Chaos motion and Periastron precession of spinning test particles moving in the vicinage of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by a quintessence matter field

In the present work, our main objective is to investigate the orbits of spinning test particles around a Schwarzschild black hole under the influence of a quintessence matter field (SQBH). We begin with the dynamics of the spinning test particles around SQBH which is governed by the Mathisson-Papapetrou-Dixon (MPD) equations under the pole-dipole approximation, where the gravitational field and the higher multipoles of the particle are neglected. Depending on the types of saddle points, the effective potential are classified and the possibility of chaotic orbits is discussed. The inner most stable circular orbits (ISCOs) of the spinning particle around SQBH are addressed, as are the effects of the parameters $S$ (particles' spin) and $ε$ (equation of state parameter). Later, Periastron precession is investigated up to the first-order spin correction for a spinning particle moving in nearly circular orbits around SQBH. It is noted that the addition of particle's spin revamps the results obtained for the non-spinning particles and also articulates the some interesting observational properties of the SQBH. Additionally, we discuss the ramifications of employing first-order spin corrections for analysing ISCOs, as well as compare our results to the Schwarzschild black hole to ensure that they are consistent in the limit when equation of state parameter $ε=-1/3$ and normalization factor $α\to 0$.

Stability analysis of circular orbits around a traversable wormhole with massless conformally coupled scalar field

We study the stability of circular orbits in the background of a traversable wormhole (TWH) spacetime obtained as a solution of Einstein's field equations coupled conformally to a massless scalar field. The Lyapunov stability approach is employed to determine the stability of circular orbits (timelike and null) of non-spinning test particles around a TWH spacetime. In the case of timelike geodesics, the particle is confined to move in four different types of effective potentials depending on various values of the angular momentum L with both centrifugal and gravitational part. The effective potential for null geodesics consists of only a centrifugal part. Further, we characterize each fixed point according to its Lyapunov stability, and thus classify the circular orbits at the fixed point into stable center and unstable saddle points by depicting the corresponding phase-portraits.

Stability of circular geodesics in equatorial plane of Kerr spacetime

We analyze the stability of circular geodesics for timelike as well as null geodesics of the Kerr BH spacetime with rotation parameter on the equatorial plane by Lyapunov stability analysis. Also, we verify the results of stability by presenting the phase portrait for both timelike and null geodesics. Further, by reviewing the Kosambi-Cartan-Chern (KCC) theory, we analyze the Jacobi stability for Kerr spacetime and present a comparative study of the methods used for stability analysis of geodesics.

Geodesic stability and quasinormal modes of non-commutative Schwarzschild black hole employing Lyapunov exponent

We study the dynamics of test particle and stability of circular geodesics in the gravitational field of a non-commutative geometry inspired Schwarzschild black hole spacetime (NCSBH). The coordinate time Lyapunov exponent ($λ_{c}$) is crucial to investigate the stability of equatorial circular geodesics of massive and massless test particles. The stability or instability of circular orbits are discussed by analysing the variation of Lyapunov exponent with radius of these orbits for different values of non-commutative parameter ($α$). In the case of null circular orbits, the instability exponent is calculated and presented to discuss the instability of null circular orbits. Further, by relating parameters corresponding to null circular geodesics (i.e. angular frequency and Lyapunov exponent), the quasinormal modes (QNMs) for a massless scalar field perturbation in the eikonal approximation are evaluated, and also visualised by relating the real and imaginary parts. The nature of scalar field potential, by varying the non-commutative parameter ($α$) and angular momentum of perturbation ($l$), are also observed and discussed.

