Predicted $Ξ_b(6087)^0$ and further predictions

The methods of QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within the framework of heavy quark effective theory have been widely applied to study the singly heavy baryons, and especially, we have applied these methods to predict not only the mass and width of the $Ξ_b(6087)^0$ recently discovered by LHCb, but also its observation channel and its mass difference from the $Ξ_b(6100)^-$. We apply the same approach to perform a complete study on the $P$-wave bottom baryons of the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{\bar 3}_F$ and investigate their fine structure. Besides the $Λ_b(5912)^0$, $Λ_b(5920)^0$, $Ξ_b(6087)^0$, and $Ξ_b(6100)^-$, our results suggest the existence of the other two $Λ_b$ and two $Ξ_b$ baryons, whose widths are limited. They are the $Λ_b(J^P = 3/2^-)$ with the mass and width about $(5.93^{+0.13}_{-0.13}~{\rm GeV},\,0.0^{+12.0}_{-~0.0}~{\rm MeV})$, the $Λ_b(5/2^-)$ with $(5.94^{+0.13}_{-0.13}~{\rm GeV},\,\approx0~{\rm MeV})$, the $Ξ_b(3/2^-)$ with $(6.10^{+0.15}_{-0.10}~{\rm GeV},\,1.4{^{+11.6}_{-~1.4}}~{\rm MeV})$, and the $Ξ_b(5/2^-)$ with $(6.11^{+0.15}_{-0.10}~{\rm GeV},\,1.0{^{+7.4}_{-1.0}}~{\rm MeV})$. Their mass splittings are calculated to be $M_{Λ_b(5/2^-)} - M_{Λ_b(3/2^-)} = 17\pm7~{\rm MeV}$ and $M_{Ξ_b(5/2^-)} - M_{Ξ_b(3/2^-)} = 14\pm7~{\rm MeV}$. All these baryons are explained as the $P$-wave bottom baryons of the $ρ$-mode, where the orbital excitation is between the two light quarks. However, the existence of this mode is still controversial, so their experimental searches can verify both our approach and the existence of the $ρ$-mode, which can significantly improve our understanding on the internal structure of hadrons.

$J/ψ$ decays into $ω(ϕ) f_1(1285)$ and $ω(ϕ) \,''f_1(1420)''$

We perform a theoretical study of the $J/ψ\to ω(ϕ) K^* \bar{K} + c.c. \to ω(ϕ) K^0 π^+ K^-$ reactions with the assumption that the $f_1(1285)$ is dynamically generated from a single channel $K^* \bar{K} + c.c$ interaction in the chiral unitary approach. Two peaks in the $K^0 π^+ K^-$ invariant mass distribution are observed, one clear peak locates at the $f_1(1285)$ nominal mass, the other peak locates at around $1420\; \rm MeV$ with about $70 \;\rm MeV$ width. We conclude that the former peak is associated with the $f_1(1285)$ and the latter peak is not a genuine resonance but a manifestation of the kinematic effect in the higher energy region caused by the $K^* \bar{K} + c.c.$ decay mode of the $f_1(1285)$.

Molecular pentaquark states with open charm and bottom flavors

We study the possibly-existing molecular pentaquark states with open charm and bottom flavors, {\it i.e.}, the states with the quark contents $c\bar{b}qqq$ and $b\bar{c}qqq$ ($q=u,d,s$). We investigate the meson-baryon interactions through the coupled-channel unitary approach within the local hidden-gauge formalism, and extract the poles by solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation in coupled channels. These poles qualify as molecular pentaquark states, which are dynamically generated from the meson-baryon interactions through the exchange of vector mesons. Our results suggest the existence of the $Σ_c^{(*)} B^{(*)}$ and $Σ_b^{(*)} \bar{D}^{(*)}$ molecular states with isospin $I=1/2$, the $Ξ_c^{(\prime,*)} B^{(*)}$ and $Ξ_b^{(\prime,*)} \bar{D}^{(*)}$ molecular states with isospin $I=0$ and $I=1$, as well as the $Ω_c^{(*)} B^{(*)}$ and $Ω_b^{(*)} \bar D^{(*)}$ molecular states with isospin $I=1/2$.

