Unified Pati-Salam from Noncommutative Geometry: Overview and Phenomenological Remarks

The lack of clear new-physics signals at the LHC searches motivates models that can guide current and future collider searches. The spectral action principle within the noncommutative geometry (NCG) framework yields such models with distinctive phenomenology. This formalism derives the actions of the Standard Model, General Relativity, and beyond from the underlying algebra, putting them on a common geometric footing. Certain versions of Pati-Salam (PS) models with gauge coupling unification and limited scalar content can be derived from an appropriate noncommutative algebra. In this paper, I review these gauge-coupling-unified Pati-Salam models and discuss their phenomenological aspects, focusing on the $S_1$ scalar leptoquark.

Our Dark Matter Stopping in the Earth

We have worked for some time on a model for dark matter, in which dark matter consists of small bubbles of a new speculated type of vacuum, which are pumped up by some ordinary matter such as diamond, so as to resist the pressure of the domain wall separating the two vacua. Here we put forward thoughts on, how such macroscopic pearls would have their surrounding dust cleaned off passing through the atmosphere and the Earth, and what their distribution would be as a function of the depth of their stopping point and the distribution of the radiation emitted from them. In our model we assume that they radiate 3.5 keV electrons and photons, after having been excited during their passage into the Earth. The purpose of such an estimation of the radiation distribution is to explain the truly mysterious fact that, among all the underground experiments seeking dark matter colliding with the Earth material, only the DAMA-LIBRA experiment has seen any evidence of dark matter. This is an experiment based on solid NaI scintillators and is rather deep at 1400 m. It is our point that we can arrange the main radiation to appear in the relatively deep DAMA- LIBRA site, and explain that the dark matter pearls cannot stop in a fluid, such as xenon in the xenon based experiments.

Atomic Size Pearls being Dark Matter giving Electron Signal

We seek to explain both the seeming observation of dark matter by the seasonal variation of the DAMA-LIBRA data and the observation of "electron recoil" events at Xenon1T in which the liquid Xe scintillator was excited by electrons - in excess to the expected background - by the same dark matter model. In our model the dark matter consists of bubbles of a new type of vacuum containing ordinary atomic matter, say diamond, under high pressure ensured by the surface tension of the separation domain wall. We also seek to explain the self interactions of dark matter suggested by astronomical studies of dwarf galaxies and the central structure of galaxy clusters. The interaction with matter in the shielding is responsible for slowing the dark matter down to a low terminal velocity, so underground detectors have insufficient energy for detection. Further we explain the "mysterious" X-ray line of 3.5 keV, even the 3.5 keV X-ray radiation from the Tycho supernova remnant. The DAMA-LIBRA and Xenon1T experiments see decaying dark matter pearls. Both these underground experiments see events with about 3.5 keV energy, just the energy of the X-ray line. We fit numerically the cross section over mass ratio for the self interaction of the dark matter as observed in the study of dwarf galaxies and find the size of the pearls to be rather close to the smallest possible in our model. However DAMA cause some problem to get heavier pearls. Also the total energy of the dark matter pearls stopped in the shield is reasonably matching. Accepting the different phases of the vacuum the model could be realized inside the Standard Model, our whole scheme could be realized inside the Standard Model.

Atomic Size Dark Matter Pearls, Electron Signal

We explain both the observation of dark matter by the seasonal variation of the DAMA-LIBRA data and the observation of ``electron recoil'' events at Xenon1T by the SAME dark matter model. This DM is bubbles of a new type of vacuum containing ordinary atomic matter under high pressure ensured by the surface tension of the domain wall. Surrounding it a cloud of electrons almost of atomic size. Also we explain the self interactions of dark matter suggested by astronomical studies of dwarf galaxies etc. Interaction in the shielding slows the dark matter down to a low terminal velocity. Nuclei in the underground detectors are thus not detected. Further we explain the ``mysterious'' X-ray line of 3.5 keV from our dark matter particles colliding with each other so that the surfaces/skins unite. Even the 3.5 keV X-ray radiation from the Tycho supernova remnant is explained as our pearls hitting cosmic rays in the remnant. DAMA-LIBRA and Xenon1T experiments see supposedly our dark matter pearls excited during their stopping in the shielding or the air. The most remarkable support for our type of model is that both these underground experiments see events with about 3.5 keV energy, just the energy of the X-ray line. We get a good numerical understanding of the fitted cross section over mass ratio of self interacting dark matter observed in the study of dwarf galaxies. Also the total energy of the dark matter pearls stopped in the shield is reasonably matching order of magnitudewise with the absolute observation rates of DAMA-LIBRA and Xenon1T, although the their ratio requires further development. Accepting that the different phases of the vacuum could be realized inside the Standard Model, our whole scheme also could. No new physics is needed for dark matter!

