Bayesian neural network with autoencoder for model-based description of $α$-particle preformation factor

$α$ decay is an important probe for studying the structure of heavy and superheavy nuclei, in which the $α$-particle preformation ($P_α$) is a key physical quantity for describing decay half-lives. This work develops a hybrid framework that integrates Bayesian neural networks with autoencoder (BNN-Auto), combined with the cosh potential (CPT), to systematically optimize the constraint and prediction of $P_α$. The model employs variational inference for probabilistic modeling of network weights, naturally providing robust uncertainty quantification for predictions, and utilizes an autoencoder to enhance the robustness of feature representation. Based on experimental data from 535 nuclei, the BNN-Auto method achieves relative improvements in the root mean square deviation ($σ_{\rm{RMS}}$) of $P_α$ prediction by $61.14\%$ on the training set and $54.49\%$ on the validation set. Further analysis reveals that the $P_α$ and half-life extracted by the model exhibit pronounced odd-even staggering and shell effects in isotopic chains with $Z=86-90$ and isotones with $N=124-128$ and $N=150-154$. Moreover, we successfully predict the $α$ decay half-lives of nuclei with $Z=120$ and observe a significant increase in the half-life near $N=184$, which verifies the shell effect of the predicted 'stable island'. This study not only provides a high-precision theoretical description for $α$ decay, but also offers a new machine learning perspective for exploring the structure of superheavy nuclei.

MOSIV: Multi-Object System Identification from Videos

We introduce the challenging problem of multi-object system identification from videos, for which prior methods are ill-suited due to their focus on single-object scenes or discrete material classification with a fixed set of material prototypes. To address this, we propose MOSIV, a new framework that directly optimizes for continuous, per-object material parameters using a differentiable simulator guided by geometric objectives derived from video. We also present a new synthetic benchmark with contact-rich, multi-object interactions to facilitate evaluation. On this benchmark, MOSIV substantially improves grounding accuracy and long-horizon simulation fidelity over adapted baselines, establishing it as a strong baseline for this new task. Our analysis shows that object-level fine-grained supervision and geometry-aligned objectives are critical for stable optimization in these complex, multi-object settings. The source code and dataset will be released.

Collaborative Planning with Concurrent Synchronization for Operationally Constrained UAV-UGV Teams

Collaborative planning under operational constraints is an essential capability for heterogeneous robot teams tackling complex large-scale real-world tasks. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) offer rapid environmental coverage, but flight time is often limited by energy constraints, whereas Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) have greater energy capacity to support long-duration missions, but movement is constrained by traversable terrain. Individually, neither can complete tasks such as environmental monitoring. Effective UAV-UGV collaboration therefore requires energy-constrained multi-UAV task planning, traversability-constrained multi-UGV path planning, and crucially, synchronized concurrent co-planning to ensure timely in-mission recharging. To enable these capabilities, we propose Collaborative Planning with Concurrent Synchronization (CoPCS), a learning-based approach that integrates a heterogeneous graph transformer for operationally constrained task encoding with a transformer decoder for joint, synchronized co-planning that enables UAVs and UGVs to act concurrently in a coordinated manner. CoPCS is trained end-to-end under a unified imitation learning paradigm. We conducted extensive experiments to evaluate CoPCS in both robotic simulations and physical robot teams. Experimental results demonstrate that our method provides the novel multi-robot capability of synchronized concurrent co-planning and substantially improves team performance. More details of this work are available on the project website: https://hcrlab.gitlab.io/project/CoPCS.

CycleChemist: A Dual-Pronged Machine Learning Framework for Organic Photovoltaic Discovery

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials offer a promising path toward sustainable energy generation, but their development is limited by the difficulty of identifying high performance donor and acceptor pairs with strong power conversion efficiencies (PCEs). Existing design strategies typically focus on either the donor or the acceptor alone, rather than using a unified approach capable of modeling both components. In this work, we introduce a dual machine learning framework for OPV discovery that combines predictive modeling with generative molecular design. We present the Organic Photovoltaic Donor Acceptor Dataset (OPV2D), the largest curated dataset of its kind, containing 2000 experimentally characterized donor acceptor pairs. Using this dataset, we develop the Organic Photovoltaic Classifier (OPVC) to predict whether a material exhibits OPV behavior, and a hierarchical graph neural network that incorporates multi task learning and donor acceptor interaction modeling. This framework includes the Molecular Orbital Energy Estimator (MOE2) for predicting HOMO and LUMO energy levels, and the Photovoltaic Performance Predictor (P3) for estimating PCE. In addition, we introduce the Material Generative Pretrained Transformer (MatGPT) to produce synthetically accessible organic semiconductors, guided by a reinforcement learning strategy with three objective policy optimization. By linking molecular representation learning with performance prediction, our framework advances data driven discovery of high performance OPV materials.

