StableVC: Style Controllable Zero-Shot Voice Conversion with Conditional Flow Matching

Zero-shot voice conversion (VC) aims to transfer the timbre from the source speaker to an arbitrary unseen speaker while preserving the original linguistic content. Despite recent advancements in zero-shot VC using language model-based or diffusion-based approaches, several challenges remain: 1) current approaches primarily focus on adapting timbre from unseen speakers and are unable to transfer style and timbre to different unseen speakers independently; 2) these approaches often suffer from slower inference speeds due to the autoregressive modeling methods or the need for numerous sampling steps; 3) the quality and similarity of the converted samples are still not fully satisfactory. To address these challenges, we propose a style controllable zero-shot VC approach named StableVC, which aims to transfer timbre and style from source speech to different unseen target speakers. Specifically, we decompose speech into linguistic content, timbre, and style, and then employ a conditional flow matching module to reconstruct the high-quality mel-spectrogram based on these decomposed features. To effectively capture timbre and style in a zero-shot manner, we introduce a novel dual attention mechanism with an adaptive gate, rather than using conventional feature concatenation. With this non-autoregressive design, StableVC can efficiently capture the intricate timbre and style from different unseen speakers and generate high-quality speech significantly faster than real-time. Experiments demonstrate that our proposed StableVC outperforms state-of-the-art baseline systems in zero-shot VC and achieves flexible control over timbre and style from different unseen speakers. Moreover, StableVC offers approximately 25x and 1.65x faster sampling compared to autoregressive and diffusion-based baselines.

PSCodec: A Series of High-Fidelity Low-bitrate Neural Speech Codecs Leveraging Prompt Encoders

Neural speech codecs have recently emerged as a focal point in the fields of speech compression and generation. Despite this progress, achieving high-quality speech reconstruction under low-bitrate scenarios remains a significant challenge. In this paper, we propose PSCodec, a series of neural speech codecs based on prompt encoders, comprising PSCodec-Base, PSCodec-DRL-ICT, and PSCodec-CasAN, which are capable of delivering high-performance speech reconstruction with low bandwidths. Specifically, we first introduce PSCodec-Base, which leverages a pretrained speaker verification model-based prompt encoder (VPP-Enc) and a learnable Mel-spectrogram-based prompt encoder (MelP-Enc) to effectively disentangle and integrate voiceprint and Mel-related features in utterances. To further enhance feature utilization efficiency, we propose PSCodec-DRL-ICT, incorporating a structural similarity (SSIM) based disentangled representation loss (DRL) and an incremental continuous training (ICT) strategy. While PSCodec-DRL-ICT demonstrates impressive performance, its reliance on extensive hyperparameter tuning and multi-stage training makes it somewhat labor-intensive. To circumvent these limitations, we propose PSCodec-CasAN, utilizing an advanced cascaded attention network (CasAN) to enhance representational capacity of the entire system. Extensive experiments show that our proposed PSCodec-Base, PSCodec-DRL-ICT, and PSCodec-CasAN all significantly outperform several state-of-the-art neural codecs, exhibiting substantial improvements in both speech reconstruction quality and speaker similarity under low-bitrate conditions.

ZOPP: A Framework of Zero-shot Offboard Panoptic Perception for Autonomous Driving

Offboard perception aims to automatically generate high-quality 3D labels for autonomous driving (AD) scenes. Existing offboard methods focus on 3D object detection with closed-set taxonomy and fail to match human-level recognition capability on the rapidly evolving perception tasks. Due to heavy reliance on human labels and the prevalence of data imbalance and sparsity, a unified framework for offboard auto-labeling various elements in AD scenes that meets the distinct needs of perception tasks is not being fully explored. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-modal Zero-shot Offboard Panoptic Perception (ZOPP) framework for autonomous driving scenes. ZOPP integrates the powerful zero-shot recognition capabilities of vision foundation models and 3D representations derived from point clouds. To the best of our knowledge, ZOPP represents a pioneering effort in the domain of multi-modal panoptic perception and auto labeling for autonomous driving scenes. We conduct comprehensive empirical studies and evaluations on Waymo open dataset to validate the proposed ZOPP on various perception tasks. To further explore the usability and extensibility of our proposed ZOPP, we also conduct experiments in downstream applications. The results further demonstrate the great potential of our ZOPP for real-world scenarios.

