Geometrical Models and Hadronic Radii

By using electromagnetic form factors predicted by Generalized Chou Yang model (GCYM), we compute root mean square (rms) radii of several hadrons with varying strangeness content (number of strange quarks/anti-quarks) such as (pion, proton, phi0, Lambda0, Sigma+, Sigma- and Omega-) The computed radii are found quite consistent with the experimental results and those from other models (for pion and proton). For hadrons other than pion and proton, the experimental results are not available and also the GCYM and other models results are not consistent with each other. The computed rms radii (from GCYM and other models) indicate that rms radii decrease with increase in strangeness content, separately for mesons and baryons. The experimental results of hadrons other than pion and proton will throw more light on the suitability of GCYM and other models.

Equalization of Response Functions of SK and SNO

We have studied the equalization of the response functions of the SK and SNO for total event rate and event rate for the energy bins. To calculate the response functions of SNO, we have used the latest theoretical values of the cross section of the neutrino-deuteron CC process. By using these new theoretical values, we find that the trigger threshold of the SK at which its response function is equalized to the response function of SNO (at the trigger threshold of 6.75 MeV), is 8.5 MeV. This value is 0.1 MeV smaller than the value calculated using the old theoretical values of the cross section of neutrino-deuteron process. The use of these new theoretical values also produces a small change in the range of the energy bins where the response functions are equalized.

Total Cross Section at Cosmic Ray Energies

Recent analysis of the cosmic ray data together with earlier experimental measurements at ISR and SPS provides us a sound footing to discuss the behavior of total cross section at asymptotic energies. We will study the growth of total cross section at high energies in the light of various theoretical approaches with special reference to measurements at RHIC and LHC.

Present Status of epsilon'/epsilon

We give the recent experimental results and theoretical analysis of CP violating ratio epsilon'/epsilon. The present status is discussed in the light of the standard model.
