Murmurations in the depth aspect

We compute the murmuration density function for the family of Hecke forms of weight $k$ and prime power level $N=\ell^a$, with $\ell$ a fixed odd prime and $a\to \infty$.

CM-liftability of simple superspecial abelian surfaces over prime fields

For any prime $p>0$, we prove that simple superspecial abelian surfaces over $\mathbb{F}_{p}$ admit CM liftings after base change at most to $\mathbb{F}_{p^2}$, by using the residual reflex condition (RRC) and Lie types. The CM-liftability of ordinary simple abelian surfaces is proved by Serre-Tate, and the CM-liftability of almost ordinary simple abelian surfaces is proved by Oswal-Shankar and Bergstr\"om-Karemaker-Marseglia, respectively. As there can only be ordinary, almost ordinary, or supersingular simple abelian surfaces over $\mathbb{F}_{p}$, our work is another step to complete the CM-liftability of simple abelian surfaces over $\mathbb{F}_{p}$.

On Tamagawa numbers of CM tori

In this article we investigate the problem of computing Tamagawa numbers of CM tori. This problem arises naturally from the problem of counting polarized abelian varieties with commutative endomorphism algebras over finite fields, and polarized CM abelian varieties and components of unitary Shimura varieties in the works of Achter--Altug--Garcia--Gordon and of Guo--Sheu--Yu, respectively. We make a systematic study on Galois cohomology groups in a more general setting and compute the Tamagawa numbers of CM tori associated to various Galois CM fields. Furthermore, we show that every (positive or negative) power of $2$ is the Tamagawa number of a CM tori, proving the analogous conjecture of Ono for CM tori.
