On nondiagonal finite quasi-qantum groups over finite abelian groups

In this paper, we initiate the study of nondiagonal finite quasi-quantum groups over finite abelian groups. We mainly study the Nichols algebras in the twisted Yetter-Drinfeld module category $_{\k G}^{\k G}\mathcal{YD}^Φ$ with $Φ$ a nonabelian $3$-cocycle on a finite abelian group $G.$ A complete clarification is obtained for the Nichols algebra $B(V)$ in case $V$ is a simple twisted Yetter-Drinfeld module of nondiagonal type. This is also applied to provide a complete classification of finite-dimensional coradically graded pointed coquasi-Hopf algebras over abelian groups of odd order and confirm partially the generation conjecture of pointed finite tensor categories due to Etingof, Gelaki, Nikshych and Ostrik.

A Generalization of the Doubling Construction for Sums of Squares Identities

The doubling construction is a fast and important way to generate new solutions to the Hurwitz problem on sums of squares identities from any known ones. In this short note, we generalize the doubling construction and obtain from any given admissible triple $[r,s,n]$ a series of new ones $[r+ρ(2^{m-1}),2^ms,2^mn]$ for all positive integer $m$, where $ρ$ is the Hurwitz-Radon function.

$\Z_2^n$-graded quasialgebras and the Hurwitz problem on compositions of quadratic forms

We introduce a series of $\Z_2^n$-graded quasialgebras $\bbP_n(m)$ which generalizes Clifford algebras, higher octonions, and higher Cayley algebras. The constructed series of algebras and their minor perturbations are applied to contribute explicit solutions to the Hurwitz problem on compositions of quadratic forms. In particular, we provide explicit expressions of the well-known Hurwitz-Radon square identities in a uniform way, recover the Yuzvinsky-Lam-Smith formulas, confirm the third family of admissible triples proposed by Yuzvinsky in 1984, improve the two infinite families of solutions obtained recently by Lenzhen, Morier-Genoud and Ovsienko, and construct several new infinite families of solutions.

Universal freezing of asymmetry

Asymmetry of quantum states is a useful resource in applications such as quantum metrology, quantum communication, and reference frame alignment. However, asymmetry of a state tends to be degraded in physical scenarios where environment-induced noise is described by covariant operations, e.g., open systems constrained by superselection rules, and such degradations weaken the abilities of the state to implement quantum information processing tasks. In this paper, we investigate under which dynamical conditions asymmetry of a state is totally unaffected by the noise described by covariant operations. We find that all asymmetry measures are frozen for a state under a covariant operation if and only if the relative entropy of asymmetry is frozen for the state. Our finding reveals the existence of universal freezing of asymmetry, and provides a necessary and sufficient condition under which asymmetry is totally unaffected by the noise.

Finite quasi-quantum groups of diagonal type

The goal of the present paper is to classify an interesting class of elementary quasi-Hopf algebras, or equivalently, finite-dimensional pointed Majid algebras. By a Tannaka-Krein type duality, this determines a big class of pointed finite tensor categories. Based on some interesting observations of normalized 3-cocycles on finite abelian groups, we elucidate an explicit connection between our objective pointed Majid algebras and finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras over finite abelian groups. With a help of this connection and the successful theory of diagonal Nichols algebras over abelian groups, we provide a conceptual classification of finite-dimensional graded pointed Majid algebras of diagonal type. Some efficient methods of construction are also given.

General approach to find steady-state manifolds in Markovian and non-Markovian systems

Steady-state manifolds of open quantum systems, such as decoherence-free subspaces and noiseless subsystems, are of great practical importance to the end of quantum information processing. Yet, it is a difficult problem to find steady-state manifolds of open quantum systems, especially of non-Markovian systems. In this paper, we propose an approach to find the steady-state manifolds, which is generally applicable to both Markovian and non-Markovian systems. Our approach is based on an arbitrarily given steady state, and by following the standard steps of the approach, the steady-state manifold on the support subspace of the given state can be obtained. Our work reduces the problem of finding a manifold of steady states to that of finding only one steady state, which is indeed an interesting progress towards completely solving the difficult problem. Besides, in deriving our approach, we introduce the notions of the modified noise algebra and its commutant, and prove two theorems on the structure of steady-state manifolds of general open systems, which themselves are interesting findings too.