Stability analysis of circular orbits around a charged BTZ black hole spacetime in a nonlinear electrodynamics model via Lyapunov exponents

We investigate the existence and stability of both the timelike and null circular orbits for a (2+1) dimensional charged BTZ black hole in Einstein-nonlinear Maxwell gravity with a negative cosmological constant. The stability analysis of orbits are performed to study the possibility of chaos in geodesic motion for a special case of black hole so-called conformally invariant Maxwell spacetime. The computations of both proper time Lyapunov exponent ($λ_{p}$) and coordinate time Lyapunov exponent ($λ_{c}$) are useful to determine the stability of these circular orbits. We observe the behavior of the ratio $(λ_{p}/λ_{c})$ as a function of radius of circular orbits for the timelike case in view of different values of charge parameter. However, for the null case, we calculate only the coordinate time Lyapunov exponent ($λ_{c}$) as there is no proper time for massless test particles. More specifically, we further analyze the behavior of the ratio of $λ_{Null}$ to angular frequency ($Ω_{c}$), so-called instability exponent as a function of charge ($q$) and parameter related to cosmological constant ($l$) for the particular values of other parameters.

Geodesics and Bending of Light around a BTZ Black Hole Surrounded by Quintessential Matter

Various observations from cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR), type Ia supernova and baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO) are strongly suggestive of an accelerated expansion of the universe which can be explained by the presence of mysterious energy known as dark energy. The quintessential matter coupled with gravity minimally is considered one of the possible candidates to represents the presence of such dark energy in our universe. In view of this scenario, we study the geodesic of massless particles as well as massive particles around a (2+1) dimensional BTZ black hole (BH) spacetime surrounded by the quintessence. The effect of parameters involved in the deflection of light by such a BH spacetime is investigated in detail. The results obtained are then compared with a usual non-rotating BTZ BH spacetime.

Stability Analysis of Geodesics and Quasinormal Modes of a Dual Stringy Black Hole Via Lyapunov Exponents

We investigate the stability of both timelike as well as null circular geodesics in the vicinity of a dual (3+1) dimensional stringy black hole (BH) spacetime by using an excellent tool so-called Lyapunov exponent. The proper time ($τ$) Lyapunov exponent ($λ_{p}$) and coordinate time ($t$) Lyapunov exponent~($λ_{c}$) are explicitly derived to analyze the stability of equatorial circular geodesics for the stringy BH spacetime with \emph{electric charge} parameter ($α$) and \emph{magnetic charge} parameter~($Q$). By computing these exponents for both the cases of BH spacetime, it is observed that the coordinate time Lyapunov exponent of magnetically charged stringy BH for both timelike and null geodesics are independent of magnetic charge parameter $(Q)$. The variation of the ratio of Lyapunov exponents with radius of timelike circular orbits ($r_{0}/M$) for both the cases of stringy BH are presented. The behavior of instability exponent for null circular geodesics with respect to charge parameters ($α$ and $Q$) are also observed for both the cases of BH. Further, by establishing a relation between quasinormal modes (QNMs) and parameters related to null circular geodesics (like angular frequency and Lyapunov exponent), we deduced the QNMs (or QNM frequencies) for a massless scalar field perturbation around \emph{both} the cases of stringy BH spacetime in the eikonal limit. The variation of scalar field potential with charge parameters and angular momentum of perturbation ($l$) are visually presented and discussed accordingly.

Optical and Thermodynamic Properties of a Rotating Dyonic Black Hole Spacetime in $\mathcal{N} = 2, U(1)^2$ gauged supergravity

The null geodesics and the distance of closest approach for photon around a rotating dyonic black hole in $\mathcal{N} = 2, U(1)^2$ gauged supergravity is studied. The phenomenon of black hole shadows with various black hole parameters has also analyzed. Further, the investigation of various thermodynamic properties for this black hole is performed with various thermodynamic parameters at the horizon. The heat capacity to study the thermodynamic stability of this black hole spacetime is also studied. The influence for different values of the black hole parameters $ ν$, $ e $, $ ν$, $ g $ and $N_{g}$ on the phenomenon of black hole shadows and thermodynamic parameters is also investigated visually.

