Analysis of Little Higgs Model with T-parity at ILC

The Littlest Higgs Model with T-parity is one of the attractive candidates of physics beyond the Standard Model. One of the important predictions of the model is the existence of new heavy gauge bosons, where they acquire mass terms through the breaking of global symmetry necessarily imposed on the model. The determination of the masses are, hence, quite important to test the model. In this paper, the measurement accuracy of the heavy gauge bosons at the international linear collider (ILC) is reported.

Precision Measurements of the model parameters in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity

We investigate a possibility of precision measurements for parameters of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The model predicts new gauge bosons which masses strongly depend on the vacuum expectation value that breaks a global symmetry of the model. Through Monte Carlo simulations of production processes of new gauge bosons, we show that these masses can be determined very accurately at the ILC for a representative parameter point of the model. From the simulation result, we also discuss the determination of other model parameters at the ILC.

Precision Measurements of Little Higgs Parameters at the International Linear Collider

We investigate a possibility of precision measurements for parameters of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the International Linear Collider (ILC). The model predicts new gauge bosons (AH, ZH, and WH), among which the heavy photon (AH) is a candidate for dark matter. The masses of these new gauge bosons strongly depend on the vacuum expectation value that breaks a global symmetry of the model. Through Monte Carlo simulations of the processes: e+ e- ->AH ZH and e+ e- -> WH+ WH-, we show how precisely the masses can be determined at the ILC for a representative parameter point of the model. We also discuss the determination of the Little Higgs parameters and its impact on the future measurement of the thermal abundance of the dark matter relics in our universe.

Beam Size Measurement with Pair Monitor and BeamCal

At the International Linear Collider (ILC), measurement of the beam profile at the interaction point (IP) is a key issue to achieve high luminosity. We studied the beam size measurement by combination of Pair Monitor and BeamCal. We obtained measurement accuracies of 2.7%, and 6.6% for the horizontal, and vertical beam sizes, respectively, for 50 bunch crossings.

Study of Beam Profile Measurement at Interaction Point in International Linear Collider

At the international linear collider, measurement of the beam profile at the interaction point is a key issue to achieve high luminosity. We report a simulation study on a new beam profile monitor, called the pair monitor, which uses the hit distribution of the electron-positron pairs generated at the interaction point. We obtained measurement accuracies of 5.1%, 10.0%, and 4.0% for the horizontal, vertical, and longitudinal beam size, respectively, for 50 bunch crossings.

R&D status of FPCCD VTX

As a candidate of the vertex detector for experiments at ILC, fully depleted fine pixel CCDs (FPCCDs) are under development. We describe the basic concept of the FPCCD and report on preliminary results of the performance study of the first prototype FPCCD sensors.

How accurately is the property of the Little Higgs Dark Matter determined at the ILC?

Little Higgs scenario provides us a new solution for the hierarchy problem of the Standard Model. The Littlest Higgs model with T-parity, which is one of models in the scenario, solves the dark matter problem in our universe. In this talk, we discuss how accurately the property of the dark matter is determined at linear collides. We also mention how precisely does the thermal abundance of the dark matter determined at the 500 GeV and 1 TeV collides, and compare the results with those at the LHC.

Simulation study of ZHAH mode in Littlest Higgs Model with T-Parity

We investigate a possibility to measure parameters of the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity at the ILC with sqrt(s) = 500 GeV. The model predicts new gauge bosons (AH, ZH, and WH), among which the heavy photon (AH) is a candidate for dark matter. Through Monte Carlo simulations of the process of e+ e- -> AH ZH, we show that the masses can be determined with accuracies of 16.2% for m_AH and 4.3% for m_ZH. In additionally, the vacuum expectation value can be determined with accuracies of 4.3%.

Development of Readout ASIC for FPCCD Vertex Detector

We develop the vertex detector for the international linear collider (ILC) using the FPCCD (Fine Pixel CCD), whose pixel size is 5 x 5 um2. Together with the FPCCD sensor, a prototype of the readout ASIC was developed in 2008. The readout ASIC was confirmed to work correctly at slow readout speed (1.5 Mpix/sec). In this letter, we describe the status of the performance study for the readout ASIC.

Physics at International Linear Collider (ILC)

International Linear Collider (ILC) is an electron-positron collider with the initial center-of-mass energy of 500 GeV which is upgradable to about 1 TeV later on. Its goal is to study the physics at TeV scale with unprecedented high sensitivities. The main topics include precision measurements of the Higgs particle properties, studies of supersymmtric particles and the underlying theoretical structure if supersymmetry turns out to be realized in nature, probing alternative possibilities for the origin of mass, and the cosmological connections thereof. In many channels, Higgs and leptonic sector in particular, ILC is substantially more sensitive than LHC, and is complementary to LHC overall. In this short article, we will have a quick look at the capabilities of ILC.

Estimation of synchrotron-radiation background based on a real beam orbit

Some high-energy experiments have suffered from synchrotron-radiation background. As a measure, we have developed a new calculation method of synchrotron radiation based on a real beam orbit, aiming at quantitative estimations and the construction of a possible alarm system for the background. An explanation and a demonstration of our method are given.

CP violation in B decay

We review the physics of CP violation in B decays. After introducing the CKM matrix and how it causes CP violation, we cover three types of CP violation that can occur in B decays: CP violation in mixing, CP violation by mixing-decay interference, and CP violation in decay.

Analysis of Long-Lived Slepton NLSP in GMSB model at Linear Collider

We performed an analysis on the detection of a long-lived slepton at a linear collider with $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV. In GMSB models a long-lived NLSP is predicted for large value of the supersymmetry breaking scale $\sqrt{F}$. Furthermore in a large portion of the parameter space this particle is a stau. Such heavy charged particles will leave a track in the tracking volume and hit the muonic detector. In order to disentangle this signal from the muon background, we explore kinematics and particle identification tools: time of flight device, dE/dX and Cerenkov devices. We show that a linear collider will be able to detect long-lived staus with masses up to the kinematical limit of the machine. We also present our estimation of the sensitivity to the stau lifetime.

Inclusive charmless semileptonic decay of Λ_b and Br(b ---> X_u l ν_l)

We study the inclusive charmless semileptonic decay of $Λ_b$, $Λ_b \to X_u l ν_l$, in the framework of heavy quark expansion and find that the rate is substantially enhanced by spectator effect. We obtain $Br(b \to X_u l ν_l)$ to be $1.13 \times 10^{-3}$ for $|V_{ub}| = 3.3 \times 10^{-3}$. We discuss our result in light of the recent LEP measurements of the charmless semileptonic branching ratio where such enhancement was not taken into account in extracting $|V_{ub}|$.
