d-wave Holographic Superconductor Vortex Lattice and Non-Abelian Holographic Superconductor Droplet

A d-wave holographic superconductor is studied under a constant magnetic field by perturbation method, we obtain both droplet and triangular vortex lattice solution. The results are the same as the s-wave holographic superconductor. The non-Abelian holographic superconductor with $p+ip$-wave background is also studied under magnetic field, unlike the d-wave and s-wave models, we find that the non-Abelian model has only droplet solution.

Effect of gauge boson mass on the phase structure of QED$_{3}$

Dynamical chiral symmetry breaking (DCSB) in QED$_{3}$ with finite gauge boson mass is studied in the framework of the rainbow approximation of Dyson-Schwinger equations. By adopting a simple gauge boson propagator ansatz at finite temperature, we first numerically solve the Dyson-Schwinger equation for the fermion self-energy to determine the chiral phase diagram of QED$_3$ with finite gauge boson mass at finite chemical potential and finite temperature, then we study the effect of the finite gauge mass on the phase diagram of QED$_3$. It is found that the gauge boson mass $m_{a}$ suppresses the occurrence of DCSB. The area of the region in the chiral phase diagram corresponding to DCSB phase decreases as the gauge boson mass $m_{a}$ increases. In particular, chiral symmetry gets restored when $m_{a}$ is above a certain critical value. In this paper, we use DCSB to describe the antiferromagnetic order and use the gauge boson mass to describe the superconducting order. Our results give qualitatively a physical picture on the competition and coexistence between antiferromagnetic order and superconducting orders in high temperature cuprate superconductors.

Bag model and quark star

In this paper, incorporating the property of the vacuum negative pressure, namely, the bag constant, we presented a new model of the equation of state (EOS) of quark matter at finite chemical potential and zero temperature. By comparing our EOS with Fraga {\it et~al.}'s EOS and SQM1 model, one find that our EOS is softer than Fraga {\it et~al.}'s EOS and SQM1 model. The reason for this difference is analyzed. With these results we investigate the structure of quark star. A comparison between our model of quark star and other models is made. The obtained mass of quark star is $ 1.3 \sim 1.66 M_\odot$ and the radius is $9.5 \sim 14 Km$. One can see that our star's compactness is smaller than that of other two models.

Superconducting Coherence Length and Magnetic Penetration Depth of a p-wave Holographic Superconductor

A classical SU(2) Einstein-Yang-Mills theory in 3+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime is believed to be dual to a p-wave superconductor in 2+1 dimensional flat spacetime. In order to calculate the superconductiong coherence length $ξ$ of the holographic superconductor near the superconducting phase transition point, we study the perturbation of the gravity theory analytically. The superconductiong coherence length $ξ$ is found to be proportional to $(1-T/T_c)^{-1/2}$ near the critical temperature $T_c$. We also obtain the magnetic penetration depth $λ\propto(T_c-T)^{1/2}$ by adding a small external homogeneous magnetic field. The results agree with the Ginzburg-Landau theory.

Vacuum pseudoscalar susceptibility

We derive a novel model-independent result for the pion susceptibility in QCD via the isovector-pseudoscalar vacuum polarisation. In the neighbourhood of the chiral-limit, the pion susceptibility can be expressed as a sum of two independent terms. The first expresses the pion-pole contribution. The second is identical to the vacuum chiral susceptibility, which describes the response of QCD's ground-state to a fluctuation in the current-quark mass. In this result one finds a straightforward explanation of a mismatch between extant estimates of the pion susceptibility.

Crossover from a continuum study of chiral susceptibility

We derive a model-independent integral formula for chiral susceptibility and attempt to present a continuum model study of it within the framework of Dyson-Schwinger Equations. An appropriate regularization is implemented to remove the temperature-independent quadratic divergence inherent in this quantity. While it demonstrates a second-order phase transition characteristic in the chiral limit, the result obtained supports a crossover at physical current quark masses, which is in good agreement with recent lattice studies.

