X Modality Assisting RGBT Object Tracking

Developing robust multi-modal feature representations is crucial for enhancing object tracking performance. In pursuit of this objective, a novel X Modality Assisting Network (X-Net) is introduced, which explores the impact of the fusion paradigm by decoupling visual object tracking into three distinct levels, thereby facilitating subsequent processing. Initially, to overcome the challenges associated with feature learning due to significant discrepancies between RGB and thermal modalities, a plug-and-play pixel-level generation module (PGM) based on knowledge distillation learning is proposed. This module effectively generates the X modality, bridging the gap between the two patterns while minimizing noise interference. Subsequently, to optimize sample feature representation and promote cross-modal interactions, a feature-level interaction module (FIM) is introduced, integrating a mixed feature interaction transformer and a spatial dimensional feature translation strategy. Finally, to address random drifting caused by missing instance features, a flexible online optimization strategy called the decision-level refinement module (DRM) is proposed, which incorporates optical flow and refinement mechanisms. The efficacy of X-Net is validated through experiments on three benchmarks, demonstrating its superiority over state-of-the-art trackers. Notably, X-Net achieves performance gains of 0.47%/1.2% in the average of precise rate and success rate, respectively. Additionally, the research content, data, and code are pledged to be made publicly accessible at https://github.com/DZSYUNNAN/XNet.

On the Weisfeiler-Leman dimension of some polyhedral graphs

Let $m$ be a positive integer, $X$ a graph with vertex set $Ω$, and ${\rm WL}_m(X)$ the coloring of the Cartesian $m$-power $Ω^m$, obtained by the $m$-dimensional Weisfeiler-Leman algorithm. The ${\rm WL}$-dimension of the graph $X$ is defined to be the smallest $m$ for which the coloring ${\rm WL}_m(X)$ determines $X$ up to isomorphism. It is known that the ${\rm WL}$-dimension of any planar graph is $2$ or $3$, but no planar graph of ${\rm WL}$-dimension $3$ is known. We prove that the ${\rm WL}$-dimension of a polyhedral (i.e., $3$-connected planar) graph $X$ is at most $2$ if the color classes of the coloring ${\rm WL}_2(X)$ are the orbits of the componentwise action of the group ${\rm Aut}(X)$ on $Ω^2$.

New sufficient degree conditions for an $r$-uniform hypergraph to be $k$-edge-connected

An $r$-uniform hypergraphic sequence (i.e., $r$-graphic sequence) $d=(d_1, d_2,\cdots,d_n)$ is said to be forcibly $k$-edge-connected if every realization of $d$ is $k$-edge-connected. In this paper, we obtain a strongest sufficient degree condition for $d$ to be $k$-edge-connected for all $k\ge 1$ and a strongest sufficient degree condition for $d$ to be super edge-connected. As a corollary, we give the minimum degree condition for $d$ to be maximally edge-connected. We also obtain another sufficient degree condition for $d$ to be $k$-edge-connected.

On the existence of tripartite graphs and n-partite graphs

The degree sequence of a graph is the sequence of the degrees of its vertices. If $π$ is a degree sequence of a graph $G$, then $G$ is a realization of $π$ and $G$ realizes $π$. Determining when a sequence of positive integers is realizable as a degree sequence of a simple graph has received much attention. One of the early results, by Erdös and Gallai, characterized degree sequences of graphs. The result was strengthened by Hakimi and Havel. Another generalization is derived by Cai et al. Hoogeveen and Sierksma listed seven criteria and gave a uniform proof. In addition, Gale and Ryser independently established a characterization by using network flows. We extend Gale and Ryser's results from bipartite graphs to tripartite graphs and even $n$-partite graphs. As corollaries, we give a necessary condition and a sufficient condition for the triple $(σ_1, σ_2, σ_3)$ to be realizable by a tripartite graph, where $σ_1$, $σ_2$ and $σ_3$ are all non-increasing sequences of nonnegative integers. We also give a stronger necessary condition for $(σ_1, σ_2, σ_3)$ to be realizable by a tripartite graph.

Hydrogen induced electronic transition within correlated perovskite nickelates with heavy rare-earth composition

Although discovery in hydrogen induced electronic transition within perovskite family of rare-earth nickelate (ReNiO3) opens up a new paradigm in exploring both the new materials functionality and device applications, the existing research stays at ReNiO3 with light rare-earth compositions. To further extend the cognition towards heavier rare-earth, herein we demonstrate the hydrogen induced electronic transitions for quasi-single crystalline ReNiO3/LaAlO3 (001) heterostructures, covering a large variety of the rare-earth composition from Nd to Er. The hydrogen induced elevations in the resistivity of ReNiO3 (RH/R0) show an unexpected non-monotonic tendency with the atomic number of the rare-earth composition, e.g., firstly increase from Nd to Dy and afterwards decreases from Dy to Er. Although ReNiO3 with heavy rare-earth composition (e.g. DyNiO3) exhibits large RH/R0 up to 107, their hydrogen induced electronic transition is not reversible. Further probing the electronic structures via near edge X-ray absorption fine structure analysis clearly demonstrates the respective transition in electronic structures of ReNiO3 from Ni3+ based electron itinerant orbital configurations towards the Ni2+ based electron localized state. Balancing the hydrogen induced transition reversibility with the abruption in the variations of material resistivity, we emphasize that the ReNiO3 with middle rare-earth compositions (e.g. Sm) to be most suitable that caters for the potential applications in correlated electronic devices.