Takin-ADA: Emotion Controllable Audio-Driven Animation with Canonical and Landmark Loss Optimization

Existing audio-driven facial animation methods face critical challenges, including expression leakage, ineffective subtle expression transfer, and imprecise audio-driven synchronization. We discovered that these issues stem from limitations in motion representation and the lack of fine-grained control over facial expressions. To address these problems, we present Takin-ADA, a novel two-stage approach for real-time audio-driven portrait animation. In the first stage, we introduce a specialized loss function that enhances subtle expression transfer while reducing unwanted expression leakage. The second stage utilizes an advanced audio processing technique to improve lip-sync accuracy. Our method not only generates precise lip movements but also allows flexible control over facial expressions and head motions. Takin-ADA achieves high-resolution (512x512) facial animations at up to 42 FPS on an RTX 4090 GPU, outperforming existing commercial solutions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model significantly surpasses previous methods in video quality, facial dynamics realism, and natural head movements, setting a new benchmark in the field of audio-driven facial animation.

Takin: A Cohort of Superior Quality Zero-shot Speech Generation Models

With the advent of the big data and large language model era, zero-shot personalized rapid customization has emerged as a significant trend. In this report, we introduce Takin AudioLLM, a series of techniques and models, mainly including Takin TTS, Takin VC, and Takin Morphing, specifically designed for audiobook production. These models are capable of zero-shot speech production, generating high-quality speech that is nearly indistinguishable from real human speech and facilitating individuals to customize the speech content according to their own needs. Specifically, we first introduce Takin TTS, a neural codec language model that builds upon an enhanced neural speech codec and a multi-task training framework, capable of generating high-fidelity natural speech in a zero-shot way. For Takin VC, we advocate an effective content and timbre joint modeling approach to improve the speaker similarity, while advocating for a conditional flow matching based decoder to further enhance its naturalness and expressiveness. Last, we propose the Takin Morphing system with highly decoupled and advanced timbre and prosody modeling approaches, which enables individuals to customize speech production with their preferred timbre and prosody in a precise and controllable manner. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness and robustness of our Takin AudioLLM series models. For detailed demos, please refer to https://everest-ai.github.io/takinaudiollm/.

DocGenome: An Open Large-scale Scientific Document Benchmark for Training and Testing Multi-modal Large Language Models

Scientific documents record research findings and valuable human knowledge, comprising a vast corpus of high-quality data. Leveraging multi-modality data extracted from these documents and assessing large models' abilities to handle scientific document-oriented tasks is therefore meaningful. Despite promising advancements, large models still perform poorly on multi-page scientific document extraction and understanding tasks, and their capacity to process within-document data formats such as charts and equations remains under-explored. To address these issues, we present DocGenome, a structured document benchmark constructed by annotating 500K scientific documents from 153 disciplines in the arXiv open-access community, using our custom auto-labeling pipeline. DocGenome features four key characteristics: 1) Completeness: It is the first dataset to structure data from all modalities including 13 layout attributes along with their LaTeX source codes. 2) Logicality: It provides 6 logical relationships between different entities within each scientific document. 3) Diversity: It covers various document-oriented tasks, including document classification, visual grounding, document layout detection, document transformation, open-ended single-page QA and multi-page QA. 4) Correctness: It undergoes rigorous quality control checks conducted by a specialized team. We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate the advantages of DocGenome and objectively evaluate the performance of large models on our benchmark.

Vec-Tok-VC+: Residual-enhanced Robust Zero-shot Voice Conversion with Progressive Constraints in a Dual-mode Training Strategy

Zero-shot voice conversion (VC) aims to transform source speech into arbitrary unseen target voice while keeping the linguistic content unchanged. Recent VC methods have made significant progress, but semantic losses in the decoupling process as well as training-inference mismatch still hinder conversion performance. In this paper, we propose Vec-Tok-VC+, a novel prompt-based zero-shot VC model improved from Vec-Tok Codec, achieving voice conversion given only a 3s target speaker prompt. We design a residual-enhanced K-Means decoupler to enhance the semantic content extraction with a two-layer clustering process. Besides, we employ teacher-guided refinement to simulate the conversion process to eliminate the training-inference mismatch, forming a dual-mode training strategy. Furthermore, we design a multi-codebook progressive loss function to constrain the layer-wise output of the model from coarse to fine to improve speaker similarity and content accuracy. Objective and subjective evaluations demonstrate that Vec-Tok-VC+ outperforms the strong baselines in naturalness, intelligibility, and speaker similarity.