Quark number susceptibility around the critical end point

The quark number susceptibility is expressed as an integral in terms of dressed quark propagator and dressed vector vertex. It is then investigated with the latter two- and three-point functions confronted with a Dyson-Schwinger equation model which accommodates both finite temperature and baryon chemical potential. The critical end point in the phase diagram is identified and the behavior of the quark number susceptibility around the critical end point is highlighted. The characteristic features found agree well with recent lattice QCD simulation results.

A Note on Transverse Axial Vector and Vector Anomalies in U(1) Gauge Theories

The transverse axial vector and vector anomalies in four-dimensional U(1) gauge theories studied in [10] is reexamined by means of perturbative methods. The absence of transverse anomalies for both axial vector and vector current is verified. We also show that the Pauli-Villars regularization and dimensional regularization give the same result on the transverse anomaly of both axial vector and vector current.

Decays of the Meson $B_c$ to a $P$-Wave Charmonium State $χ_c$ or $h_c$

The semileptonic decays, $B_{c}{\longrightarrow}{χ_c}(h_c)+{\ell}+{ν}_{\ell}$, and the two-body nonleptonic decays, $B_{c}{\longrightarrow}{χ_c}(h_c)+h$, (here $χ_c$ and $h_c$ denote $(c\bar c[^3P_J])$ and $(c\bar c[^1P_1])$ respectively, and $h$ indicates a meson) were computed. All of the form factors appearing in the relevant weak-current matrix elements with $B_c$ as its initial state and a $P$-wave charmonium state as its final state for the decays were precisely formulated in terms of two independent overlapping-integrations of the wave-functions of $B_c$ and the $P$-wave charmonium and with proper kinematics factors being `accompanied'. We found that the decays are quite sizable, so they may be accessible in Run-II at Tevatron and in the foreseen future at LHC, particularly, when BTeV and LHCB, the special detectors for B-physics, are borne in mind. In addition, we also pointed out that the decays $B_c\to h_c+...$ may potentially be used as a fresh window to look for the $h_c$ charmonium state, and the cascade decays, $B_c\to χ_c[^3P_{1,2}]+l+ν_l$ ($B_c\to χ_c[^3P_{1,2}]+h$) with one of the radiative decays $χ_c[^3P_{1,2}] \to J/ψ+γ$ being followed accordingly, may affect the observations of $B_c$ meson through the decays $B_{c}\to {J/ψ}+{l}+ν_{l}$ ($B_c\to J/ψ+h$) substantially.

Semileptonic Decays of $B_c$ Meson to a P-Wave Charmonium State $χ_c$ or $h_c$

The semileptonic decays of meson $B_c$ to a P-wave charmonium state $χ_c(^3P_J)$ or $h_c(^1P_1)$ are computed. The results show that the decays are sizable so they are accessible in Tevatron and in LHC, especially, with the detectors LHCB and BTeV in the foreseeable future, and of them, the one to the $^1P_1$ charmonium state potentially offers us a novel window to see the unconfirmed $h_c$ particle. In addition, it is pointed out that since the two charmonium radiative decays $χ_c(^3P_{1,2}) \to J/ψ+γ$ have sizable branching ratios, the cascade decays of the concerned decays and the charmonium radiative decays may affect the result of the observing the $B_c$ meson through the semileptonic decays $B_{c}\to {J/ψ}+{l}+ν_{l}$ substantially.

The Pure Leptonic Decays of B_c Meson and Their Radiative Corrections

The radiative corrections to the pure leptonic decay $B_c \to \ellν_{\ell}$ up-to one-loop order is presented. How to cancel the infrared divergences appearing in the loop calculations, and the radiative decay $B_c \to \ellν_{\ell}γ$ is shown precisely. It is emphasized that the radiative decay may be separated properly and may compare with measurements directly as long as the theoretical `softness' of the photon corresponds to the experimental resolutions. Furthermore with a kind of non-relativistic constituent quark model, a kind of typical long distance contributions to the radiative decays is estimated, and it is shown that the contributions are negligible in comparison with the accuracy of one-loop corrections and the expected experimental measurements.
