Charged Kerr--Levi-Civita geometries in Einstein--Maxwell and low-energy heterotic string theory

We construct and compare two charged rotating extensions of the Kerr--Levi-Civita geometry. In Einstein--Maxwell theory, a fixed magnetic Kerr--Newman Ernst representative is inverted, and covariance of the coupled Ernst equations, integrability of the dragging and electric-potential quadratures, and the field equations are verified. The resulting local line element agrees with a strong-field representative obtained independently, but no global equivalence of the azimuthal quotients is assumed. In low-energy heterotic string theory, the Hassan--Sen map is instead applied after the vacuum Kerr--Levi-Civita inversion, generating Maxwell, dilaton, and Kalb--Ramond fields. Both branches possess regular local Killing horizons. For the Einstein--Maxwell branch, an exact denominator factorization proves that the subextreme exterior contains neither Ernst zeros nor azimuthal closed timelike curves. The former Kerr ring has finite curvature, although it lies inside an interior region of timelike azimuthal orbits. Its Kretschmann scalar has the form $8\mathcal P_{\rm N}/\mathcal H^6$ and approaches a parameter-independent Levi-Civita law at fixed off-axis latitude. The heterotic branch is qualitatively different: the real component connected to the horizon terminates at a finite-radius $Λ=0$ surface. Exact string-frame slice factorizations and independent Einstein-frame calculations show that this surface is a curvature singularity rather than a conformal-frame artifact. Both families are generically Petrov type I. The results distinguish exact local solution generation from the unresolved construction of complete global spacetimes and the identification of possible distributional sources.

Kerr--NUT--Levi-Civita geometries from Ernst inversion: axis structure, curvature singularities, and the Manko--Ruiz parameter

We construct and analyze stationary, axisymmetric vacuum metrics obtained by magnetic Ernst inversion of Kerr-NUT with Manko-Ruiz parameter $C$ and pre-inversion twist constant $β$. The transformation lies in the Ehlers orbit; our contribution is the NUT-dependent geometry and the roles of $C$ and $β$ in its axis, horizon, singularity, and azimuthal-CTC structure. The inversion preserves the canonical Weyl radius, the signed WLP numerator $F$, and the sign of $g_{ϕϕ}$ on regular domains. At the selected pole $x=σ$, $C=-σ$, the local axis condition and conicity are controlled by $χ_σ^{(β)}=β-2m(2σa+3l)$. Exterior zeros of the chosen seed Ernst representative obey the exact criterion $-β\in\mathcal{R}_C$; for the sampled families numerical traces yield half-line ranges with closed-form corner endpoints. For $D=a^2+l^2-2alC\ne0$, $Λ_βΣ$ has a finite nonzero seed-ring limit. High-precision calculations find direction-independent finite limits of both quadratic Weyl invariants along the sampled rays, without establishing $C^2$-extendibility. At $β=0$, exterior simple Ernst zeros are found for the sampled $C=-1,0$ cases but not for $C=+1$, consistently with the computed ranges. Near one zero the Kretschmann scalar has a generic sixth-order blow-up; a numerical angular scan identifies exceptional directions of lower order. All sampled points in the regular ($g_{ϕϕ}>0$) exterior are Petrov type I. Candidate horizon locations remain those of Kerr-NUT, and the asymptotics are Levi-Civita type.

Zipoy--Voorhees spacetime with Maxwell and dilaton fields: exact solution and equatorial geodesics

We derive a new exact solution of four-dimensional Kaluza-Klein theory by applying the uplift-boost-reduction procedure to the Zipoy-Voorhees vacuum seed. The resulting Zipoy-Voorhees-dilaton spacetime is a static, axisymmetric, asymptotically flat configuration parametrised by a seed length scale $M$, the Zipoy-Voorhees deformation parameter $k$, and a boost parameter $α$ that controls the electric charge. For $k=1$ it admits a regular black-hole interpretation; for $k \neq 1$ it inherits the naked curvature singularity of the seed at $r=2M$. We extract the ADM mass, electric charge, and dilaton charge, finding that the dilaton charge obeys an algebraic constraint independent of the quadrupole deformation. The equatorial geodesics of neutral test particles and photons are studied in detail. A compact algebraic identity locates the exterior-photon-ring threshold at $k=1/2$ for all $α$, generalising the known threshold of the vacuum Zipoy-Voorhees case. The innermost stable circular orbit is mapped over the $(k,α)$ plane, and the comparison with Schwarzschild is shown to depend qualitatively on whether seed-mass or ADM-mass units are used. We further compute the gravitational redshift, which diverges on the $r=2M$ surface and renders the near-singularity orbits effectively invisible, and the critical impact parameter setting the characteristic shadow size, which in ADM-mass units shrinks below the Schwarzschild value as the charge grows.