OASim: an Open and Adaptive Simulator based on Neural Rendering for Autonomous Driving

With deep learning and computer vision technology development, autonomous driving provides new solutions to improve traffic safety and efficiency. The importance of building high-quality datasets is self-evident, especially with the rise of end-to-end autonomous driving algorithms in recent years. Data plays a core role in the algorithm closed-loop system. However, collecting real-world data is expensive, time-consuming, and unsafe. With the development of implicit rendering technology and in-depth research on using generative models to produce data at scale, we propose OASim, an open and adaptive simulator and autonomous driving data generator based on implicit neural rendering. It has the following characteristics: (1) High-quality scene reconstruction through neural implicit surface reconstruction technology. (2) Trajectory editing of the ego vehicle and participating vehicles. (3) Rich vehicle model library that can be freely selected and inserted into the scene. (4) Rich sensors model library where you can select specified sensors to generate data. (5) A highly customizable data generation system can generate data according to user needs. We demonstrate the high quality and fidelity of the generated data through perception performance evaluation on the Carla simulator and real-world data acquisition. PromptVC: Flexible Stylistic Voice Conversion in Latent Space Driven by Natural Language Prompts

Style voice conversion aims to transform the style of source speech to a desired style according to real-world application demands. However, the current style voice conversion approach relies on pre-defined labels or reference speech to control the conversion process, which leads to limitations in style diversity or falls short in terms of the intuitive and interpretability of style representation. In this study, we propose PromptVC, a novel style voice conversion approach that employs a latent diffusion model to generate a style vector driven by natural language prompts. Specifically, the style vector is extracted by a style encoder during training, and then the latent diffusion model is trained independently to sample the style vector from noise, with this process being conditioned on natural language prompts. To improve style expressiveness, we leverage HuBERT to extract discrete tokens and replace them with the K-Means center embedding to serve as the linguistic content, which minimizes residual style information. Additionally, we deduplicate the same discrete token and employ a differentiable duration predictor to re-predict the duration of each token, which can adapt the duration of the same linguistic content to different styles. The subjective and objective evaluation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed system.

Vec-Tok Speech: speech vectorization and tokenization for neural speech generation

Language models (LMs) have recently flourished in natural language processing and computer vision, generating high-fidelity texts or images in various tasks. In contrast, the current speech generative models are still struggling regarding speech quality and task generalization. This paper presents Vec-Tok Speech, an extensible framework that resembles multiple speech generation tasks, generating expressive and high-fidelity speech. Specifically, we propose a novel speech codec based on speech vectors and semantic tokens. Speech vectors contain acoustic details contributing to high-fidelity speech reconstruction, while semantic tokens focus on the linguistic content of speech, facilitating language modeling. Based on the proposed speech codec, Vec-Tok Speech leverages an LM to undertake the core of speech generation. Moreover, Byte-Pair Encoding (BPE) is introduced to reduce the token length and bit rate for lower exposure bias and longer context coverage, improving the performance of LMs. Vec-Tok Speech can be used for intra- and cross-lingual zero-shot voice conversion (VC), zero-shot speaking style transfer text-to-speech (TTS), speech-to-speech translation (S2ST), speech denoising, and speaker de-identification and anonymization. Experiments show that Vec-Tok Speech, built on 50k hours of speech, performs better than other SOTA models. Code will be available at https://github.com/BakerBunker/VecTok .

SALT: Distinguishable Speaker Anonymization Through Latent Space Transformation

Speaker anonymization aims to conceal a speaker's identity without degrading speech quality and intelligibility. Most speaker anonymization systems disentangle the speaker representation from the original speech and achieve anonymization by averaging or modifying the speaker representation. However, the anonymized speech is subject to reduction in pseudo speaker distinctiveness, speech quality and intelligibility for out-of-distribution speaker. To solve this issue, we propose SALT, a Speaker Anonymization system based on Latent space Transformation. Specifically, we extract latent features by a self-supervised feature extractor and randomly sample multiple speakers and their weights, and then interpolate the latent vectors to achieve speaker anonymization. Meanwhile, we explore the extrapolation method to further extend the diversity of pseudo speakers. Experiments on Voice Privacy Challenge dataset show our system achieves a state-of-the-art distinctiveness metric while preserving speech quality and intelligibility. Our code and demo is availible at https://github.com/BakerBunker/SALT .