Deflection of Light Around a Rotating BTZ Black Hole

We present a detailed study of gravitational lensing around a rotating BTZ black hole in (2+1) dimensional gravity. The study of orbits for massless test particle around this BH spacetime is performed to describe the nature of cosmological constant in lower dimensions. We study the effect of cosmological constant on the photon orbit in view of other critical parameters. The bending angle of light is studied in view of different values of cosmological constant for direct and retrograde motion of test particles. It is being observed that the bending angle slightly decreases as the value of cosmological constant increases in the negative region.

Deflection of Light and Shadow Cast by a Dual Charged Stringy Black Hole

Gravitational lensing and black hole shadows are one of the strongest observational evidences to prove the existence of black holes in the universe. The gravitational lensing arises due to the deflection of light by the gravitational field of a gravitating body such as a black hole. Investigation of the shadow cast by a compact object as well as deflection of light around it may provide the useful information about physical nature of the particular compact object and other related aspects. In this paper, we study the deflection of light by a dual charged stringy black hole spacetime derived in dilaton-Maxwell gravity. The variation of deflection angle with the impact parameter for different values of electric and magnetic charges is studied. We also study the shadow of this black hole spacetime to obtain the radius of shadow cast by it. We have considered an optically thin emission disk around it and observed that there are not significant changes in the shadow cast by this black hole compared to well-known Schwarzschild black hole spacetime in GR.

Deflection of Light by a Rotating Black Hole Surrounded by "Quintessence"

We present a detailed analysis of a rotating black hole surrounded by "quintessence". This solution represents a fluid with a constant equation of state, $w$, which can for example describe an effective warm dark matter fluid around a black hole. We clarify the conditions for the existence of such a solution and study its structure by analyzing the existence of horizons as well as the extremal case. We show that the deflection angle produced by the black hole depends on the parameters $(c,w)$ which need to obey the condition $cw<0$ because of the weak energy condition, where $c$ is an additional parameter describing the hair of the black hole. In this context, we found that for $w\simeq 0.1$ (consistent with warm dark matter) and $c<0$, the deviation angle is larger than that in the Kerr spacetime for direct and retrograde orbits. We also derive an exact solution in the case of $w=-1/3$.

Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessential matter field as an accelerator for spinning particles

We study the collision of two massive particles with non-zero intrinsic spin moving in the equatorial plane in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessential matter field (SBHQ). For the quintessential matter equation of state (EOS) parameter, we assume three different values. It is shown that for collisions outside the event horizon, but very close to it, the centre-of-mass energy ($E_{\rm CM}$) can grow without bound if exactly one of the colliding particles is what we call near-critical, i.e., if its constants of motion are fine tuned such that the time component of its four-momentum becomes very small at the horizon. In all other cases, $E_{\rm CM}$ only diverges behind the horizon if we respect the Møller limit on the spin of the particles. We also discuss radial turning points and constraints resulting from the requirement of subluminal motion of the spinning particles.

Particle collisions near static spherically symmetric black holes

It has been shown by Bañados, Silk and West (BSW) that the center of mass energy (E_cm) of test particles starting from rest at infinity and colliding near the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole is always finite. In this communication, we extent the BSW scenario and study two particles with different energies colliding near the horizon of a static spherically symmetric black hole. Surprisingly, we find that even for the static spherically symmetric (i.e., Schwarzschild like) black holes it is possible to obtain an arbitrarily high E cm from the two test particles colliding near the horizon of a black hole, if one fine-tunes the parameters of geodesic motion.

Shear-free conditions of a Chaplygin-Gas-dominated universe

In this work, we revisit the shear-free conjecture of general relativity and show the violation of the well-known shear-free condition for perfect-fluid spacetimes. It had been shown in previous investigations that, in the general relativistic framework, the matter congruences of shear-free perfect fluid spacetimes should be either expansion-free or rotation-free. Our current investigation, however, indicates that a universe dominated by a Chaplygin gas can allow a simultaneous expansion and rotation of the fluid provided that certain non-trivial conditions, which we derive and describe below, are met. We also show that, in the appropriate limiting cases, our results reduce to the expected results of dust spacetimes which can only expand or rotate, but not both, at the same time.