Strong decays of $T_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++/0}$ as a fully open-flavor tetraquark state

We have studied the strong decay properties of the recently observed $T^a_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++/0}$ by considering it as a $cu\bar{d}\bar{s}/cd\bar{u}\bar{s}$ fully open-flavor tetraquark state with $I(J^P)=1(0^+)$. In the framework of QCD sum rules, we have calculated the three-point correlation functions of the two-body strong decay processes $T^a_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++}\rightarrow D_s^+π^+$, $D^+K^+, D_s^{\ast +}ρ^+$ and $D_{s1}^+π^+$. The full width of $T^a_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++/0}$ is obtained as $161.7\pm94.8$ MeV, which is consistent with the experimental observation. We predict the relative branching ratios as $Γ(T\rightarrow D_sπ):Γ(T\rightarrow DK):Γ(T\rightarrow D_s^{\ast} ρ):Γ(T\rightarrow D_{s1}π)\approx1.00:1.10:0.04:0.43$, implying that the main decay modes of $T^a_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++/0}$ state are $D_sπ$ and $DK$ channels in our calculations. However, the $P$-wave decay mode $D_{s1}π$ is also comparable and important by including the uncertainties. To further identify the nature of $T^a_{c\bar s0}(2900)^{++/0}$, we suggest confirming them in the $DK$ and $D_{s}π$ final states, and measuring the above ratios in future experiments.

Double-gluon charmonium hybrid states with various (exotic) quantum numbers

We study the double-gluon charmonium hybrid states with various quantum numbers, each of which is composed of one valence charm quark and one valence charm antiquark as well as two valence gluons. We concentrate on the exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC} =0^{--}/0^{+-}/1^{-+}/2^{+-}/3^{-+}$ that the conventional $\bar q q$ mesons can not reach. We apply the QCD sum rule method to calculate their masses to be $7.28^{+0.38}_{-0.43}$ GeV, $5.19^{+0.36}_{-0.46}$ GeV, $5.46^{+0.41}_{-0.62}$ GeV, $4.48^{+0.25}_{-0.31}$ GeV, and $5.54^{+0.35}_{-0.43}$ GeV, respectively. We study their possible decay patterns and propose to search for the $J^{PC}=2^{+-}/3^{-+}$ states in the $D^*\bar D^{(*)}/D^{*}_s \bar D^{(*)}_s/Σ_c^* \bar Σ_c^{(*)}/Ξ_c^* \bar Ξ_c^{(\prime,*)}$ channels. Experimental investigations on these states and decay channels can be useful in classifying the nature of the hybrid state, thus serving as a direct test of QCD in the low energy sector.

2$P$-wave charmed baryons from QCD sum rules

We conduct an investigation on the $1P$- and $2P$-wave charmed baryons using the methods of QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Our results suggest that the $Λ_c(2910)^+$, $Λ_c(2940)^+$, and $Ξ_c(3123)^+$ can be well interpreted as the $2P$-wave charmed baryons of $J^P=1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$, belonging to the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{\bar 3}_F$ representation. Moreover, the $Ξ_c(3123)^+$ possesses a partner state characterized by $J^P=1/2^-$, denoted as $Ξ_c(1/2^-,2P)$. Our analysis predicts its mass and width to be $m_{Ξ_c(1/2^-,2P)} - m_{Ξ_c(3123)^+} = -18\pm{7}$MeV and $Γ_{Ξ_c(2P,1/2^-)}=31^{+170}_{-27}$MeV, with $m_{Ξ_c(3123)^+} = 3122.9\pm{1.3}$MeV. We propose to search for it in the $Ξ_c(1/2^-,2P)\to Σ_c K$ decay channel.

Strong decays of the $ϕ(2170)$ as a fully-strange tetraquark state

We study strong decays of the $ϕ(2170)$, along with its possible partner $X(2436)$, as two fully-strange tetraquark states of $J^{PC} = 1^{--}$. We consider seven decay channels: $ϕη$, $ϕη^\prime$, $ϕf_0(980)$, $ϕf_1(1420)$, $h_1(1415) η$, $h_1(1415) η^\prime$, and $h_1(1415) f_1(1420)$. Some of these channels are kinematically possible, and we calculate their relative branching ratios through the Fierz rearrangement. Future experimental measurements on these ratios can be useful in determining the nature of the $ϕ(2170)$ and $X(2436)$. The $ϕ(2170)$ has been observed in the $ϕf_0(980)$, $ϕη$, and $ϕη^\prime$ channels, and we propose to further examine it in the $h_1(1415) η$ channel. Evidences of the $X(2436)$ have been observed in the $ϕf_0(980)$ channel, and we propose to verify whether this structure exists or not in the $ϕη$, $ϕη^\prime$, $h_1(1415) η$, and $h_1(1415) η^\prime$ channels.

