Spiral Minimal Products

This paper exhibits a structural strategy to produce new minimal submanifolds in spheres based on two given ones. The method is to spin the given minimal submanifolds by a curve $γ\subset \mathbb S^3$ in a balanced way and leads to resulting minimal submanifolds $-$ spiral minimal products, which form a two-dimensional family arising from intriguing pendulum phenomena decided by $C$ and $\tilde C$. With $C=0$, we generalize the construction of minimal tori in $\mathbb S^3$ explained in [Bre13] to higher dimensional situations. When $C=-1$, we recapture previous relative work in [CLU06] and [HK12] for special Legendrian submanifolds in spheres, and moreover, can gain numerous $\mathscr C$-totally real and totally real embedded minimal submanifolds in spheres and in complex projective spaces respectively. A key ingredient of the paper is to apply a beautiful extension result of minimal submanifolds by Harvey and Lawson [HL75] for a rotational reflection principle in our situation to establish curve $γ$.

The discrete horospherical $p$-Minkowski problem in hyperbolic space

In \cite{LX}, the first author and the third author introduced and studied the horospherical $p$-Minkowski problem for smooth horospherically convex domains in hyperbolic space. In this paper, we introduce and solve the discrete horospherical $p$-Minkowski problem in hyperbolic space for all $p\in(-\infty,+\infty)$ when the given measure is even on the unit sphere.

Uniqueness of solutions to some classes of anisotropic and isotropic curvature problems

In this paper, we apply various methods to establish the uniqueness of solutions to some classes of anisotropic and isotropic curvature problems. Firstly, by employing integral formulas derived by S. S. Chern \cite{Ch59}, we obtain the uniqueness of smooth admissible solutions to a class of Orlicz-(Christoffel)-Minkowski problems. Secondly, inspired by Simon's uniqueness result \cite{Si67}, we then prove that the only smooth strictly convex solution to the following isotropic curvature problem \begin{equation}\label{ab-1} \left(\frac{P_k(W)}{P_l(W)}\right)^{\frac{1}{k-l}}=ψ(u,r)\quad \text{on}\ \mathbb{S}^n \end{equation} must be an origin-centred sphere, where $W=(\nabla^2 u+u g_0)$, $\partial_1ψ\ge 0,\partial_2ψ\ge 0$ and at least one of these inequalities is strict. As an application, we establish the uniqueness of solutions to the isotropic Gaussian-Minkowski problem. Finally, we derive the uniqueness result for the following isotropic $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem \begin{equation}\label{ab-2} u^{1-p} r^{q-n-1}\det(W)=1\quad \text{on}\ \mathbb{S}^n, \end{equation} where $-n-1<p\le -1$ and $n+1\le q\le n+\frac{1}{2}+\sqrt{\frac{1}{4}-\frac{(1+p)(n+1+p)}{n(n+2)}}$. This result utilizes the method developed by Ivaki and Milman \cite{IM23} and generalizes a result due to Brendle, Choi and Daskalopoulos \cite{BCD17}.

Asymptotic Plateau problem via equidistant hyperplanes

We show the existence of a complete, strictly locally convex hypersurface within $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}$ that adheres to a curvature equation applicable to a broad range of curvature functions. This hypersurface possesses a prescribed asymptotic boundary at infinity and takes the form of a geodesic graph over a smooth bounded domain $Ω$ at infinity. It is approximated by the shape of geodesic graphs whose boundaries rest upon equidistant hyperplanes. Through this procedure, we establish an alternative method for constructing solutions to the asymptotic Plateau problem. The resulting solutions may differ from the classical ones, particularly in cases where uniqueness cannot be assured.

