Quark and lepton flavor model with leptoquarks in a modular $A_4$ symmetry

We propose a quark-lepton model via leptoquarks and modular $A_4$ symmetry. Since the neutrino mass is induced at one-loop level mediated by down quarks as well as leptoquarks, we have to explain lepton and quark masses and mixings with a single modulus $τ$. Here, we find predictions for lepton and quark sectors with unified modulus $τ$, and show several constraints originating from leptoquarks.

Neutrino and dark matter in a gauged $U(1)_R$ symmetry

We study neutrino and dark matter based on a gauged $U(1)_R$ symmetry in a framework of radiative seesaw scenario. Identifying dark matter as a bosoninc particle, it interacts with quark and lepton sectors through vector-like heavier quark and leptons, and plays an role in generating neutrino mass matrix together with neutral heavier fermions. We explore several constraints for masses and couplings related to dark matter by computing relic density and direct search, taking the neutrino oscillation, lepton flavor violations, and muon anomalous magnetic moment into account. Finally, we briefly mention semileptonic decays and neutral meson mixings at one-loop box diagrams through dark matter.

Inverse seesaw and $(g-2)$ anomalies in $B-L$ extended two Higgs doublet model

We propose a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ extended two Higgs doublet model to explain both neutrino mass and lepton anomalous magnetic moments ($g-2$). Neutrino mass is generated via an inverse seesaw mechanism by introducing singlet fermions. Especially, we update the result of muon $g-2$ in light of the very recent report by E989 experiment at Fermilab, indicating $a_μ^{\rm FNAL}=116592040(54)\times 10^{-11}$. Combining BNL result, we have the following deviation from the standard model prediction $Δa_μ=(2.51\pm 5.9)\times10^{-10}$ at 4.2 $σ$. Thanks to an appropriate assignment for $U(1)_{B-L}\times Z_2$ symmetry and larger $(20\lesssim)\tanβ$ that is favoured by type-X model, we realize natural hierarchies among neutral fermions. The lepton anomalous magnetic moments can be induced at the one loop level by introducing an iso-spin singlet singly-charged boson. This charged scalar plays a significant role in evading chiral suppression of these phenomenologies. We show sizable lepton ($g-2$) can be obtained after satisfying all the flavour constraints, such as $μ\to eγ$ and flavour conserving leptonic $Z$ boson decays.

Radiative Interactions between New Non-Abelian Gauge Sector and the Standard Model

We discuss one loop generation of the term connecting gauge fields from a local hidden $SU(2)_H$ and the standard model $U(1)_Y$ introducing an $SU(2)_H$ doublet fermion with non-zero hypercharge and a scalar field in adjoint representation. Then we obtain a kinetic mixing term between $SU(2)_H$ and $U(1)_Y$ gauge fields after the adjoint scalar field developing vacuum expectation value. We illustrate such a concrete scenario introducing a dark matter model in an ultraviolet (UV) completion with local $SU(2)_H$ symmetry where the scalar doublet is our dark matter candidate and its stability is guaranteed by remnant $Z_2$ symmetry from $SU(2)_H$. Relic density of dark matter is calculated focusing on the case in which dark matter annihilate into known particles via $SU(2)_H$ gauge interactions with radiatively induced kinetic mixing.

A two loop induced neutrino mass model with modular $A_4$ symmetry

We propose a model with radiatively induced neutrino mass at two-loop level, applying modular $A_4$ symmetry. The neutrino mass matrix is formulated where the structure of associated couplings are restricted by the symmetry. Then we show several predictions in the lepton sector, satisfying lepton flavor violations as well as neutrino oscillation data. We also discuss muon anomalous magnetic moment and briefly comment on dark matter candidate.

Radiative dark matter and neutrino masses from an alternative $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge symmetry

We propose a model where the masses of the active neutrinos and a dark matter candidate are generated radiatively through the $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge symmetry breaking. It is realized by a non-universal $U(1)_{B-L}$ charge assignment on the right handed neutrinos and one of them becomes DM. The dark matter mass becomes generally small compared with the typical mass of the Weak Interacting Massive Particles and we have milder constraints on the dark matter. We consider the case where the dark matter is produced through the freeze-in mechanism and show that the observed dark matter relic density can be realized consistently with the current experimental constraints on the neutrino masses and the lepton flavor structure.

A linear seesaw model with $A_4$-modular flavor and local $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetries

We discuss a linear seesaw model with local $U(1)_{B-L}$ and modular $A_4$ symmetries. The neutrino mass matrix for linear seesaw mechanism is realized by $U(1)_{B-L}$ charge assignment and the nature of modular $A_4$ symmetry. We formulate neutrino mass and carry our numerical analysis showing some predictions for observables in neutrino sector. Remarkably, the case of inverted neutrino mass ordering (IO) is realized by a specific region around $τ=ω=e^{2πi/3}$, which is favored by a string theory. Thus, our prediction would be very strong in case of IO.