Fully-strange tetraquark states with the exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 0^{+-}$ and $2^{+-}$

We study the fully-strange tetraquark states with the exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 0^{+-}$ and $2^{+-}$. We construct their corresponding diquark-antidiquark interpolating currents, and apply the QCD sum rule method to calculate both their diagonal and off-diagonal correlation functions. The obtained results are used to construct some mixing currents that are nearly non-correlated, from which we extract the masses of the lowest-lying states to be $M_{0^{+-}} = 2.45^{+0.33}_{-0.44}$ GeV and $M_{2^{+-}} = 3.07^{+0.25}_{-0.33}$ GeV. We apply the Fierz rearrangement to transform the diquark-antidiquark currents to be the combinations of meson-meson currents, and the obtained Fierz identities indicate that these two states may be searched for in the $P$-wave $ϕ(1020) f_0(1710)/ϕ(1020) f_2^\prime(1525) (\to ϕK \bar K / ϕππ)$ channels.

Light double-gluon hybrid states with the exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ and $3^{-+}$

We apply the QCD sum rule method to study the double-gluon hybrid states with the quark-gluon contents $\bar q q gg$ ($q=u/d$) and $\bar s s gg$. We construct twenty-eight double-gluon hybrid currents, eleven of which are found to be zero due to some internal symmetries between the two gluons fields. We concentrate on the non-vanishing currents with the exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ and $3^{-+}$. Their masses are calculated to be $M_{|\bar q q gg;1^{-+}\rangle} = 4.35^{+0.26}_{-0.30}$ GeV, $M_{|\bar s s gg;1^{-+}\rangle} = 4.49^{+0.25}_{-0.30}$ GeV, $M_{|\bar q q gg;3^{-+}\rangle} = 3.02^{+0.24}_{-0.31}$ GeV, and $M_{|\bar s s gg;3^{-+}\rangle} = 3.16^{+0.22}_{-0.28}$ GeV. The decay behaviors of the $J^{PC} = 3^{-+}$ states are studied, and we propose to search for them in the $πa_1(1260)/ρω/ϕϕ$ channels in future particle experiments.

Hadronic molecular states with the quark contents $bc\bar{s}\bar{q}$, $b\bar{c}s\bar{q}$, and $b\bar{c}\bar{s}q$

We study the hadronic molecular states with the quark content $bc\bar{s}\bar{q}$ by investigating the interactions of the $\bar{B}_s D$, $\bar{B} D_s$, $\bar{B}_s^* D$, $\bar{B}^* D_s$, $\bar{B}_s D^*$, $\bar{B} D_s^*$, $\bar{B}_s^* D^*$, and $\bar{B}^* D_s^*$ systems. By solving the Bethe-Salpeter equation within the extended local hidden gauge formalism, we find altogether six poles qualifying as possible hadronic molecular states: one pole of $J^P=0^+$ below the $\bar{B}_s D$-$\bar{B}D_s$ threshold, one pole of $J^P=1^+$ below the $\bar{B}_s^* D$-$\bar{B}^* D_s$ threshold, one pole of $J^P=1^+$ below the $\bar{B}_s D^*$-$\bar{B}D_s^*$ threshold, and three poles of $J^P=0^+/1^+/2^+$ below the $\bar{B}_s^* D^*$-$\bar{B}^* D_s^*$ threshold. Their binding energies are calculated to be about 10-20 MeV with the cut-off momentum $q_\textrm{max}=600\textrm{ MeV}$. Similarly, we study the hadronic molecular states with $bs\bar{c}\bar{q}$ by investigating the interactions of the $\bar{B}\bar{D}_s$, $\bar{B}_c\bar{K}$, $\bar{B}^*\bar{D}_s$, $\bar{B}_c^*\bar{K}$, $\bar{B}\bar{D}_s^*$, $\bar{B}_c\bar{K}^*$, $\bar{B}^*\bar{D}_s^*$, $\bar{B}_c^*\bar{K}^*$ systems, and the states with $bq\bar{c}\bar{s}$ by investigating the interactions of the $\bar{B}_s\bar{D}$, $\bar{B}_cK$, $\bar{B}_s^*\bar{D}$, $\bar{B}_c^*K$, $\bar{B}_s\bar{D}^*$, $\bar{B}_cK^*$, $\bar{B}_s^*\bar{D}^*$, $\bar{B}_c^*K^*$ systems. However, no deeply-bound poles are found in these systems.