Sharp upper bounds for the capacity in the hyperbolic and Euclidean spaces

We derive various sharp upper bounds for the $p$-capacity of a smooth compact set $K$ in the hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^n$ and the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^n$. Firstly, using the inverse mean curvature flow, for the mean convex and star-shaped set $K$ in $\mathbb{H}^n$, we obtain sharp upper bounds for the $p$-capacity $\mathrm{Cap}_p(K)$ in three cases: (1) $n\geq 2$ and $p=2$, (2) $n=2$ and $p\geq 3$, (3) $n=3$ and $1 1$. Secondly, for the compact set $K$ in $\mathbb{R}^3$, using the weak inverse mean curvature flow, we get a sharp upper bound for the $p$-capacity ($1<p<3$) of the set $K$ with connected boundary; Using the inverse anisotropic mean curvature flow, we deduce a sharp upper bound for the anisotropic $p$-capacity ($1<p<3$) of an $F$-mean convex and star-shaped set $K$ in $\mathbb{R}^3$.

Hypersurfaces of $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{S}^2$ with constant sectional curvature

In this paper, we classify the hypersurfaces of $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{S}^2$ with constant sectional curvature. By applying the so-called Tsinghua principle, which was first discovered by the first three authors in 2013 at Tsinghua University, we prove that the constant sectional curvature can only be $\frac{1}{2}$ and the product angle function $C$ defined by Urbano is identically zero. We show that any such hypersurface is a parallel hypersurface of a minimal hypersurface in $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{S}^2$ with $C=0$, and we establish a one-to-one correspondence between the involving minimal hypersurface and the famous ``sinh-Gordon equation'' $$ (\frac{\partial^2}{\partial u^2}+\frac{\partial^2}{\partial v^2})h =-\tfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}\sinh(\sqrt{2}h). $$ As a byproduct, we give a complete classification of the hypersurfaces of $\mathbb{S}^2\times\mathbb{S}^2$ with constant mean curvature and constant product angle function $C$.

Hyperbolic $p$-sum and Horospherical $p$-Brunn-Minkowski theory in hyperbolic space

The classical Brunn-Minkowski theory studies the geometry of convex bodies in Euclidean space by use of the Minkowski sum. It originated from H. Brunn's thesis in 1887 and H. Minkowski's paper in 1903. Because there is no universally acknowledged definition of the sum of two sets in hyperbolic space, there has been no Brunn-Minkowski theory in hyperbolic space since 1903. In this paper, for any $p>0$ we introduce a sum of two sets in hyperbolic space, and we call it the hyperbolic $p$-sum. Then we develop a Brunn-Minkowski theory in the hyperbolic space by use of our hyperbolic $p$-sum, and we call it the horospherical $p$-Brunn-Minkowski theory. Let $K$ be any smooth horospherically convex bounded domain in the hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}$. Through calculating the variation of the $k$-th modified quermassintegral of $K$ by use of our hyperbolic $p$-sum, we introduce the horospherical $k$-th $p$-surface area measure associated with $K$ on the unit sphere $\mathbb{S}^n$. For $k=0$, we introduce the horospherical $p$-Minkowski problem, which is the prescribed horospherical $p$-surface area measure problem. Through designing and studying a new volume preserving flow, we solve the existence of solutions to the horospherical $p$-Minkowski problem for all $p \in (-\infty,+\infty)$ when the given measure is even. For $1 \leq k \leq n-1$, we introduce the horospherical $p$-Christoffel-Minkowski problem, which is the prescribed horospherical $k$-th $p$-surface area measure problem. We solve the existence of solutions to the horospherical $p$-Christoffel-Minkowski problem for $p\in(-n, +\infty)$ under appropriate assumption on the given measure. We also study the Brunn-Minkowski inequalities and the Minkowski inequalities for domains in the hyperbolic space.

A class of weighted isoperimetric inequalities in hyperbolic space

In this paper, we prove a class of weighted isoperimetric inequalities for bounded domains in hyperbolic space by using the isoperimetric inequality with log-convex density in Euclidean space. As a consequence, we remove the horo-convex assumption of domains in a weighted isoperimetric inequality proved by Scheuer-Xia. Furthermore, we prove weighted isoperimetric inequalities for star-shaped domains in warped product manifolds. Particularly, we obtain a weighted isoperimetric inequality for star-shaped hypersurfaces lying outside a certain radial coordinate slice in the anti-de Sitter-Schwarzschild manifold.