A radiatively induced neutrino mass model with hidden local $U(1)$ and LFV processes $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, $μ\to e Z'$ and $μe \to e e$

We investigate a model based on hidden $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry in which neutrino mass is induced at one-loop level by effects of interactions among particles in hidden sector and the Standard Model leptons. Neutrino mass generation is also associated with $U(1)_X$ breaking scale which is taken to be low to suppress neutrino mass. Then we formulate neutrino mass matrix, lepton flavor violating processes and muon $g-2$ which are induced via interactions among Standard Model leptons and particles in $U(1)_X$ hidden sector that can be sizable in our scenario. Carrying our numerical analysis, we show expected ratios for these processes when generated neutrino mass matrix can fit the neutrino data.

Spontaneous CP violation by modulus $τ$ in $A_4$ model of lepton flavors

We discuss the modular $A_4$ invariant model of leptons combining with the generalized CP symmetry. In our model, both CP and modular symmetries are broken spontaneously by the vacuum expectation value of the modulus $τ$. The source of the CP violation is a non-trivial value of ${\rm Re} [τ]$ while other parameters of the model are real. The allowed region of $τ$ is in very narrow one close to the fixed point $τ=i$ for both normal hierarchy (NH) and inverted ones (IH) of neutrino masses. The CP violating Dirac phase $δ_{CP}$ is predicted clearly in $[98^\circ,\,110^\circ]$ and $[250^\circ,\,262^\circ]$ for NH at $3\,σ$ confidence level. On the other hand, $δ_{CP}$ is in $[95^\circ,100^\circ]$ and $[260^\circ,\,265^\circ]$ for IH at $5\,σ$ confidence level. The predicted $\sum m_i$ is in $[82,\,102]$ meV for NH and $\sum m_i=[134,\,180]$ meV for IH. The effective mass $\langle m_{ee}\rangle$ for the $0νββ$ decay is predicted in $[12.5,\,20.5]$ meV and $[54,\,67]$ meV for NH and IH, respectively.

Vector dark matter from a gauged $SU(2)$ symmetry

We propose a scenario of dark sector described by a hidden $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry which is broken by a vacuum expectation value(VEV) of a scalar multiplet. We discuss a general mass relation among $SU(2)$ gauge bosons after spontaneous symmetry breaking which is determined by weight of gauge group representation associated with a scalar multiplet developing VEV. Then a model with quintet and triplet scalar fields is discussed in which hidden gauge boson can be dark matter(DM) stabilized by remnant discrete $Z_2$ symmetry and resonant dark matter annihilation is realized by mass relation between DM and mediator. We estimate relic density and spin independent DM-nucleon scattering cross section searching for allowed parameter region.

Modular invariant flavor model of $\rm A_4$ and hierarchical structures at nearby fixed points

In the modular invariant flavor model of $\rm A_4$, we study the hierarchical structure of lepton/quark flavors at nearby fixed points of $τ=i$ and $τ=ω$ of the modulus, which are in the fundamental domain of $\rm PSL(2,\mathbb{Z})$. These fixed points correspond to the residual symmetries $\mathbb{Z}_2^{S}=\{I, S \}$ and $\mathbb{Z}_3^{S}=\{ I, ST, (ST)^2 \}$ of $\rm A_4$, where $S$ and $T$ are generators of the $A_4$ group. The infinite $τ= i \infty$ also preserves the residual symmetry of the subgroup $\mathbb{Z}^T_3=\{ I,T,T^2 \}$ of $\rm A_4$. We study typical two-type mass matrices for charged leptons and quarks in terms of modular forms of weights $2$, $4$ and $6$ while the neutrino mass matrix with the modular forms of weight $4$ through the Weinberg operator. Linear modular forms are obtained approximately by performing Taylor expansion of modular forms around fixed points. By using them, the flavor structure of the lepton and quark mass matrices are examined at nearby fixed points. The hierarchical structure of these mass matrices is clearly shown in the diagonal base of $S$, $T$ and $ST$. The observed PMNS and CKM mixing matrices can be reproduced at nearby fixed points in some cases of mass matrices. By scanning model parameters numerically at nearby fixed points, our discussion are confirmed for both the normal hierarchy and inverted one of neutrino masses. Predictions are given for the sum of neutrino masses and the CP violating Dirac phase of leptons at each nearby fixed point.