Leading weak-field magnetic corrections to charged scalar quasinormal modes of Kerr black holes in the Melvin--Kerr geometry

We compute the leading magnetic corrections to the charged-scalar quasinormal-mode (QNM) spectrum of a Kerr black hole immersed in a weak external magnetic field, working in the Melvin--Kerr geometry and in the gauge in which the time component of the electromagnetic potential vanishes at large radius. Within the controlled $\mathcal{O}(bq)$ truncation, the charged Klein--Gordon equation separates and the radial problem takes the massive-scalar Kerr form under the effective-mass substitution $\mueff^{2}\equivμ^{2}+2qbm$, applied to the asymptotic mass exponent and to the spheroidicity parameter. This gives a parameter-deformed Dolan continued-fraction scheme, with no further finite-radius correction at the order retained. Since the Melvin--Kerr spacetime is not asymptotically flat, the resulting spectrum is not the exact global QNM spectrum of the full magnetized spacetime: the modes are weak-field deviations of Kerr ringdown modes, defined by outgoing boundary conditions in the intermediate Kerr-like region $r_{+}\ll r\ll b^{-1}$. The unmagnetized backbone reproduces Dolan's tabulated spectra at the $10^{-6}$ level for $a\le 0.5M$. For $\ell=1$, $μM\in\{0,0.3\}$, $a/M\in\{0.3,0.5\}$, $qM=0.1$, and $bM\le 10^{-2}$, the magnetic shift in $\Re(\Mw)$ is opposite in sign between the two rotating sectors of equal $|m|$: upward for $m=+1$, downward for $m=-1$, and linear in $qb$. The sign and sector-dependent magnitude of each shift are quantitatively reproduced by the unmagnetized slope $\partial\Re(\Mw)/\partial(μM)^{2}$ evaluated per sector, confirming that the magnetic effect is fully transmitted through the master substitution. Effective-potential diagnostics and an extension to $\ell=2$ confirm the picture.

Meissner Effect in Kerr--Bertotti--Robinson Spacetime

We establish the black-hole Meissner effect for extremal Kerr--Bertotti--Robinson (Kerr--BR) black holes, which are exact solutions of the Einstein--Maxwell equations describing a rotating black hole immersed in a uniform Bertotti--Robinson electromagnetic universe. Using the near-horizon framework of Bičák and Hejda, we prove that for a purely magnetic external BR field the horizon-threading magnetic flux vanishes in the static limit of the near-horizon geometry, i.e.\ as the twist parameter $k\to 0$ when $Ba\to 1^-$, thereby establishing the Meissner effect analytically. The proof relies on two exact identities that hold at extremality for all values of the external field: $Ω_x|_{r_e}=0$ and $Ω_r|_{r_e}=B^2 a$, both consequences of the double-root structure of the horizon function $Δ$. Together they force the azimuthal gauge potential $A_ϕ|_{r_e}$ to become independent of the polar angle in the static limit, reducing to a pure-gauge constant on the horizon $S^2$ and expelling all magnetic flux. The Kerr--BR result is contrasted with the Kerr--Melvin family, where the static limit occurs at a finite interior field strength, and with the Melvin--Kerr--Newman--Taub--NUT spacetime, where the NUT parameter is known to prevent expulsion. An independent geometric argument based on the logarithmic divergence of the proper throat length corroborates the result, and its implications for Blandford--Znajek jet suppression near extremality are discussed.