Light double-gluon hybrid states from QCD sum rules

We study the double-gluon hybrid states with the quark-gluon contents $\bar q q gg$ ($q=u/d$) and $\bar s s gg$. We construct twelve double-gluon hybrid currents with various quantum numbers, five of which are found to be zero due to some internal symmetries between the two gluon fields. We use the rest seven currents to perform QCD sum rule analyses. Especially, the masses of the double-gluon hybrid states with the exotic quantum number $J^{PC} = 2^{+-}$ are calculated to be $M_{|\bar q q gg;2^{+-}\rangle} = 2.26^{+0.20}_{-0.25}$ GeV and $M_{|\bar s s gg;2^{+-}\rangle} = 2.38^{+0.19}_{-0.25}$ GeV. Their two- and three-meson decay patterns are also investigated.

Searching for fully-heavy tetraquark states in QCD moment sum rules

In this talk, we briefly report the investigations of the mass spectra for the $cc\bar c\bar c, bb\bar b\bar b$, $bc\bar b\bar c$ and $cc\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark states by using the QCD moment sum rule method. The calculations for the fully-charm $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks have been successfully predicted the existence of di-$J/ψ$ resonances including $X(6900)$ in LHCb's observation. The quantum numbers for these resonance structures are also suggested. More efforts are still needed in both theoretical and experimental aspects to study the properties of these fully-heavy tetraquark states. They may be observed at facilities such as LHCb, CMS and RHIC in the future.

An updated review of the new hadron states

The past decades witnessed the golden era of hadron physics. Many excited open heavy flavor mesons and baryons have been observed since 2017. We shall provide an updated review of the recent experimental and theoretical progresses in this active field. Besides the conventional heavy hadrons, we shall also review the recently observed open heavy flavor tetraquark states $X(2900)$ and $T_{cc}^+(3875)$ as well as the hidden heavy flavor multiquark states $X(6900)$, $P_{cs}(4459)^0$, $Z_{cs}(3985)^-$, $Z_{cs}(4000)^+$, and $Z_{cs}(4220)^+$. We will also cover the recent progresses on the glueballs and light hybrid mesons, which are the direct manifestations of the non-Abelian $SU(3)$ gauge interaction of the Quantum Chromodynamics in the low-energy region.

Decay behaviors of the fully-bottom and fully-charm tetraquark states

We study the decay behaviors of the fully-bottom tetraquark states within the diquark-antidiquark picture, and calculate their relative branching ratios through the Fierz rearrangement. Our results suggest that the $C=+$ states can be searched for in the $μ^+ μ^- Υ(1S)$ and $μ^+ μ^- Υ(2S)$ channels with the relative branching ratio $\mathcal{B}(X \to μμΥ(2S)) / \mathcal{B}(X \to μμΥ(1S)) \approx 0.4$. Our results also suggest that the $C=-$ states can be searched for in the $μ^+ μ^- η_b(1S)$ and $μ^+ μ^- η_b(2S)$ channels with the similar relative branching ratio $\mathcal{B}(X \to μμη_b(2S)) / \mathcal{B}(X \to μμη_b(1S)) \approx 0.4$. We also reanalysis the fully-charm tetraquark states, and study the $X(6900)$ decay into the $J/ψψ(2S)$ channel to obtain the relative branching ratio $\mathcal{B}(X \to J/ψψ(2S)) / \mathcal{B}(X \to J/ψJ/ψ) \approx 0.1$.

Highly excited and exotic fully-strange tetraquark states

Some hadrons have the exotic quantum numbers that the traditional $\bar q q$ mesons and $qqq$ baryons can not reach, such as $J^{PC} = 0^{--}/0^{+-}/1^{-+}/2^{+-}/3^{-+}/4^{+-}$, etc. We investigate for the first time the exotic quantum number $J^{PC}=4^{+-}$, and study the fully-strange tetraquark states with such an exotic quantum number. We systematically construct all the diquark-antidiquark interpolating currents, and apply the method of QCD sum rules to calculate both the diagonal and off-diagonal correlation functions. The obtained results are used to construct three mixing currents that are nearly non-correlated, and we use one of them to extract the mass of the lowest-lying state to be $2.85^{+0.19}_{-0.22}$ GeV. We apply the Fierz rearrangement to transform this mixing current to be the combination of three meson-meson currents, and the obtained Fierz identity suggests that this state dominantly decays into the $P$-wave $ϕ(1020) f_2^\prime(1525)$ channel. This fully-strange tetraquark state of $J^{PC}=4^{+-}$ is a purely exotic hadron to be potentially observed in future particle experiments.