Integrated Microcomb-Driven Vortex Electromagnetic Waves for Broadband Forward-looking Sensing

Microwave sensing is a critical enabler for all-weather perception, yet its resolution is fundamentally capped by the diffraction limit of the physical antenna aperture. While vortex electromagnetic (EM) waves offer a route to bypass this barrier, practical deployment is constrained by the trade-off between bandwidth, mode purity, and hardware complexity. Here, we propose a microwave photonic architecture enabled by a chip-scale dissipative Kerr soliton (DKS) microcomb that resolves these constraints. The microcomb provides a grid of over 270 optical lines with linewidths below 30 kHz, which are modulated and optically processed to synthesize vortex waves covering 8 GHz (18-26 GHz) with 15 programmable orbital angular momentum (OAM) modes. In contrast to conventional parallel-laser systems, our approach reduces phase error and improves OAM mode purity, while condensing the multi-wavelength source onto a monolithic chip. We demonstrate superior forward-looking imaging performance, clearly resolving both point targets and complex scenes. This work establishes a scalable framework bridging integrated soliton physics with broadband microwave processing, paving the way for next-generation compact smart sensors.

Quantized SO(3)-Equivariant Graph Neural Networks for Efficient Molecular Property Prediction

Deploying 3D graph neural networks (GNNs) that are equivariant to 3D rotations (the group SO(3)) on edge devices is challenging due to their high computational cost. This paper addresses the problem by compressing and accelerating an SO(3)-equivariant GNN using low-bit quantization techniques. Specifically, we introduce three innovations for quantized equivariant transformers: (1) a magnitude-direction decoupled quantization scheme that separately quantizes the norm and orientation of equivariant (vector) features, (2) a branch-separated quantization-aware training strategy that treats invariant and equivariant feature channels differently in an attention-based $SO(3)$-GNN, and (3) a robustness-enhancing attention normalization mechanism that stabilizes low-precision attention computations. Experiments on the QM9 and rMD17 molecular benchmarks demonstrate that our 8-bit models achieve accuracy on energy and force predictions comparable to full-precision baselines with markedly improved efficiency. We also conduct ablation studies to quantify the contribution of each component to maintain accuracy and equivariance under quantization, using the Local error of equivariance (LEE) metric. The proposed techniques enable the deployment of symmetry-aware GNNs in practical chemistry applications with 2.37--2.73x faster inference and 4x smaller model size, without sacrificing accuracy or physical symmetry.

HDINO: A Concise and Efficient Open-Vocabulary Detector

Despite the growing interest in open-vocabulary object detection in recent years, most existing methods rely heavily on manually curated fine-grained training datasets as well as resource-intensive layer-wise cross-modal feature extraction. In this paper, we propose HDINO, a concise yet efficient open-vocabulary object detector that eliminates the dependence on these components. Specifically, we propose a two-stage training strategy built upon the transformer-based DINO model. In the first stage, noisy samples are treated as additional positive object instances to construct a One-to-Many Semantic Alignment Mechanism(O2M) between the visual and textual modalities, thereby facilitating semantic alignment. A Difficulty Weighted Classification Loss (DWCL) is also designed based on initial detection difficulty to mine hard examples and further improve model performance. In the second stage, a lightweight feature fusion module is applied to the aligned representations to enhance sensitivity to linguistic semantics. Under the Swin Transformer-T setting, HDINO-T achieves \textbf{49.2} mAP on COCO using 2.2M training images from two publicly available detection datasets, without any manual data curation and the use of grounding data, surpassing Grounding DINO-T and T-Rex2 by \textbf{0.8} mAP and \textbf{2.8} mAP, respectively, which are trained on 5.4M and 6.5M images. After fine-tuning on COCO, HDINO-T and HDINO-L further achieve \textbf{56.4} mAP and \textbf{59.2} mAP, highlighting the effectiveness and scalability of our approach. VideoFusion: A Spatio-Temporal Collaborative Network for Multi-modal Video Fusion