Melvin-Zipoy-Voorhees Spacetime and Circular Orbits

We construct an exact magnetized generalization of the Zipoy-Voorhees spacetime by applying the magnetic Harrison transformation to a static seed with quadrupolar deformation parameter $k$. The resulting Melvin-Zipoy-Voorhees metric is a solution to the Einstein-Maxwell equations that interpolates between the unmagnetized Zipoy-Voorhees geometry and the Melvin magnetic universe. We analyze the algebraic structure, finding the spacetime to be generically of Petrov type I, and investigate the equatorial dynamics of charged test particles and photons. Our analysis reveals that the external magnetic field $b$ induces a ``Lorentz shift'' in the effective angular momentum, suppressing the potential barrier and causing the Innermost Stable Circular Orbit (ISCO) to migrate inward. In contrast, the radius of the photon ring shifts slightly outward with increasing magnetization.

Kerr-Bertotti-Robinson Spacetime and the Kerr/CFT Correspondence

We construct the Kerr/CFT correspondence for extremal Kerr--Bertotti--Robinson (Kerr--BR) black holes, which are exact stationary solutions of the Einstein--Maxwell equations describing a rotating black hole immersed in a uniform Bertotti--Robinson electromagnetic universe. After reviewing the geometry, horizon structure, and thermodynamics of the Kerr--BR family, we demonstrate that the external field non-trivially modifies both the horizon positions and the extremality condition. For extremal configurations, the near-horizon limit yields a warped $\mathrm{AdS}_3$ geometry with an associated Maxwell field aligned to the $U(1)$ fibration. Imposing standard Kerr/CFT boundary conditions, the asymptotic symmetry algebra gives rise to a Virasoro algebra with central charge $c_L$ and left-moving temperature $T_L$ that depend explicitly on the external field strength. The Cardy formula then reproduces exactly the Bekenstein--Hawking entropy of the extremal Kerr--BR black hole for any admissible value of the Bertotti--Robinson field, thereby establishing a consistent Kerr/CFT dual description. Comparisons with the magnetized Melvin--Kerr and Kaluza--Klein black holes are briefly discussed, highlighting qualitative differences in their curvature profiles and horizon geometries.

Magnetized black holes in Kaluza-Klein theory and the Kerr/CFT correspondence

In this work, we examine the Kerr/CFT correspondence for magnetized black holes arising from Kaluza--Klein theory, demonstrating that Kerr/CFT holography persists beyond the traditional Einstein--Maxwell framework. Notably, unlike in the Einstein--Maxwell case, the massless neutral scalar field equation here is fully separable into radial and angular parts. This separability reveals a hidden conformal symmetry in the near--horizon, low--frequency regime, providing further support for the robustness of Kerr/CFT dualities in extended gravitational theories.

Shadows for Kerr-Sen-Taub-NUT black holes with Manko-Ruiz parameter

In this paper, we explore the Kerr-Sen-Taub-NUT spacetime with the inclusion of the Manko-Ruiz parameter. We demonstrate the separability of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation for a classical test particle in this spacetime and, using the null Hamilton-Jacobi equation, derive a set of equations that define the black hole shadow boundary. Our analysis reveals that the shadow shape is influenced by variations in the spacetime parameters, including the Hassan-Sen transformation parameter, which corresponds to the black hole electric charge, as well as the NUT charge and rotational parameter. Additionally, we highlight the impact of the Manko-Ruiz parameter on the shadow deformation, offering new insights into its role in shaping the Kerr-Sen-Taub-NUT spacetime geometry.

Weakly magnetized black holes in Einstein-ModMax theory

Theories of non-linear electrodynamics inherently describe deviations from Maxwell theory in the strong field regime. Among these, ModMax electrodynamics stands out as a unique one-parameter generalization of Maxwell theory that preserves both conformal invariance and electromagnetic duality. In this paper, we investigate the extension of Wald's magnetization within the framework of Einstein-ModMax theory, concentrating on static charged and accelerating black holes. Additionally, we examine the influence of external magnetic fields on the motion of charged test particles in the vicinity of a charged black hole.

Accelerating Kerr-Taub-NUT spacetime in the low energy limit of heterotic string theory

We construct a novel solution in the low energy limit of heterotic string theory describing accelerating charged and rotating black holes with NUT parameter. Some aspects of the new spacetime are discussed, such as locations of horizons, ergoregions, conic singularity, closed timelike curves, and area temperature product. We find some of the properties resemble the ones belong to accelerating Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetime.