Novel String Field Theory and Bound State, Projective Line, and sharply 3-transitive group

Using ideas from our long studied Novel String Field Theory we consider in this article a bound state of infinitely many constituents, something that at least very approximately could mean a hadron, since hadrons have typically very many constituents. Our main point, so far, is to speculate that there should be a very high degree of symmetry between the many consituents, since the constituents behave similarly at different places in the bound state. We assume speculatively that there is a group represented sharply 3-transitively as permutation of the constituents; one can namely only have {\em finite} number of elements sharply n-transitively permuted for n larger than 3. The scattering of such bound states will in the zero Bjorken $x$ limit (which is suggeted) only occur by exchange of parts of the system of constituents, quite like in our Novel String field Theory the "objects" are exchanged in bunches. The cyclically ordered chain of objects in this Novel String Field Theory are identified as a projective line structure. Also a p-adic field is a natural possibility.

Predicting the SUSY breaking scale in SUGRA models with degenerate vacua

In N=1 supergravity the scalar potential may have supersymmetric (SUSY) and non-supersymmetric Minkowski vacua (associated with supersymmetric and physical phases) with vanishing energy density. In the supersymmetric Minkowski (second) phase some breakdown of SUSY may be induced by non-perturbative effects in the observable sector that give rise to a tiny positive vacuum energy density. Postulating the exact degeneracy of the physical and second vacua as well as assuming that at high energies the couplings in both phases are almost identical, one can estimate the dark energy density in these vacua. It is mostly determined by the SUSY breaking scale M_S in the physical phase. Exploring the two-loop renormalization group (RG) flow of couplings in these vacua we find that the measured value of the cosmological constant can be reproduced if M_S varies from 20 TeV to 400 TeV. We also argue that this prediction for the SUSY breaking scale is consistent with the upper bound on M_S in the higgsino dark matter scenario.

Gravi-Weak Unification and the Black-Hole-Hedgehog's Solution with Magnetic Field Contribution

In the present paper, we investigated the gravitational black-hole-hedgehog's solution with magnetic field contribution in the framework of the f(R)--gravity described by the Gravi-Weak unification model. Assuming the Multiple Point Principle (MPP), we considered the existence of the two degenerate vacua of the Universe: the first Electroweak (EW) vacuum with $v_1 \approx 246$ GeV ("true vacuum"), and the second Planck scale ("false vacuum") with $v_2 \sim 10^{18}$ GeV. In these vacua, we investigated different topological defects. The main aim of this paper is an investigation of the black-hole-hedgehog configurations as defects of the "false vacuum". We have obtained the solution which corresponds to a global monopole, that has been "swallowed" by the black-hole with core mass $M_{BH}\approx 3.65\times 10^{18}\,\, {\rm{GeV}}$ and radius $δ\approx 6\cdot 10^{-21} {\rm{GeV}}^{-1}.$ We investigated the metric in the vicinity of the black-hole-hedgehog and estimated its horizon radius: $r_h\approx 1.14 δ$. We have considered the phase transition from the "false vacuum" to the "true vacuum" and confirmed the stability of the EW--vacuum.