Non-Markovian quantum dissipative processes with the same positive features as Markovian dissipative processes

It has been found that Markovian quantum dissipative processes, described by the Lindblad equation, may have attractive steady-state manifolds, in which dissipation and decoherence can play a positive role to quantum information processing. In this article, we show that such attractive steady-state manifolds with the same positive features as in Markovian dissipative processes can exist in the non-Markovian dissipative processes. Our finding indicates that the dissipation-assisted schemes implemented in the Markovian systems can be directly generalized to the non-Markovian systems.

Generalized Clifford Algebras as Algebras in Suitable Symmetric Linear Gr-Categories

By viewing Clifford algebras as algebras in some suitable symmetric Gr-categories, Albuquerque and Majid were able to give a new derivation of some well known results about Clifford algebras and to generalize them. Along the same line, Bulacu observed that Clifford algebras are weak Hopf algebras in the aforementioned categories and obtained other interesting properties. The aim of this paper is to study generalized Clifford algebras in a similar manner and extend the results of Albuquerque, Majid and Bulacu to the generalized setting. In particular, by taking full advantage of the gauge transformations in symmetric linear Gr-categories, we derive the decomposition theorem and provide categorical weak Hopf structures for generalized Clifford algebras in a conceptual and simpler manner.

Quasi-Quantum Linear Spaces

We provide a classification of finite-dimensional graded pointed Majid algebras generated by finite abelian groups as group-like elements and a set of quasi-commutative skew-primitive elements. This amounts to a classification of finite quasi-quantum linear spaces in the sense of nonassociative geometry.

Finite quasi-quantum groups of rank two

This is a contribution to the structure theory of finite pointed quasi-quantum groups. We classify all finite-dimensional connected graded pointed Majid algebras of rank two which are not twist equivalent to ordinary pointed Hopf algebras.

The braided monoidal structures on a class of linear Gr-categories

A linear Gr-category is a category of finite-dimensional vector spaces graded by a finite group together with natural tensor product. We classify the braided monoidal structures of a class of linear Gr-categories via explicit computations of the 3-cocycles and quasi-bicharacters of finite abelian groups which are direct product of two cyclic groups.

Quasi-Quantum Planes and Quasi-Quantum Groups of Dimension $p^3$ and $p^4$

The aim of this paper is to contribute more examples and classification results of finite pointed quasi-quantum groups within the quiver framework initiated in \cite{qha1, qha2}. The focus is put on finite dimensional graded Majid algebras generated by group-like elements and two skew-primitive elements which are mutually skew-commutative. Such quasi-quantum groups are associated to quasi-quantum planes in the sense of nonassociative geomertry \cite{m1, m2}. As an application, we obtain an explicit classification of graded pointed Majid algebras with abelian coradical of dimension $p^3$ and $p^4$ for any prime number $p.$

The Green rings of minimal Hopf quivers

Let $\k$ be a field and $Q$ a minimal Hopf quiver, i.e., a cyclic quiver or the infinite linear quiver, and let $\rep^{ln}(Q)$ denote the category of locally nilpotent finite dimensional $\k$-representations of $Q.$ The category $\rep^{ln}(Q)$ has natural tensor structures induced from graded Hopf structures on the path coalgebra $\k Q.$ Tensor categories of the form $\rep^{ln} (Q)$ are an interesting class of tame hereditary pointed tensor categories which are not finite. The aim of this paper is to compute the Clebsch-Gordan formulae and Green rings of such tensor categories.

Graded elementary quasi-Hopf algebras of tame representation type

The class of graded elementary quasi-Hopf algebras of tame type is classified. Combining with our previous work [19], this completes the trichotomy for such class of algebras according to their representation types. In addition, new examples of genuine elementary quasi-Hopf algebras, and accordingly finite pointed tensor categories, are provided.

Quiver Bialgebras and Monoidal Categories

We study the bialgebra structures on quiver coalgebras and the monoidal structures on the categories of locally nilpotent and locally finite quiver representations. It is shown that the path coalgebra of an arbitrary quiver admits natural bialgebra structures. This endows the category of locally nilpotent and locally finite representations of an arbitrary quiver with natural monoidal structures from bialgebras. We also obtain theorems of Gabriel type for pointed bialgebras and hereditary finite pointed monoidal categories.

Commutative Hopf structures over a loop

Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. For a loop $\circlearrowleft$, denote its path coalgebra by $k\circlearrowleft$. In this paper, all the finite-dimensional commutative Hopf algebras over the sub coalgebras of $k\circlearrowleft$ are given. As a direct consequence, all the commutative infinitesimal groups $\mathcal{G}$ with dim$_{k}$Lie$(\mathcal{G})=1$ are classified.