Classification of solutions for the planar isotropic $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem

In his beautiful paper [1], Ben Andrews obtained the complete classification of the solutions of the planar isotropic $L_p$ Minkowski problem. In this paper, by generalizing Ben Andrews's result we obtain the complete classification of the solutions of the planar isotropic $L_p$ dual Minkowski problem, that is, for any $p,q\in\mathbb{R}$ we obtain the complete classification of the solutions of the following equation: \begin{equation*} u^{1-p}(u_θ^2+u^2)^{\frac{q-2}{2}}(u_{θθ}+u)=1\quad\text{on}\ \mathbb{S}^1. \end{equation*} To establish the classification, we convert the ODE for the solution into an integral and study its asymptotic behavior, duality and monotonicity.

Blaschke-Santaló type inequalities and quermassintegral inequalities in space forms

In this paper, we prove a family of identities for closed and strictly convex hypersurfaces in the sphere and hyperbolic/de Sitter space. As applications, we prove Blaschke-Santaló type inequalities in the sphere and hyperbolic/de Sitter space, which generalizes the previous work of Gao, Hug and Schneider \cite{GHS03}. We also prove the quermassintegral inequalities in hyperbolic/de Sitter space.

A flow approach to the prescribed Gaussian curvature problem in $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}$

In this paper, we study the following prescribed Gaussian curvature problem $$K=\frac{\tilde{f}(θ)}{ϕ(ρ)^{α-2}\sqrt{ϕ(ρ)^2+|\bar{\nabla}ρ|^2}},$$ a generalization of the Alexandrov problem ($α=n+1$) in hyperbolic space, where $\tilde{f}$ is a smooth positive function on $\mathbb{S}^{n}$, $ρ$ is the radial function of the hypersurface, $ϕ(ρ)=\sinhρ$ and $K$ is the Gauss curvature. By a flow approach, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the above equations when $α\geq n+1$. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in smooth category for the Alexandrov problem in $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}$. We also consider the cases $2<α\leq n+1$ under the evenness assumption of $\tilde{f}$ and prove the existence of solutions to the above equations.

Comparison results for solutions of Poisson equations with Robin boundary on complete Riemannian manifolds

In this paper, by using Schwarz rearrangement and isoperimetric inequalities, we prove comparison results for the solutions of Poisson equations on complete Riemannian manifolds with $Ric\geq (n-1)κ$, $\, κ\geq 0$, which extends the results in \cite{ANT-Talenti-a}. Furthermore, as applications of our comparison results, we obtain the Saint-Venant inequality and Bossel-Daners inequality for Robin Laplacian.

Self-similar solutions to fully nonlinear curvature flows by high powers of curvature

In this paper, we investigate closed strictly convex hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ which shrink self-similarly under a large family of fully nonlinear curvature flows by high powers of curvature. When the speed function is given by powers of a homogeneous of degree $1$ and inverse concave function of the principal curvatures with power greater than $1$, we prove that the only such hypersurfaces are round spheres. We also prove that slices are the only closed strictly convex self-similar solutions to such curvature flows in the hemisphere $\mathbb{S}^{n+1}_{+}$ with power greater than or equal to $1$.

Asymptotic convergence for a class of anisotropic curvature flows

In this paper, by using new auxiliary functions, we study a class of contracting flows of closed, star-shaped hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with speed $r^{\fracαβ}σ_k^{\frac{1}β}$, where $σ_k$ is the $k$-th elementary symmetric polynomial of the principal curvatures, $α$, $β$ are positive constants and $r$ is the distance from points on the hypersurface to the origin. We obtain convergence results under some assumptions of $k$, $α$, $β$. When $k\geq2$, $0<β\leq 1$, $α\geq β+k$, we prove that the $k$-convex solution to the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly to a sphere after normalization, in particular, we generalize Li-Sheng-Wang's result from uniformly convex to $k$-convex. When $k \geq 2$, $β=k$, $α\geq 2k$, we prove that the $k$-convex solution to the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly to a sphere after normalization, in particular, we generalize Ling Xiao's result from $k=2$ to $k \geq 2$.