Lepton Anomalous Magnetic Moments in an $S_4$ Flavor-Symmetric Extra U(1) Model

We study supersymmetric extra U(1) model with $S_4$ flavor symmetry. The flavor symmetry not only stabilizes proton but also suppresses the flavor changing processes without raising the supersymmetry breaking scale. After the flavor symmetry is broken, the Yukawa hierarchy is realized by the Froggatt-Nielsen mechanism. The relevant Peccei-Quinn scale for axion dark matter: $\frac{f_a}{M_P}\sim 10^{-5}$ accounts for small up quark mass. The muon mass scale: $\frac{m_μ}{M_W}\sim 10^{-3}$ is related to the $O(10^{-6})$ mass degeneracy of right-handed neutrinos, from which we can identify the relevant scale of right-handed neutrino mass for baryon asymmetry of the Universe as TeV. Due to the existence of the extra higgsinos, the discrepancies of the anomalous magnetic moments of the muon and the electron between the standard model predictions and the observations are explained by the chargino-sneutrino contributions simultaneously.

Dirac dark matter in a radiative neutrino model

We propose a simple radiative neutrino mass scenario with a Dirac dark matter candidate, which is minimally realized by a Z3 symmetry. We introduce two Dirac neutrinos and two inert doublets. We demonstrate that the model has a large allowed region that satisfies the constraints from neutrino oscillation data, lepton flavor violations, direct/indirect detection of dark matter and dark matter relic density. We also propose an efficient parameterization of the neutrino Yukawa couplings, which reproduces a desired active neutrino mass matrix.

We propose a radiative seesaw model based on a modular $A_4$ symmetry, which has good predictability in the lepton sector. We execute a numerical analysis to search for parameters that satisfy the experimental constraints such as those from neutrino oscillation data and lepton flavor violations. Then, we present several predictions in our model that originate from the modular symmetry at a fixed point as well as fundamental region of $τ$.

Lepton sector in modular $A_4$ and gauged $U(1)_R$ symmetry

We propose a lepton model under modular $A_4$ and gauged $U(1)_R$ symmetries, in which the neutrino masses are induced at one-loop level. Thanks to the modular $A_4$ symmetry, we have several predictions on the lepton sector, especially, on fixed points of $τ=i,ω\equiv e^{2πi/3},i\times \infty$ each of which has remnant symmetry; $Z_2$ for $τ=i$ and $Z_3$ for $τ=ω, i\infty$. These points are favored by a string theory and phenomenologically interesting.

A two-loop induced neutrino mass model, dark matter, and LFV processes $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, and $μe \to e e$ in a hidden local $U(1)$ symmetry

We discuss a model based on a hidden $U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry in which neutrino mass is induced at two-loop level by effects of interactions among particles in hidden sector and the Standard Model leptons. Since neutrino mass is suppressed by two-loop, its associate Yukawa couplings can be sizable and it would affect lepton flavor phenomenology. We analyze neutrino mass matrix, lepton flavor violating processes, electron/muon $g-2$ and dark matter annihilation cross section which are induced via interactions among Standard Model leptons and particles in $U(1)_X$ hidden sector, and their interactions can be sizable in our scenario. Performing numerical analysis, we show expected ratios for these processes using allowed parameters which can fit the neutrino data and satisfy flavor constraints.

Modular $A_4$ symmetric inverse seesaw model with $SU(2)_L$ multiplet fields

We propose an inverse seesaw model with large $SU(2)_L$ multiplets applying modular $A_4$ symmetry where $SU(2)_L$ quartet and septet fermions are introduced as triplets under the symmetry. The neutral components of the quartet contribute to mass matrix for inverse seesaw mechanism and interactions involving the septet induce Majorana mass terms of these extra fermions. Although there are several free parameters in the mass matrix we can obtain some predictions for observables in neutrino sector such as CP phases, sum of neutrino mass and effective mass for neutrinoless double beta decay, especially around fixed points of modulus motivated by string theories.

A radiative seesaw model linking to XENON1T anomaly

We propose an attractive model that excess of electron recoil events around 1-5 keV reported by the XENON1T collaboration nicely links to the tiny neutrino masses based on a radiative seesaw scenario. Our dark matter(DM) is an isospin singlet inert boson that plays an role in generating non-vanishing neutrino mass at one-loop level, and this DM inelastically interacts with a pair of electrons at one-loop level that is required to explain the XENON1T anomaly. It is also demanded that the mass difference between an excited DM and DM has to be of the order keV. Interestingly, the small mass difference $\sim$keV is proportional to the neutrino masses. It suggests that we have double suppressions through the tiny mass difference and the one-loop effect. Then, we show some benchmark points to explain the XENON1T anomaly, satisfying all the constraints such as the event ratio of electrons of XENON1T, a long lived particle be longer than the age of Universe, and relic density in addition to the neutrino oscillation data and lepton flavor violations(LFVs).
