Vision-Based Learning for Cyberattack Detection in Blockchain Smart Contracts and Transactions

Blockchain technology has experienced rapid growth and has been widely adopted across various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and energy. However, blockchain platforms remain vulnerable to a broad range of cyberattacks, particularly those aimed at exploiting transactions and smart contracts (SCs) to steal digital assets or compromise system integrity. To address this issue, we propose a novel and effective framework for detecting cyberattacks within blockchain systems. Our framework begins with a preprocessing tool that uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to transform key features of blockchain transactions into image representations. These images are then analyzed through vision-based analysis using Vision Transformers (ViT), a recent advancement in computer vision known for its superior ability to capture complex patterns and semantic relationships. By integrating NLP-based preprocessing with vision-based learning, our framework can detect a wide variety of attack types. Experimental evaluations on benchmark datasets demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods in terms of both accuracy (achieving 99.5%) and robustness in cyberattack detection for blockchain transactions and SCs.

Joint Access Point Activation and Power Allocation for Cell-Free Massive MIMO Aided ISAC Systems

Cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)-aided integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems are investigated where distributed access points jointly serve users and sensing targets. We demonstrate that only a subset of access points (APs) has to be activated for both tasks, while deactivating redundant APs is essential for power savings. This motivates joint active AP selection and power control for optimizing energy efficiency. The resultant problem is a mixed-integer nonlinear program (MINLP). To address this, we propose a model-based Branch-and-Bound approach as a strong baseline to guide a semi-supervised heterogeneous graph neural network (HetGNN) for selecting the best active APs and the power allocation. Comprehensive numerical results demonstrate that the proposed HetGNN reduces power consumption by 20-25\% and runs nearly 10,000 times faster than model-based benchmarks.

Semi-Supervised Learning for Anomaly Detection in Blockchain-based Supply Chains

Blockchain-based supply chain (BSC) systems have tremendously been developed recently and can play an important role in our society in the future. In this study, we develop an anomaly detection model for BSC systems. Our proposed model can detect cyber-attacks at various levels, including the network layer, consensus layer, and beyond, by analyzing only the traffic data at the network layer. To do this, we first build a BSC system at our laboratory to perform experiments and collect datasets. We then propose a novel semi-supervised DAE-MLP (Deep AutoEncoder-Multilayer Perceptron) that combines the advantages of supervised and unsupervised learning to detect anomalies in BSC systems. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our model for anomaly detection within BSCs, achieving a detection accuracy of 96.5%. Moreover, DAE-MLP can effectively detect new attacks by improving the F1-score up to 33.1% after updating the MLP component.
