An integral structure in quantum cohomology and mirror symmetry for toric orbifolds

We introduce an integral structure in orbifold quantum cohomology associated to the K-group and the Gamma-class. In the case of compact toric orbifolds, we show that this integral structure matches with the natural integral structure for the Landau-Ginzburg model under mirror symmetry. By assuming the existence of an integral structure, we give a natural explanation for the specialization to a root of unity in Y. Ruan's crepant resolution conjecture.

Real and integral structures in quantum cohomology I: toric orbifolds

We study real and integral structures in the space of solutions to the quantum differential equations. First we show that, under mild conditions, any real structure in orbifold quantum cohomology yields a pure and polarized tt^*-geometry near the large radius limit. Secondly, we use mirror symmetry to calculate the "most natural" integral structure in quantum cohomology of toric orbifolds. We show that the integral structure pulled back from the singularity B-model is described only in terms of topological data in the A-model; K-group and a characteristic class. Using integral structures, we give a natural explanation why the quantum parameter should specialize to a root of unity in Ruan's crepant resolution conjecture.

Wall-Crossings in Toric Gromov-Witten Theory I: Crepant Examples

Let X be a Gorenstein orbifold and let Y be a crepant resolution of X. We state a conjecture relating the genus-zero Gromov--Witten invariants of X to those of Y, which differs in general from the Crepant Resolution Conjectures of Ruan and Bryan--Graber, and prove our conjecture when X = P(1,1,2) and X = P(1,1,1,3). As a consequence, we see that the original form of the Bryan--Graber Conjecture holds for P(1,1,2) but is probably false for P(1,1,1,3). Our methods are based on mirror symmetry for toric orbifolds.

The Crepant Resolution Conjecture for Type A Surface Singularities

Let X be an orbifold with crepant resolution Y. The Crepant Resolution Conjectures of Ruan and Bryan-Graber assert, roughly speaking, that the quantum cohomology of X becomes isomorphic to the quantum cohomology of Y after analytic continuation in certain parameters followed by the specialization of some of these parameters to roots of unity. We prove these conjectures in the case where X is a surface singularity of type A. The key ingredient is mirror symmetry for toric orbifolds.

Computing Genus-Zero Twisted Gromov-Witten Invariants

Twisted Gromov-Witten invariants are intersection numbers in moduli spaces of stable maps to a manifold or orbifold X which depend in addition on a vector bundle over X and an invertible multiplicative characteristic class. Special cases are closely related to local Gromov-Witten invariants of the bundle, and to genus-zero one-point invariants of complete intersections in X. We develop tools for computing genus-zero twisted Gromov-Witten invariants of orbifolds and apply them to several examples. We prove a "quantum Lefschetz theorem" which expresses genus-zero one-point Gromov-Witten invariants of a complete intersection in terms of those of the ambient orbifold X. We determine the genus-zero Gromov-Witten potential of the type A surface singularity C^2/Z_n. We also compute some genus-zero invariants of C^3/Z_3, verifying predictions of Aganagic-Bouchard-Klemm. In a self-contained Appendix, we determine the relationship between the quantum cohomology of the A_n surface singularity and that of its crepant resolution, thereby proving the Crepant Resolution Conjectures of Ruan and Bryan-Graber in this case.

Quantum D-modules and generalized mirror transformations

In the previous paper, the author defined equivariant Floer cohomology for a complete intersection in a toric variety and showed that it is isomorphic to the small quantum D-module after a mirror transformation when the first Chern class c_1(M) of the tangent bundle is nef. In this paper, even when c_1(M) is not nef, we show that the equivariant Floer cohomology reconstructs the big quantum D-module under certain conditions on the ambient toric variety. The proof is based on a mirror theorem by Coates and Givental. The reconstruction procedure here gives a generalized mirror transformation first observed by Jinzenji in low degrees.

Convergence of quantum cohomology by quantum Lefschetz

Quantum Lefschetz theorem by Coates and Givental gives a relationship between the genus 0 Gromov-Witten theory of X and the twisted theory by a line bundle L on X. We prove the convergence of the twisted theory under the assumption that the genus 0 theory for original X converges. As a byproduct, we prove the semi-simplicity and the Virasoro conjecture for the Gromov-Witten theories of (not necessarily Fano) projective toric manifolds.

Quantum D-modules and equivariant Floer theory for free loop spaces

The objective of this paper is to clarify the relationships between the quantum D-module and equivariant Floer theory. Equivariant Floer theory was introduced by Givental in his paper ``Homological Geometry''. He conjectured that the quantum D-module of a symplectic manifold is isomorphic to the equivariant Floer cohomology for the universal cover of the free loop space. First, motivated by the work of Guest, we formulate the notion of ``abstract quantum D-module''which generalizes the D-module defined by the small quantum cohomology algebra. Second, we define the equivariant Floer cohomology of toric complete intersections rigorously as a D-module, using Givental's model. This is shown to satisfy the axioms of abstract quantum D-module. By Givental's mirror theorem, it follows that equivariant Floer cohomology defined here is isomorphic to the quantum cohomology D-module.
