AB\rightarrow AB$), in which $B$ is initially entangled with a third particle ($C$) that does not participate directly in the scattering. The effect of the scattering over $C$'s final state is evaluated and we note coherence (off-diagonal) terms are created, which lead to non null values for $\langle σ_x\rangle$ and $\langle σ_y\rangle$ that are, in principle, measurable in a Stern-Gerlach apparatus. We chose a particular QED scattering ($e^+e^-\rightarrowμ^+μ^-$) and found that $\langle σ_x\rangle$ and $\langle σ_y\rangle$ are proportional to the total cross section ($σ_{\text{total}}$) of the $AB$ scattering, besides being maximal if $BC$'s initial state is taken as a Bell basis. Furthermore, we calculated the initial and final mutual informations $I_{AC}$ and $I_{BC}$, and noticed an increase (decrease) in $I_{AC}$ ($I_{BC}$), which indicates that, after $AB$ interact, the total amount of correlations (quantum $+$ classical) are distributed among the $3$ subsystems.

Interacting fermions in an expanding spacetime

We evaluate the effect of quantum electrodynamics on the correlations between Dirac field modes corresponding electron-positron pairs of opposite momenta generated by expansion of an asymptotically flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) universe. The mutual information of out-going electron-positron pairs is evaluated to leading order in the coupling strength and compared with the free case. It is shown a decrease in the mutual information between the electron and positron. In addition, it is found that the change in the electron-positron mutual information depends on how the momentum is distributed between the positron and photon modes.

Parameter estimation for a Lorentz invariance violation

We employ techniques from quantum estimation theory (QET) to estimate the Lorentz violation parameters in the 1+3-dimensional flat spacetime. We obtain and discuss the expression of the quantum Fisher information (QFI) in terms of the Lorentz violation parameter $σ_0$ and the momentum k of the created particles. We show that the maximum QFI is achieved for a specific momentum $k_{\mathrm{max}}$. We also find that the optimal precision of estimation of the Lorentz violation parameter is obtained near the Planck scale.