Compared to images, videos better reflect real-world acquisition and possess valuable temporal cues. However, existing multi-sensor fusion research predominantly integrates complementary context from multiple images rather than videos due to the scarcity of large-scale multi-sensor video datasets, limiting research in video fusion and the inherent difficulty of jointly modeling spatial and temporal dependencies in a unified framework. To this end, we construct M3SVD, a benchmark dataset with $220$ temporally synchronized and spatially registered infrared-visible videos comprising $153,797$ frames, bridging the data gap. Secondly, we propose VideoFusion, a multi-modal video fusion model that exploits cross-modal complementarity and temporal dynamics to generate spatio-temporally coherent videos from multi-modal inputs. Specifically, 1) a differential reinforcement module is developed for cross-modal information interaction and enhancement, 2) a complete modality-guided fusion strategy is employed to adaptively integrate multi-modal features, and 3) a bi-temporal co-attention mechanism is devised to dynamically aggregate forward-backward temporal contexts to reinforce cross-frame feature representations. Experiments reveal that VideoFusion outperforms existing image-oriented fusion paradigms in sequences, effectively mitigating temporal inconsistency and interference. TimeMAE: Self-Supervised Representations of Time Series with Decoupled Masked Autoencoders

Learning transferable representations from unlabeled time series is crucial for improving performance in data-scarce classification. Existing self-supervised methods often operate at the point level and rely on unidirectional encoding, leading to low semantic density and a mismatch between pre-training and downstream optimization. In this paper, we propose TimeMAE, a self-supervised framework that reformulates masked modeling for time series via semantic unit elevation and decoupled representation learning. Instead of modeling individual time steps, TimeMAE segments time series into non-overlapping sub-series to form semantically enriched units, enabling more informative masked reconstruction while reducing computational cost. To address the representation discrepancy introduced by masking, we design a decoupled masked autoencoder that separately encodes visible and masked regions, avoiding artificial masked tokens in the main encoder. To guide pre-training, we introduce two complementary objectives: masked codeword classification, which discretizes sub-series semantics via a learned tokenizer and masked representation regression, which aligns continuous representations through a momentum-updated target encoder. Extensive experiments on five datasets demonstrate that TimeMAE outperforms competitive baselines, particularly in label-scarce scenarios and transfer learning scenarios.

Optimizing SSD-Resident Graph Indexing for High-Throughput Vector Search

Graph-based approximate nearest neighbor search (ANNS) methods (e.g., HNSW) have become the de facto state of the art for their high precision and low latency. To scale beyond main memory, recent out-of-memory ANNS systems leverage SSDs to store large vector indexes. However, they still suffer from severe CPU underutilization and read amplification (i.e., storage stalls) caused by limited access locality during graph traversal. We present VeloANN, which mitigates storage stalls through a locality-aware data layout and a coroutine-based asynchronous runtime. VeloANN utilizes hierarchical compression and affinity-based data placement scheme to co-locate related vectors within the same page, effectively reducing fragmentation and over-fetching. We further design a record-level buffer pool, where each record groups the neighbors of a vector; by persistently retaining hot records in memory, it eliminates excessive page swapping under constrained memory budgets. To minimize CPU scheduling overheads during disk I/O interruptions, VeloANN employs a coroutine-based asynchronous runtime for lightweight task scheduling. On top of this, it incorporates asynchronous prefetching and a beam-aware search strategy to prioritize cached data, ultimately improving overall search efficiency. Extensive experiments show that VeloANN outperforms state-of-the-art disk-based ANN systems by up to 5.8x in throughput and 3.25x in latency reduction, while achieving 0.92x the throughput of in-memory systems using only 10% of their memory footprint.

Multimodal Multi-Agent Empowered Legal Judgment Prediction

Legal Judgment Prediction (LJP) aims to predict the outcomes of legal cases based on factual descriptions, serving as a fundamental task to advance the development of legal systems. Traditional methods often rely on statistical analyses or role-based simulations but face challenges with multiple allegations, diverse evidence, and lack adaptability. In this paper, we introduce JurisMMA, a novel framework for LJP that effectively decomposes trial tasks, standardizes processes, and organizes them into distinct stages. Furthermore, we build JurisMM, a large dataset with over 100,000 recent Chinese judicial records, including both text and multimodal video-text data, enabling comprehensive evaluation. Experiments on JurisMM and the benchmark LawBench validate our framework's effectiveness. These results indicate that our framework is effective not only for LJP but also for a broader range of legal applications, offering new perspectives for the development of future legal methods and datasets.