Degenerate Vacua of the Universe and What Comes Beyond the Standard Model

We present a new cosmological model of the Universe based on the two discoveries: 1. cosmological constant is very small, and 2. Nature shows a new law in physics called "Multiple Point Principle" (MPP). The MPP predicts the two degenerate vacua of the Universe with VEV $v_1\approx 246$ Gev and $v_2\sim 10^{18}$ GeV, which provide masses of the Higgs boson and top-quark. A new cosmological model assumes the formation of two universal bubbles. The Universe at first stage of its existing is a bubble with a de-Sitter spacetime inside, having black-holes-hedgehogs as topological defects of the vacuum. Such a bubble has a "false vacuum" with VEV $v_2$, which decays very quickly. Cooling Universe has a new phase transition, transforming the "false" vacuum to the "true" (Electroweak) vacuum. Hedgehogs confined, and the universal bubble is transformed into the bubble having spacetime with FLRW-metric and the vacuum with new topological defects of $U(1)_{(el-mag)}$ group: magnetic vortices and Sidharth's pointlike defects. The problem of stability/metastability of the EW-vacuum is investigated. Noncommutativity of the vacua spacetime manifold is discussed. The prediction of a new physics is given by the future observations at LHC of the triplet $SU(2)$ Higgs bosons (at energies $E\sim 10$ TeV), and/or of the new bound states $6t + 6\bar t$ formed by top-antitop quarks (at $E\sim 1$ TeV). The problem "What comes beyond the Standard Model" is discussed at the end of this paper.

Black Holes-Hedgehogs and Strings as Defects of the Universal Vacua

In the present paper, assuming the Multiple Point Principle (MPP) as a new law of Nature, we considered the existence of the two degenerate vacua of the Universe: a) the first Electroweak (EW) vacuum at $v_1\approx 246$ GeV -- "true vacuum", and b) the second Planck scale "false vacuum" at $v_2 \sim 10^{18}$ GeV. In these vacua we investigated different topological defects. The main aim of this paper is an investigation of the black-hole-hedgehogs configurations as defects of the false vacuum. In the framework of the $f(R)$ gravity, described by the Gravi-Weak unification model, we considered a black-hole solution, which corresponds to a "hedgehog" -- global monopole, that has been "swallowed" by the black-hole with mass core $M_{BH}\sim 10^{18}$ GeV and radius $δ\sim 10^{-21}$ GeV$^{-1}$. Considering the results of the hedgehog lattice theory in the framework of the $SU(2)$ Yang-Mills gauge-invariant theory with hedgehogs in the Wilson loops, we have used the critical value of temperature for the hedgehogs confinement phase ($T_c\sim 10^{18}$ GeV). This result gave us the possibility to conclude that the SM shows a new physics (with contributions of the $SU(2)$-triplet Higgs bosons) at the scale $\sim 10$ TeV. Theory predicts the stability of the EW-vacuum and the accuracy of the MPP.

Dark Energy Density in SUGRA models and degenerate vacua

In N=1 supergravity the tree-level scalar potential of the hidden sector may have a minimum with broken local supersymmetry (SUSY) as well as a supersymmetric Minkowski vacuum. These vacua can be degenerate, allowing for a consistent implementation of the multiple point principle. The first minimum where SUSY is broken can be identified with the physical phase in which we live. In the second supersymmetric phase, in flat Minkowski space, SUSY may be broken dynamically either in the observable or in the hidden sectors inducing a tiny vacuum energy density. We argue that the exact degeneracy of these phases may shed light on the smallness of the cosmological constant. Other possible phenomenological implications are also discussed. In particular, we point out that the presence of such degenerate vacua may lead to small values of the quartic Higgs coupling and its beta function at the Planck scale in the physical phase.

New Resonances at LHC are possible. Multiple Point Principle and New Bound States in the Standard Model

In the present paper we argue that the correction to the Higgs mass coming from the bound state of 6 top and 6 anti-top quarks, predicted early by C.D. Froggatt, H.B. Nielsen and L.V. Laperashvili, leads to the Standard Model (SM) vacuum stability and confirms the accuracy of the multiple point principle (principle of degenerate vacua) for all experimentally valued SM parameters (Higgs mass, top-quark mass, etc.). The aim to get the vacua degeneracy requires a mass of the bound state in the region of 770 GeV.

