Antidot superlattices in two-dimensional topological insulators

We investigate the electronic properties of a two-dimensional topological insulator patterned with an array of circular holes. The band structures of the topological insulator superlattices are calculated using the Bernevig-Hughes-Zhang model, discretized with the finite element method. The band topology is studied using the Fukui-Hatsugai-Suzuki method, exploiting the fact that topological charge is conserved when a band gap closes and reopens. We find that when the holes are close to each other and the edge states overlap significantly, the material loses its topological character and becomes a trivial insulator. The results show that patterning topological insulators changes their properties, and this can be achieved with a feature size compatible with current lithographic techniques. This shows the potential to incorporate patterned topological insulators in future electronics.

UniPhysGen: Unified Physical Grounding for Simulation-Ready 3D Assets

Physically grounded 3D assets are increasingly important for embodied AI and robotic simulation. However, most existing 3D assets lack unified physical semantics, including articulation semantics and intrinsic physical properties, required for realistic interaction. Current approaches either treat these semantics independently or rely on canonicalized object structures, limiting robustness across heterogeneous 3D assets. We present UniPhys, a scalable framework for automatically transforming raw 3D assets into simulation-ready assets with unified physical semantics. Based on UniPhys, we construct UniPhys-40K, a large-scale physically grounded dataset, together with UniPhys-Bench, a carefully verified benchmark for unified physical grounding evaluation. We further introduce UniPhysGen, a unified physical grounding model that jointly reasons over articulation semantics and intrinsic physical properties. UniPhysGen incorporates geometry-robust articulation grounding to mitigate geometric shortcut bias under heterogeneous part decompositions. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance across articulation grounding and intrinsic physical property estimation tasks, while the resulting assets can be directly deployed in robotic simulation environments for realistic physical interaction. Our code and dataset will be available at https://github.com/breezexian/UniPhysGen.

SMART-Ship: A Comprehensive Synchronized Multi-modal Aligned Remote Sensing Targets Dataset and Benchmark for Berthed Ships Analysis

Given the limitations of satellite orbits and imaging conditions, multi-modal remote sensing (RS) data is crucial in enabling long-term earth observation. However, maritime surveillance remains challenging due to the complexity of multi-scale targets and the dynamic environments. To bridge this critical gap, we propose a Synchronized Multi-modal Aligned Remote sensing Targets dataset for berthed ships analysis (SMART-Ship), containing spatiotemporal registered images with fine-grained annotation for maritime targets from five modalities: visible-light, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), panchromatic, multi-spectral, and near-infrared. Specifically, our dataset consists of 1092 multi-modal image sets, covering 38,838 ships. Each image set is acquired within one week and registered to ensure spatiotemporal consistency. Ship instances in each set are annotated with polygonal location information, fine-grained categories, instance-level identifiers, and change region masks, organized hierarchically to support diverse multi-modal RS tasks. Furthermore, we define standardized benchmarks on five fundamental tasks and comprehensively compare representative methods across the dataset. Thorough experiment evaluations validate that the proposed SMART-Ship dataset could support various multi-modal RS interpretation tasks and reveal the promising directions for further exploration.

MITracker: Multi-View Integration for Visual Object Tracking

Multi-view object tracking (MVOT) offers promising solutions to challenges such as occlusion and target loss, which are common in traditional single-view tracking. However, progress has been limited by the lack of comprehensive multi-view datasets and effective cross-view integration methods. To overcome these limitations, we compiled a Multi-View object Tracking (MVTrack) dataset of 234K high-quality annotated frames featuring 27 distinct objects across various scenes. In conjunction with this dataset, we introduce a novel MVOT method, Multi-View Integration Tracker (MITracker), to efficiently integrate multi-view object features and provide stable tracking outcomes. MITracker can track any object in video frames of arbitrary length from arbitrary viewpoints. The key advancements of our method over traditional single-view approaches come from two aspects: (1) MITracker transforms 2D image features into a 3D feature volume and compresses it into a bird's eye view (BEV) plane, facilitating inter-view information fusion; (2) we propose an attention mechanism that leverages geometric information from fused 3D feature volume to refine the tracking results at each view. MITracker outperforms existing methods on the MVTrack and GMTD datasets, achieving state-of-the-art performance. The code and the new dataset will be available at https://mii-laboratory.github.io/MITracker/.

DCIM-AVSR : Efficient Audio-Visual Speech Recognition via Dual Conformer Interaction Module

Speech recognition is the technology that enables machines to interpret and process human speech, converting spoken language into text or commands. This technology is essential for applications such as virtual assistants, transcription services, and communication tools. The Audio-Visual Speech Recognition (AVSR) model enhances traditional speech recognition, particularly in noisy environments, by incorporating visual modalities like lip movements and facial expressions. While traditional AVSR models trained on large-scale datasets with numerous parameters can achieve remarkable accuracy, often surpassing human performance, they also come with high training costs and deployment challenges. To address these issues, we introduce an efficient AVSR model that reduces the number of parameters through the integration of a Dual Conformer Interaction Module (DCIM). In addition, we propose a pre-training method that further optimizes model performance by selectively updating parameters, leading to significant improvements in efficiency. Unlike conventional models that require the system to independently learn the hierarchical relationship between audio and visual modalities, our approach incorporates this distinction directly into the model architecture. This design enhances both efficiency and performance, resulting in a more practical and effective solution for AVSR tasks.