Rotational Soft Modes and Octahedral Distortion as Design Principles for Ultralow Thermal Conductivity in Halide Materials

We establish that ultralow lattice thermal conductivity in halide perovskites and related octahedral framework materials arises from two distinct and complementary mechanisms: (i) halogen-halogen-enabled rotational soft modes that reshape the low-frequency spectrum and intensify phonon scattering, and (ii) static octahedral distortions that further enhance anharmonicity and reduce phonon lifetimes. Using first-principles calculations on CsPbBr3, we demonstrate that Br-Br interactions induce rotational soft modes that decongest the phonon spectrum and enhance three- and four-phonon scattering, strongly suppressing particle-like thermal conductivity (kappa_p). Independently, static octahedral distortions further reduce kappa_p by amplifying anharmonicity while leaving wave-like conductivity (kappa_c) intact. Based on these mechanistic insights, we introduce a geometric distortion factor rho and perform a high-throughput screening that first selects materials with halogen-coordinated octahedral building blocks-ensuring the presence of rotational soft modes-and then identifies those with pronounced distortion. This strategy uncovers TaGaI8 with an ultralow kappa_L = 0.11 W/mK at room temperature. This work establishes halogen-halogen-enabled rotational soft modes and octahedral distortions as transferable design principles for octahedra-containing halides, spanning both extended frameworks and molecular-cluster motifs, for discovering ultralow-kappa_L materials.

Analytic Conformal Blocks of $C_2$-cofinite Vertex Operator Algebras III: The Sewing-Factorization Theorems

Let $\mathbb V=\bigoplus_{n\in\mathbb N}\mathbb V(n)$ be a $C_2$-cofinite VOA, not necessarily rational or self-dual. In this paper, we establish various versions of the sewing-factorization (SF) theorems for conformal blocks associated to grading-restricted generalized modules of $\mathbb V^{\otimes N}$ (where $N\in\mathbb N$). In addition to the versions announced in the Introduction of [GZ23], we prove the following coend version of the SF theorem: Let $\mathfrak F$ be a compact Riemann surface with $N$ incoming and $R$ outgoing marked points, and let $\mathfrak G$ be another compact Riemann surface with $K$ incoming and $R$ outgoing marked points. Assign $\mathbb W\in\mathrm{Mod}(\mathbb V^{\otimes N})$ and $\mathbb X\in\mathrm{Mod}(\mathbb V^{\otimes K})$ to the incoming marked points of $\mathfrak F$ and $\mathfrak G$ respectively. For each $\mathbb{M} \in \mathrm{Mod}(\mathbb{V}^{\otimes R})$, assign $\mathbb{M}$ and its contragredient $\mathbb M'$ to the outgoing marked points of $\mathfrak F$ and $\mathfrak G$ respectively. Denote the corresponding spaces of conformal blocks by $\mathscr T_{\mathfrak F}^*(\mathbb M\otimes\mathbb W)$ and $\mathscr T_{\mathfrak{G}}^*(\mathbb M'\otimes\mathbb X)$. Let the $\mathfrak X$ be the $(N+K)$-pointed surface obtained by sewing $\mathfrak F$, $\mathfrak G$ along their outgoing marked points. Then the sewing of conformal blocks-proved to be convergent in [GZ25a]-yields an isomorphism of vector spaces $$\int^{\mathbb{M}\in\mathrm{Mod}(\mathbb V^{\otimes R})}\mathscr T_{\mathfrak F}^*(\mathbb M\otimes\mathbb{W})\otimes_{\mathbb C} \mathscr T_{\mathfrak G}^*(\mathbb M'\otimes \mathbb X)\simeq\mathscr T_{\mathfrak X}^*(\mathbb W\otimes \mathbb X)$$ We also discuss the relationship between conformal blocks and the modular functors defined using Lyubashenko's coend/construction.

High-Precision Measurement of D($γ$, $n$)$p$ Photodisintegration Reaction and Implications for Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis

We report on a high-precision measurement of the D($γ$,\,$n$)$p$ photodisintegration reaction at the newly commissioned Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source (SLEGS), employing a quasi-monochromatic $γ$-ray beam from Laser Compton Scattering. The cross sections were determined over $E_γ$=2.327--7.089 MeV, achieving up to a factor of 2.2 improvement in precision near the neutron separation threshold. Combined with previous data in a global Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) analysis using dibaryon effective field theory, we obtained the unprecedentedly precise $p$($n$,\,$γ$)D cross sections and thermonuclear rate, with a precision up to $\approx$4 times higher than previous evaluations. Implemented in a standard Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) framework, this new rate decreases uncertainty of the key cosmological parameter of baryon density $Ω_b h^2$ by up to $\approx$16\% relative to the LUNA result. A residual $\approx$1.2$σ$ tension between $Ω_b h^2$ constrained from primordial D/H observations and CMB measurements persists, highlighting the need for improved $dd$ reaction rates and offering potential hints of new physics beyond the standard model of cosmology.