Topological Structure of the Vacuum, Cosmological Constant and Dark Energy

In this review we present a theory of cosmological constant and Dark Energy (DE), based on the topological structure of the vacuum. The Multiple Point Principle (MPP) is reviewed. It demonstrates the existence of the two vacua into the SM. The Froggatt-Nielsen's prediction of the top-quark and Higgs masses is given in the assumption that there exist two degenerate vacua in the SM. This prediction was improved by the next order calculations. We also considered B.G. Sidharth's theory of cosmological constant based on the non-commutative geometry of the Planck scale space-time, what gives an extremely small DE density providing the accelerating expansion of the Universe. Theory of two degenerate vacua - the Planck scale phase and Electroweak (EW) phase - also is reviewed, topological defects in these vacua are investigated, also the Compton wavelength phase suggested by B.G. Sidharth was discussed. A general theory of the phase transition and the problem of the vacuum stability in the SM is reviewed. Assuming that the recently discovered at the LHC new resonance with mass $m_S \simeq 750$ GeV is a new scalar $S$ bound state $6t + 6\bar t$, earlier predicted by C.D. Froggatt, H.B. Nielsen and L.V. Laperashvili, we try to provide the vacuum stability in the SM and exact accuracy of the MPP.

New results at LHC confirming the vacuum stability and Multiple Point Principle

In the present paper we argue that the correction to the Higgs mass coming from the bound state of 6 top and 6 anti-top quarks, predicted early by C.D. Froggatt and ourselves, leads to the Standard Model vacuum stability and confirms the accuracy of the multiple point principle (principle of degenerate vacua) for all experimentally valued parameters (Higgs mass, top-quark mass, etc.). Fitting to get the vacuum degeneracy requires a mass of the bound state, just in the region of the new two photon state in LHC, 750-760 GeV.

Tunguska Dark Matter Ball

It is suggested that the Tunguska event in June 1908 cm-large was due to a cm-large ball of a condensate of bound states of 6 top and 6 anti-top quarks containing highly compressed ordinary matter. Such balls are supposed to make up the dark matter as we earlier proposed. The expected rate of impact of this kind of dark matter ball with the earth seems to crudely match a time scale of 200 years between the impacts. The main explosion of the Tunguska event is explained in our picture as material coming out from deep within the earth, where it has been heated and compressed by the ball penetrating to a depth of several thousand km. Thus the effect has some similarity with volcanic activity as suggested by Kundt. We discuss the possible identification of kimberlite pipes with earlier Tunguska-like events. A discussion of how the dark matter balls may have formed in the early universe is also given.

Planck Scale Physics, Gravi-Weak Unification and the Higgs Inflation

Starting with a theory of the discrete space-time at the Planck scale, we developed a Gravi-Weak Unification (GWU) - a $Spin(4,4)$-invariant model unified gravity with weak $SU(2)$ gauge and Higgs fields in the visible and invisible sectors of the Universe. Considering the Gravi-Weak symmetry breaking, we showed that the obtained sub-algebras contain the self-dual left-handed gravity in the OW, and the anti-self-dual right-handed gravity in the MW. Finally, at the low energy limit, we have only the Standard Model (SM) and the Einstein-Hilbert's gravity. The Froggatt-Nielsen's prediction of the top-quark and Higgs masses was given in the assumption that there exist two degenerate vacua in the SM. This prediction was improved by the next order calculations. We have developed a model of the Higgs Inflation using the GWU action. According to this inflationary model, a scalar field (inflaton) starts trapped from the "false vacuum" of the Universe at the Higgs field's VEV $v_2 \sim 10^{18}$ GeV. The interaction between the ordinary and mirror Higgs fields $ϕ$ and $\widetildeϕ$ generates a Hybrid model by A.~Linde of the Higgs Inflation in our Universe.

Diphoton decay of the Higgs boson and new bound states of top and anti-top quarks

We consider the constraints, provided by the LHC results on Higgs boson decay into 2 photons and its production via gluon fusion, on the previously proposed Standard Model (SM) strongly bound state $S$ of 6 top quarks and 6 anti-top quarks. A correlation is predicted between the ratios $κ_γ$ and $κ_g$ of the Higgs diphoton decay and gluon production amplitudes respectively to their SM values. We estimate the contribution to these amplitudes from one loop diagrams involving the 12 quark bound state $S$ and related excited states using an atomic physics based model. We find two regions of parameter space consistent with the ATLAS and CMS data on ($κ_γ$, $κ_g$) at the 3 sigma level: a region close to the SM values ($κ_γ=1$, $κ_g =1$) with the mass of the bound state $m_S > 400$ GeV and a region with ($κ_γ \sim 3/2$, $κ_g \sim -3/4$) corresponding to a bound state mass of $m_S \sim 220$ GeV.