$Υ(nS)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}^{\ast}D$ decays with perturbative QCD approach

The $Υ(nS)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}^{\ast}D$ weak decays ($n$ $=$ $1$, $2$, $3$) are investigated with perturbative QCD approach. It is found that the CKM-favored $Υ(nS)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}^{\ast}D_{s}$ decays have branching ratio of ${\cal O}(10^{-10})$, which might be potentially accessible to the future LHC and SuperKEKB experiments.

The nonleptonic two-body $B^{\ast}$ ${\to}$ $\bar{D}D$ weak decays are studied phenomenologically with the perturbative QCD factorization approach. It is found that the $B_{s}^{{\ast}0}$ ${\to}$ $D_{s}^{-}D_{s}^{+}$, $B_{d}^{{\ast}0}$ ${\to}$ $D_{d}^{-}D_{s}^{+}$, and $B_{u}^{{\ast}+}$ ${\to}$ $\bar{D}_{u}^{0}D_{s}^{+}$ decays have branching ratios ${\gtrsim}$ $10^{-9}$, and might be promisingly measurable at the running LHC and forthcoming SuperKEKB experiments in the future.

Study on the $Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}D_{s}$ decay

The branching ratio and direct $CP$ asymmetry of the $Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}D_{s}$ weak decay are estimated with the perturbative QCD approach. It is found that (1) The direct $CP$-violating asymmetry is close to zero. (2) the branching ratio ${\cal B}r(Υ(1S){\to}B_{c}D_{s})$ ${\gtrsim}$ $10^{-10}$ might be measurable at the future experiments.

$Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}π$, $B_{c}K$ decays with perturbative QCD approach

With the potential prospects of the $Υ(1S)$ at high-luminosity dedicated heavy-flavor factories, the bottom-changing $Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}π$, $B_{c}K$ weak decays are studied with the pQCD approach. It is found that branching ratio for the color-favored and CKM-favored $Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}π$ decay can reach up to ${\cal O}(10^{-11})$. So the $Υ(1S)$ ${\to}$ $B_{c}π$ decay might be measured promisingly by the future experiments.

Bounds and Constructions for $\overline{3}$-Separable Codes with Length $3$

Separable codes were introduced to provide protection against illegal redistribution of copyrighted multimedia material. Let $\mathcal{C}$ be a code of length $n$ over an alphabet of $q$ letters. The descendant code ${\sf desc}(\mathcal{C}_0)$ of $\mathcal{C}_0 = \{{\bf c}_1, {\bf c}_2, \ldots, {\bf c}_t\} \subseteq {\mathcal{C}}$ is defined to be the set of words ${\bf x} = (x_1, x_2, \ldots,x_n)^T$ such that $x_i \in \{c_{1,i}, c_{2,i}, \ldots, c_{t,i}\}$ for all $i=1, \ldots, n$, where ${\bf c}_j=(c_{j,1},c_{j,2},\ldots,c_{j,n})^T$. $\mathcal{C}$ is a $\overline{t}$-separable code if for any two distinct $\mathcal{C}_1, \mathcal{C}_2 \subseteq \mathcal{C}$ with $|\mathcal{C}_1| \le t$, $|\mathcal{C}_2| \le t$, we always have ${\sf desc}(\mathcal{C}_1) \neq {\sf desc}(\mathcal{C}_2)$. Let $M(\overline{t},n,q)$ denote the maximal possible size of such a separable code. In this paper, an upper bound on $M(\overline{3},3,q)$ is derived by considering an optimization problem related to a partial Latin square, and then two constructions for $\overline{3}$-SC$(3,M,q)$s are provided by means of perfect hash families and Steiner triple systems.

Splashing phenomena of room temperature liquid metal droplet striking on the pool of the same liquid under ambient air environment

In this article, the fluid dynamics of room temperature liquid metal (RTLM) droplet impacting onto a pool of the same liquid in ambient air was investigated. A series of experiments were conducted in order to disclose the influence of the oxidation effect on the impact dynamics. The droplet shape and impact phenomenology were recorded with the aid of a high-speed digital camera. The impact energy stored in the splash structures was estimated via a theoretical model and several morphological parameters obtained from instantaneous images of the splash. It was observed that the droplet shape and the splashing morphology of RTLM were drastically different from those of water, so was the impact dynamics between room temperature LM pool and high temperature LM pool. The energy analysis disclosed that the height of the jet is highly sensitive to the viscosity of the fluid, which is subjected to the oxidation effect and temperature effect simultaneously, and thus perfectly explained the phenomena. These basic findings are important for the application of RTLM in a series of newly emerging technologies such as liquid metal based spray cooling, ink-jet printed electronics, interface material painting and coating, metallurgy, and 3D packages, etc.