DetZero: Rethinking Offboard 3D Object Detection with Long-term Sequential Point Clouds

Existing offboard 3D detectors always follow a modular pipeline design to take advantage of unlimited sequential point clouds. We have found that the full potential of offboard 3D detectors is not explored mainly due to two reasons: (1) the onboard multi-object tracker cannot generate sufficient complete object trajectories, and (2) the motion state of objects poses an inevitable challenge for the object-centric refining stage in leveraging the long-term temporal context representation. To tackle these problems, we propose a novel paradigm of offboard 3D object detection, named DetZero. Concretely, an offline tracker coupled with a multi-frame detector is proposed to focus on the completeness of generated object tracks. An attention-mechanism refining module is proposed to strengthen contextual information interaction across long-term sequential point clouds for object refining with decomposed regression methods. Extensive experiments on Waymo Open Dataset show our DetZero outperforms all state-of-the-art onboard and offboard 3D detection methods. Notably, DetZero ranks 1st place on Waymo 3D object detection leaderboard with 85.15 mAPH (L2) detection performance. Further experiments validate the application of taking the place of human labels with such high-quality results. Our empirical study leads to rethinking conventions and interesting findings that can guide future research on offboard 3D object detection.

METTS: Multilingual Emotional Text-to-Speech by Cross-speaker and Cross-lingual Emotion Transfer

Previous multilingual text-to-speech (TTS) approaches have considered leveraging monolingual speaker data to enable cross-lingual speech synthesis. However, such data-efficient approaches have ignored synthesizing emotional aspects of speech due to the challenges of cross-speaker cross-lingual emotion transfer - the heavy entanglement of speaker timbre, emotion, and language factors in the speech signal will make a system produce cross-lingual synthetic speech with an undesired foreign accent and weak emotion expressiveness. This paper proposes the Multilingual Emotional TTS (METTS) model to mitigate these problems, realizing both cross-speaker and cross-lingual emotion transfer. Specifically, METTS takes DelightfulTTS as the backbone model and proposes the following designs. First, to alleviate the foreign accent problem, METTS introduces multi-scale emotion modeling to disentangle speech prosody into coarse-grained and fine-grained scales, producing language-agnostic and language-specific emotion representations, respectively. Second, as a pre-processing step, formant shift-based information perturbation is applied to the reference signal for better disentanglement of speaker timbre in the speech. Third, a vector quantization-based emotion matcher is designed for reference selection, leading to decent naturalness and emotion diversity in cross-lingual synthetic speech. Experiments demonstrate the good design of METTS.

MASNet:Improve Performance of Siamese Networks with Mutual-attention for Remote Sensing Change Detection Tasks

Siamese networks are widely used for remote sensing change detection tasks. A vanilla siamese network has two identical feature extraction branches which share weights, these two branches work independently and the feature maps are not fused until about to be sent to a decoder head. However we find that it is critical to exchange information between two feature extraction branches at early stage for change detection task. In this work we present Mutual-Attention Siamese Network (MASNet), a general siamese network with mutual-attention plug-in, so to exchange information between the two feature extraction branches. We show that our modification improve the performance of siamese networks on multi change detection datasets, and it works for both convolutional neural network and visual transformer.

Improving Cross-lingual Speech Synthesis with Triplet Training Scheme

Recent advances in cross-lingual text-to-speech (TTS) made it possible to synthesize speech in a language foreign to a monolingual speaker. However, there is still a large gap between the pronunciation of generated cross-lingual speech and that of native speakers in terms of naturalness and intelligibility. In this paper, a triplet training scheme is proposed to enhance the cross-lingual pronunciation by allowing previously unseen content and speaker combinations to be seen during training. Proposed method introduces an extra fine-tune stage with triplet loss during training, which efficiently draws the pronunciation of the synthesized foreign speech closer to those from the native anchor speaker, while preserving the non-native speaker's timbre. Experiments are conducted based on a state-of-the-art baseline cross-lingual TTS system and its enhanced variants. All the objective and subjective evaluations show the proposed method brings significant improvement in both intelligibility and naturalness of the synthesized cross-lingual speech.

A study of the requirements of p-11B fusion reactor by tokamak system code

Most tokamak devices including ITER exploit the D-T reaction due to its high reactivity, but the wall loading caused by the associated 14MeV neutrons will limit the further development of fusion performance at high beta. To explore p-11B fusion cycle, a tokamak system code is extended to incorporate the relativistic bremsstrahlung since the temperature of electrons is approaching the rest energy of electron. By choosing an optimum p-11B mix and ion temperature, some representative sets of parameters of p-11B tokamak reactor, whose fusion gain exceeds 1, have been found under the thermal wall loading limit and beta limit when synchrotron radiation loss is neglected. However, the fusion gain greatly decreases when the effect of synchrotron radiation loss is considered. Helium ash also plays an important role in the fusion performance, and we have found that the helium confinement time must be below the energy confinement time to keep the helium concentration ratio in an acceptable range.