Relaxation rate of ModMax-de Sitter black holes perturbed by massless neutral scalar fields

In this study, we investigate the behavior of ModMax-de Sitter black holes when perturbed by massless neutral scalar fields. Specifically, we analyze how the relaxation time, defined as the inverse of the fundamental imaginary frequency, varies with respect to two key parameters: the cosmological constant and the nonlinear parameter characterizing the ModMax theory. We explore scenarios both with and without a cosmological constant, focusing on the static charged ModMax black hole configuration. Our results reveal dependencies between the relaxation time and the nonlinear parameter, shedding light on the dynamical properties of these black hole systems. We also show the validity of WKB approximation under consideration.

Accelerating Kaluza-Klein black hole and Kerr/CFT correspondence

We construct a new solution in the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory describing accelerating, charged, and rotating black hole, i.e. the accelerating Kaluza-Klein black hole. Some properties the spacetime are discussed, such as the electromagnetic fields, the area-temperature product, and the holography according to Kerr/CFT correspondence. As expected, the macroscopic Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for an extremal accelerating Kaluza-Klein black hole can be recovered by using Cardy formula of a two dimensional conformal field theory. An interesting feature is found, namely the area-temperature product is just the the one belongs to the vacuum Einstein seed solution.

Meissner effect and holographic dual for the Melvin-Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetimes

We investigate correspondence between the Melvin-Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetime, and the conformal field theory. The near horizon geometry of extremal Melvin-Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT spacetime possesses the $SL\left(2,{\mathbb R}\right)\times U\left(1\right)$ isometry, which allows one to employ the asymptotic symmetry group method, in establishing the holographic correspondence for the spacetime. We also use the alternative way of the stretched horizon method, to compute the extremal entropy of the black hole. We find perfect agreement between the results of asymptotic symmetry group and the stretched horizon methods, to establish the holography for the extremal Melvin-Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT black hole. The black hole Meissner effect for the Melvin-Kerr-Taub-NUT black hole is also discussed.

Spontaneous pair production near magnetized Reissner-Nordstrom black holes

We investigate the pair production near a (near) extremal magnetized Reissner-Nordstrom black hole. The pair production is shown to exist in the extremal state, which can be interpreted as the Schwinger effect due to the strong field under consideration. To show a correspondence between the growth of the external magnetic field and the scalar absorption, some numerical examples are provided.

Hidden conformal symmetry and pair production near the cosmological horizon in Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT-de Sitter spacetime

We show that the study of hidden conformal symmetry that associates to the Kerr/CFT correspondence can also apply to the cosmological horizon in Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT-de Sitter spacetime. This symmetry allows one to employ some two dimensional conformal field theory methods to understand the properties of the cosmological horizon. The entropy can be understood by using the Cardy formula, and the equation for scattering process in the near region has an agreement with the one obtained from a two point function in two dimensional conformal field theory. We also show that pair production can occur near the cosmological horizon in Kerr-Newman-Taub-NUT-de Sitter for near extremal conditions.

Charged Taub-NUT-de Sitter spacetime in DGP braneworld and its thermodynamics

We study a charged Taub-NUT spacetime solution in the DGP brane. We show that the Reissner-Nordstrom-Taub-NUT-de Sitter solution of Einstein-Maxwell gravity solves the corresponding equations of motion, where the cosmological constant is related to the cross-over scale in the DGP model. Following the approach by Teitelboim in discussing the thermodynamics of de Sitter spacetime and the proposal by Wu et al. for a conserved charge associated to the NUT parameter, we obtained the generalized Smarr mass formula and the first law of thermodynamics of the spacetime.

Magnetized Taub-NUT spacetime

We find an exact solution describing the spacetime outside a massive object with NUT parameter embedded in an external magnetic field. To get the solution, we employ the Ernst magnetization transformation to the Taub-NUT metric as the seed solution. The massless limit of this new solution is the Melvin-Taub-NUT spacetime. Some aspects in the magnetized Taub-NUT spacetime are investigated, such as the surface geometry, the existence of closed time like curve, and the electromagnetic properties.