Energy extraction and particle acceleration around a rotating dyonic black hole in $N=2$, $U(1)^2$ gauged supergravity

In the present paper, we explore various gravitational aspects such as energy extraction (via the Penrose process and Superradiance), particle collisions around a $\mathcal{N}=2$, $U(1)^2$ dyonic rotating black hole (BH) in the gauged supergravity model. The impact of the rotation parameter ($a$) and the gauge coupling constant ($g$) on the behaviour of horizon and ergoregion of the BH is studied. It is of interest to note that, compared with the extremal Kerr BH, the gauge coupling constant, under certain constraints, can enhance the maximum efficiency of energy extraction by the Penrose process almost double. Under the same constraints, we can extract approximately 60.75\% of the initial mass energy from the BH which is noticeably higher in contrast to the extremal Kerr BH. The limit of energy extraction in terms of the local speeds of the fragments is also examined with the help of the Wald inequality. We identify an upper limit on the gauge coupling constant up to which the phenomenon of Superradiance is likely to occur. Finally, we computed the center-of-mass energy ($E_{CM}$) of two particles with the same rest masses moving in the equatorial plane of the BH. Our study also aims to sensitize $E_{CM}$ to the rotation parameter and the gauge coupling constant for extremal and nonextremal spacetime as well. Especially, for the extremal case, an infinitely large amount of $E_{CM}$ can be achieved closer to the horizon which allows the BH to serve as a more powerful Planck-energy-scale collider as compared to Kerr and any other generalized BHs in the Kerr family explored so far in general relativity. However, $E_{CM}$ for the nonextremal spacetime is shown to be finite and has an upper bound.

Analytic solutions of the geodesic equation for Reissner-Nordström-(anti-)de Sitter black holes surrounded by different kinds of regular and exotic matter fields

The purpose of this study is the derivation of the equation of motion for particles and light in the spacetime of Reissner-Nordström-(anti-)de Sitter black holes in the background of different kinds of regular and exotic matter fields. The complete analytical solutions of the geodesic equations are given in terms of the elliptic Weierstraß $\wp$-function and the hyperelliptic Kleinian $σ$-function. Finally after analyzing the geodesic motion of test particles and light using parametric diagrams and effective potentials, we present a list of all possible orbits.

Strong lensing and Observables around 5D Myers-Perry black hole spacetime

We study the motion of massless test particles in a five dimensional (5D) Myers-Perry black hole spacetime with two spin parameters. The behaviour of the effective potential in view of different values of black hole parameters is discussed in the equatorial plane. The frequency shift of photons is calculated which is found to depend on the spin parameter of black hole and the observed redshift is discussed accordingly. The deflection angle and the strong deflection limit coefficients are also calculated and their behaviour with the spin parameters is analysed in detail. It is observed that the behaviour of both deflection angle and strong field coefficient differs from Kerr black hole spacetime in four dimensions (4D) in General Relativity (GR) which is mainly due to the presence of two spin parameters in higher dimension.

Bending angle of light in equatorial plane of Kerr-Sen Black Hole

We study the gravitational lensing by a Kerr-Sen Black Hole arising in heterotic string theory. A closed form expression for the bending angle of light in equatorial plane of Kerr-Sen Black Hole is derived as a function of impact parameter, spin and charge of the Black Hole. Results obtained are also compared with the corresponding cases of Kerr Black Hole in general relativity. It is observed that charge parameter behaves qualitatively similar as the spin parameter for photons travelling in direct orbits while behaves differently for photons in retrograde orbits around Black Hole. As the numerical value of the Black Hole charge increases, bending angle becomes larger in strong field limit. Further it is observed that this effect is more pronounced in case of direct orbits in comparison to the retro orbits. For both the direct and retro motion, the bending angle exceeds 2π, which in turn results in multiple loops and formation of relativistic images.
