Measurements of the mass and width of the eta_c using psi' -> gamma eta_c

The mass and width of the lowest lying S-wave spin singlet charmonium state, the eta_c, are measured using a data sample of 1.06x10^8 psi' decays collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring. We use a model that incorporates interference between the signal reaction, psi' -> gamma eta_c, and a non-resonant radiative background to successfully describe the line shape of the eta_c. We measure the eta_c mass to be 2984.3 +- 0.6 +- 0.6 MeV/c^2 and the total width to be 32.0 +- 1.2 +- 1.0 MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic.

Representation theory of a Class of Hopf algebras

The representations of the pointed Hopf algebras $U$ and $\su$ are described, where $U$ and $\su$ can be regarded as deformations of the usual quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(3))$ and the small quantum groups respectively. It is illustrated that these representations have a close connection with those of the quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}(2))$ and those of the half quantum groups of $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$.

The half-quantum group U^>=0

Let U^>=0 denote the half quantum group for a fixed simple Lie algebra. We examine some properties and representation of U^>=0. We prove that the Hopf algebra U^>=0 is not quasi-cocommutative, and hence the category of left U^>=0-module is not a braided monoidal category. In the weight module category W, we describe all the simple objects and the projective objects. We also describe all simple Yetter-Drinfel'd U^>=0-weight modules.

Physics at BES-III

This physics book provides detailed discussions on important topics in $τ$-charm physics that will be explored during the next few years at \bes3 . Both theoretical and experimental issues are covered, including extensive reviews of recent theoretical developments and experimental techniques. Among the subjects covered are: innovations in Partial Wave Analysis (PWA), theoretical and experimental techniques for Dalitz-plot analyses, analysis tools to extract absolute branching fractions and measurements of decay constants, form factors, and CP-violation and \DzDzb-oscillation parameters. Programs of QCD studies and near-threshold tau-lepton physics measurements are also discussed.
