Hybrid Chaplygin gas and phantom divide crossing

Hybrid Chaplygin gas model is put forward, in which the gases play the role of dark energy. For this model the coincidence problem is greatly alleviated. The effective equation of state of the dark energy may cross the phantom divide $w=-1$. Furthermore, the crossing behaviour is decoupled from any gravity theories. In the present model, $w<-1$ is only a transient behaviour. There is a de Sitter attractor in the future infinity. Hence, the big rip singularity, which often afflicts the models with matter whose effective equation of state less than -1, is naturally disappear. There exist stable scaling solutions, both at the early universe and the late universe. We discuss the perturbation growth of this model. We find that the index is consistent with observations.

A quantitative criteria for the coincidence problem

The cosmic coincidence problem is a serious challenge to dark energy model. We suggest a quantitative criteria for judging the severity of the coincidence problem. Applying this criteria to three different interacting models, including the interacting quintessence, interacting phantom, and interacting Chaplygin gas models, we find that the interacting Chaplygin gas model has a better chance to solve the coincidence problem. Quantitatively, we find that the coincidence index C for the interacting Chaplygin gas model is smaller than that for the interacting quintessence and phantom models by six orders of magnitude.

A new class of plane symmetric solution

A new class of static plane symmetric solution of Einstein field equation generated by a perfect fluid source is put forward. A special family of this new solution is investigated in detail. The constraints on the parameters by different energy conditions are studied. The classical stability of this solution is discussed. The junction conditions matching to Minkowski metric and Taub metric are analyzed respectively.

Critical comments on the paper "Crossing $ω=-1$ by a single scalar field on a Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati brane" by H Zhang and Z-H Zhu [Phys.Rev.D75,023510(2007)]

It is demonstrated that the claim in the paper "Crossing $ω=-1$ by a single scalar field on a Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati brane" by H Zhang and Z-H Zhu [Phys.Rev.D75,023510(2007)], about a prove that there do not exist scaling solutions in a universe with dust in a Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) braneworld scenario, is incorrect.

Probing the nature of cosmic acceleration

The cosmic acceleration is one of the most significant cosmological discoveries over the last century. The two categories of explanation are exotic component (dark energy) and modified gravity. We constrain the two types of model by a joint analysis with perturbation growth and direct $H(z)$ data. Though the minimal $χ^2$ of the $Λ$CDM is almost the same as that of DGP, in the sense of consistency we find that the dark energy ($Λ$CDM) model is more favored through a detailed comparison with the corresponding parameters fitted by expansion data.

Natural Phantom Dark Energy, Wiggling Hubble Parameter $H(z)$ and Direct $H(z)$ Data

Recent direct $H(z)$ data indicate that the parameter $H(z)$ may wiggle with respect to $z$. On the other hand the luminosity distance data of supernovae flatten the wiggles of $H(z)$ because of integration effect. It is expected that the fitting results can be very different in a model permitting a wiggling $H(z)$ because the data of supernovae is highly degenerated to such a model. As an example the natural phantom dark energy is investigated in this paper. The dynamical property of this model is studied. The model is fitted by the direct $H(z)$ data set and the SNLS data set, respectively. And the results are quite different, as expected. The quantum stability of this model is also shortly discussed. We find it is a viable model if we treat it as an effective theory truncated by an upperbound.

Curvaton reheating mechanism in inflation on warped Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati brane

An impressed feature of inflation on warped Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati (DGP) brane is that the inflationary phase exits spontaneously for a scalar inflaton field with exponential potential, which presents a graceful exit mechanism for the inflation. But its reheating mechanism leaves open. We investigate the curvaton reheating in inflation on warped DGP brane model. The reheating may occur in effctively 5 dimensional or 4 dimensional stage. We study the permitted parameter space of the curvaton field in detail. We demonstrate how the inflation model of the warped DGP brane is improved by the curvaton mechanism.

Interacting Chaplygin gas

We investigate a kind of interacting Chaplygin gas model in which the Chaplygin gas plays the role of dark energy and interacts with cold dark matter particles. We find that there exists a stable scaling solution at late times with the Universe evolving into a phase of steady state. Furthermore, the effective equation of state of Chaplygin gas may cross the so-called phantom divide $w=-1$. The above results are derived from continuity equations, which means that they are independent of any gravity theories. Assuming standard general relativity and a spatially flat FRW metric, we also find the deceleration parameter is well consistent with current observations.

Friedmann cosmology on codimension 2 brane with time dependent tension

A solution of codimension 2 brane is found for which 4 dimensional Friedmann cosmology is recovered on the brane with time dependent tension, in the Einstein frame. The effective parameter $p/ρ$ of equation of state on the brane can be quintessence like, de Sitter like or phantom like, depending on integration constants of the solution.

Inflation on a Warped Dvali-Gabadadze-Porrati Brane

We discuss an inflation model, in which the inflation is driven by a single scalar field with exponential potential on a warped DGP brane. In contrast to the power law inflation in standard model, we find that the inflationary phase can exit spontaneously without any mechanism. The running of the index of scalar perturbation spectrum can take an enough large value to match the observation data, while other parameters are in a reasonable region.