Covalent hadronic molecules induced by shared light quarks

After examining the Feynman diagrams corresponding to the $\bar D^{(*)} Σ_c^{(*)}$, $\bar D^{(*)} Λ_c$, $D^{(*)} \bar K^{*}$, and $D^{(*)} \bar D^{(*)}$ hadronic molecular states, we propose a possible binding mechanism induced by shared light quarks. This mechanism is similar to the covalent bond in chemical molecules induced by shared electrons. We use the method of QCD sum rules to calculate its corresponding light-quark-exchange diagrams, and the obtained results indicate a model-independent hypothesis: the light-quark-exchange interaction is attractive when the shared light quarks are totally antisymmetric so that obey the Pauli principle. We build a toy model with four parameters to formulize this picture, and estimate binding energies of some possibly-existing covalent hadronic molecules. A unique feature of this picture is that binding energies of the $(I)J^P = (0)1^+$ $D\bar B^*/D^* \bar B$ hadronic molecules are much larger than those of the $(I)J^P = (0)1^+$ $DD^*/\bar B \bar B^*$ ones, while the $(I)J^P = (1/2)1/2^+$ $\bar D Σ_c/\bar D Σ_b/B Σ_c/B Σ_b$ hadronic molecules have similar binding energies.

Identifying the $Ξ_b(6100)$ as the $P$-wave bottom baryon of $J^P=3/2^-$

We study the $Ξ_b(6100)$ using the methods of QCD sum rules and light-cone sum rules within the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Our results suggest that the $Ξ_b(6100)$ can be well interpreted as the $P$-wave bottom baryon of $J^P=3/2^-$, belonging to the $SU(3)$ flavor $\mathbf{\bar 3}_F$ representation. It has a partner state of $J^P=1/2^-$, labelled as $Ξ_b(1/2^-)$, whose mass and width are predicted to be $m_{Ξ_b(1/2^-)}=6.08^{+0.13}_{-0.11}$~GeV and $Γ_{Ξ_b(1/2^-)}=4^{+29}_{-~4}$~MeV, with the mass splitting $ΔM=m_{Ξ_b(6100)}-m_{Ξ_b(1/2^-)}=9\pm3$~MeV. We propose to search for it in the $Ξ_c({1/2}^-)\to Ξ_b^{\prime}π$ decay channel. Our results also suggest that the $Λ_b(5912)$ and $Λ_b(5920)$ are their partner states with $J^P=1/2^-$ and $3/2^-$ respectively, and moreover, the $Λ_c(2595)$, $Λ_c(2625)$, $Ξ_c(2790)$, and $Ξ_c(2815)$ are their charmed partner states.

$S$- and $P$-wave fully-strange tetraquark states from QCD sum rules

We apply the QCD sum rule method to systematically study the $S$- and $P$-wave fully-strange tetraquark states within the diquark-antidiquark picture. We systematically construct their interpolating currents by explicitly adding the covariant derivative operator. Our results suggest that the $f_0(2100)$, $X(2063)$, and $f_2(2010)$ may be explained as the $S$-wave $s s \bar s \bar s$ tetraquark states with the quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 0^{++}$, $1^{+-}$, and $2^{++}$, respectively. Our results also suggest that both the $X(2370)$ and $X(2500)$ may be explained as the $P$-wave $s s \bar s \bar s$ tetraquark states of $J^{PC} = 0^{-+}$, and both the $ϕ(2170)$ and $X(2400)$ may be explained as the $P$-wave $s s \bar s \bar s$ tetraquark states of $J^{PC} = 1^{--}$. The masses of the $s s \bar s \bar s$ tetraquark states with the exotic quantum number $J^{PC} = 1^{-+}$ are extracted from two non-correlated currents to be $2.45^{+0.20}_{-0.25}$ GeV and $2.49^{+0.21}_{-0.25}$ GeV.