Nonperturbative Semiclassical Spin Dynamics for Ordered Quantum Magnets

In ordered quantum magnets where interactions between elementary excitations dominate over their kinetic energy, perturbative approaches often fail, making non-perturbative methods essential to capture spectral features such as bound states and the redistribution of weight within excitation continua. Although an increasing number of experiments report anomalous spin excitation continua in such systems, their microscopic interpretation remains an open challenge. Here, we investigate the spin dynamics of the triangular-lattice antiferromagnet in its 1/3-plateau phase using two complementary non-perturbative approaches: exact diagonalization in a truncated Hilbert space for a gas of elementary excitations (THED) and matrix product state (MPS) simulations. Alongside cross-validation between these methods, we benchmark our results against inelastic neutron scattering (INS) data. The THED analysis confirms the presence of two-magnon bound states and identifies the anomalous scattering continuum observed in both MPS and INS as a two-magnon resonance, arising from hybridization between the bound state and the two-magnon continuum. Furthermore, THED reveals bound states overlapping with the continuum, enriching the interpretation of continuum anomalies. More broadly, THED provides a robust framework for investigating anomalous spin excitation continua and bound-state effects in other materials with gapped spectra. Its combination of accuracy and computational efficiency makes it a powerful tool for extracting reliable microscopic models in semiclassical regimes.

Hesitation and Tolerance in Recommender Systems

Users' interactions with recommender systems often involve more than simple acceptance or rejection. We highlight two overlooked states: hesitation, when people deliberate without certainty, and tolerance, when this hesitation escalates into unwanted engagement before ending in disinterest. Across two large-scale surveys (N=6,644 and N=3,864), hesitation was nearly universal, and tolerance emerged as a recurring source of wasted time, frustration, and diminished trust. Analyses of e-commerce and short-video platforms confirm that tolerance behaviors, such as clicking without purchase or shallow viewing, correlate with decreased activity. Finally, an online field study at scale shows that even lightweight strategies treating tolerance as distinct from interest can improve retention while reducing wasted effort. By surfacing hesitation and tolerance as consequential states, this work reframes how recommender systems should interpret feedback, moving beyond clicks and dwell time toward designs that respect user value, reduce hidden costs, and sustain engagement.

Quantitative measurements of the lift force acting on a sphere sliding along a liquid-liquid interface

This work explores the lift force experienced by a particle moving in a viscous fluid near a liquid-liquid interface. The lift force is induced by the interaction between the viscous flow generated by the particle's motion and the deformation of the soft interface. The factors influencing the lift force including the velocity, the viscosity, and the sphere radius, and the separation distance were systematically studied. The experiments demonstrate that the lift force intensifies as the particle approaches the interface, and saturates at shorter distances. These findings are consistent with predictions made using soft lubrication theory and numerical calculations, providing strong validation for the theoretical framework.

SmartGuard: Leveraging Large Language Models for Network Attack Detection through Audit Log Analysis and Summarization

End-point monitoring solutions are widely deployed in today's enterprise environments to support advanced attack detection and investigation. These monitors continuously record system-level activities as audit logs and provide deep visibility into security events. Unfortunately, existing methods of semantic analysis based on audit logs have low granularity, only reaching the system call level, making it difficult to effectively classify highly covert behaviors. Additionally, existing works mainly match audit log streams with rule knowledge bases describing behaviors, which heavily rely on expertise and lack the ability to detect unknown attacks and provide interpretive descriptions. In this paper, we propose SmartGuard, an automated method that combines abstracted behaviors from audit event semantics with large language models. SmartGuard extracts specific behaviors (function level) from incoming system logs and constructs a knowledge graph, divides events by threads, and combines event summaries with graph embeddings to achieve information diagnosis and provide explanatory narratives through large language models. Our evaluation shows that SmartGuard achieves an average F1 score of 96\% in assessing malicious behaviors and demonstrates good scalability across multiple models and unknown attacks. It also possesses excellent fine-tuning capabilities, allowing experts to assist in timely system updates.
