Fully multiplexed photonic tensor computing

Tensor operations dominate modern computational workloads, yet their further acceleration demands hardware platforms with greater parallelism. Although photonic computing provides a compelling route for parallel processing, fully exploiting all native multiplexing dimensions of optical fields is impeded by the challenges in routing and programming light in all dimensions simultaneously. Here we introduce FieldCore, a fully multiplexed photonic tensor core that jointly harnesses wavelength, radio-frequency, guided-mode, time and space dimensions, thereby enabling parallelism to scale multiplicatively within a single optical field. Enabled by inverse-designed silicon photonics, FieldCore preserves a uniform programmed computation across all multiplexed channels in parallel. Experimentally, we validate and benchmark its performance from ultra-high-baudrate arithmetic operations to high-fidelity image convolution and parallel handwritten-digit recognition. We further use FieldCore to unlock applications that naturally require high-dimensional data processing, such as high-dimensional hyperspectral classification and massively parallel mechanical fault diagnosis. Our FieldCore supports an estimated aggregate compute throughput of 69.12 tera operations per second (TOPS) and accommodates up to 1,800 parallel input streams within a single core, establishing a scalable paradigm for fully multiplexed photonic tensor computing and AI inference.

A Scoping Review of LLM-as-a-Judge in Healthcare and the MedJUDGE Framework

As large language models (LLMs) increasingly generate and process clinical text, scalable evaluation has become critical. LLM-as-a-Judge (LaaJ), which uses LLMs to evaluate model outputs, offers a scalable alternative to costly expert review, but its healthcare adoption raises safety and bias concerns. We conducted a PRISMA-ScR scoping review of six databases (January 2020-January 2026), screening 11,727 studies and including 49. The landscape was dominated by evaluation and benchmarking applications (n=37, 75.5%), pointwise scoring (n=42, 85.7%), and GPT-family judges (n=36, 73.5%). Despite growing adoption, validation rigor was limited: among 36 studies with human involvement, the median number of expert validators was 3, while 13 (26.5%) used none. Risk of bias testing was absent in 36 studies (73.5%), only 1 (2.0%) examined demographic fairness, and none assessed temporal stability or patient context. Deployment remained limited, with 1 study (2.0%) reaching production and four (8.2%) prototype stage. Importantly, these gaps may interact: when judges and evaluated systems share training data or architectures, they may inherit similar blind spots, and agreement metrics may fail to distinguish true validity from shared errors. Minimal human oversight, limited bias assessment, and model monoculture together represent a governance gap where current validation may miss clinically significant errors. To address this, we propose MedJUDGE (Medical Judge Utility, De-biasing, Governance and Evaluation), a risk-stratified three-pillar framework organized around validity, safety, and accountability across clinical risk tiers, providing deployment-oriented evaluation guidance for healthcare LaaJ systems.

From Data Behavior to Code Analysis: A Multimodal Study on Security and Privacy Challenges in Blockchain-Based DApp

The recent proliferation of blockchain-based decentralized applications (DApp) has catalyzed transformative advancements in distributed systems, with extensive deployments observed across financial, entertainment, media, and cybersecurity domains. These trustless architectures, characterized by their decentralized nature and elimination of third-party intermediaries, have garnered substantial institutional attention. Consequently, the escalating security challenges confronting DApp demand rigorous scholarly investigation. This study initiates with a systematic analysis of behavioral patterns derived from empirical DApp datasets, establishing foundational insights for subsequent methodological developments. The principal security vulnerabilities in Ethereum-based smart contracts developed via Solidity are then critically examined. Specifically, reentrancy vulnerability attacks are addressed by formally representing contract logic using highly expressive code fragments. This enables precise source code-level detection via bidirectional long short-term memory networks with attention mechanisms (BLSTM-ATT). Regarding privacy preservation challenges, contemporary solutions are evaluated through dual analytical lenses: identity privacy preservation and transaction anonymity enhancement, while proposing future research trajectories in cryptographic obfuscation techniques.

Discriminative and Robust Online Learning for Siamese Visual Tracking

The problem of visual object tracking has traditionally been handled by variant tracking paradigms, either learning a model of the object's appearance exclusively online or matching the object with the target in an offline-trained embedding space. Despite the recent success, each method agonizes over its intrinsic constraint. The online-only approaches suffer from a lack of generalization of the model they learn thus are inferior in target regression, while the offline-only approaches (e.g., convolutional siamese trackers) lack the target-specific context information thus are not discriminative enough to handle distractors, and robust enough to deformation. Therefore, we propose an online module with an attention mechanism for offline siamese networks to extract target-specific features under L2 error. We further propose a filter update strategy adaptive to treacherous background noises for discriminative learning, and a template update strategy to handle large target deformations for robust learning. Effectiveness can be validated in the consistent improvement over three siamese baselines: SiamFC, SiamRPN++, and SiamMask. Beyond that, our model based on SiamRPN++ obtains the best results over six popular tracking benchmarks and can operate beyond real-time.
