Ferrimagnetic Skyrmions in a Tetragonal Mn1.9Co0.1Sb Single Crystal at Room Temperature

The development of room temperature small-sized ferrimagnetic skyrmion materials is significant for topological spintronic device applications. As a room temperature ferrimagnetic material, the tetragonal Mn1.9Co0.1Sb crystal exhibits multiple phase transitions, including spin reorientation transitions. However, the magnetic spin textures and their evolution mechanisms during magnetic phase transitions in Mn1.9Co0.1Sb crystals remain unexplored. Using Lorentz transmission electron microscopy, we discovered and verified dipolar skyrmion behavior and its magnetic evolution at room temperature. We established a stable phase diagram of magnetic textures as functions of temperature and magnetic field, while also investigating the evolution mechanisms of spin textures across multiple temperature-induced magnetic phase transitions. Through micromagnetic simulations, a ferrimagnetic configuration with in-plane ferromagnetic coupling and interlayer antiferromagnetic arrangement was established, which stands in contrast to synthetic ferrimagnetic/antiferromagnetic systems that exhibit interlayer antiferromagnetic coupling via the Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) interaction. We determined that the intrinsic frequency of ferrimagnetic skyrmions can reach the THz regime due to strong interlayer antiparallel exchange interactions. These findings highlight the diversity of room temperature ferrimagnetic skyrmion regulation behaviors in Mn1.9Co0.1Sb and their dynamic evolution characteristics, opening new avenues for developing novel spintronic devices with enhanced functionalities capable of operating under ambient conditions.

Enhanced Curie temperature and room-temperature 50-nm skyrmions achieved in hexagonal ferromagnet Mn5Ge3+x synthesized via a high-pressure method

The development of new high-temperature ultrasmall-size skyrmion materials holds immense significance for the promising applications of topological spintronic devices. In this study, we demonstrate that a high-pressure synthesis technique can significantly elevate the Curie temperature of Mn5Ge3+x crystals, from 294 K to 350 K. This enhancement is attributed to the combined effects of lattice contraction and increased Ge content, the conclusion supported by Density Functional Theory calculations. Additionally, our real-space magnetic imaging reveals the stability of dipolar skyrmions with diameters of approximately 50 nm at room temperature. Our micromagnetic simulations closely replicate the diverse experimental topological magnetic textures observed. Furthermore, magnetotransport measurements indicate the potential for the electrical distinction between various topological magnetic textures in skyrmion-based devices. We also report deterministic manipulations on single dipolar skyrmions in confined nanostructures by using in-plane currents. The observation, electrical manipulation, and electrical detection of room-temperature ultrasmall topological magnetic textures underscore the potential of Mn5Ge3+x as a promising platform for spintronic device applications.

Deterministic Electrical Control of Single Magnetic Bubbles in Nanostructured Cells

Localized particle-like spin textures have been found to exhibit emergent electromagnetic properties, which hold promise for the development of intriguing spintronic devices. Among these textures, magnetic bubbles represent localized spin configurations that could serve as data bits. However, the precise methods for their electrical manipulation remain uncertain. Here, we demonstrate the deterministic electrical manipulations and detections of single magnetic bubbles in kagome-latticed Fe3Sn2 magnetic nanostructured cells. The current-induced dynamics of magnetic bubbles were explored using nanosecond pulsed currents. We show single pulsed currents with low and high densities can be applied for the creation and deletion of a single bubble, respectively. The mutual writing-deleting operations on single bubbles are attributed to the thermal heating and non-thermal spin-transfer torque effects in combination with micromagnetic simulations. We also realized the in-situ detection of a single bubble using the anisotropic magnetoresistance effect through a standard four-probe method. Our results could propel the development of bubble-based spintronic devices.

Fresnel Magnetic Imaging of Ultrasmall Skyrmion Lattices

Magnetic skyrmions with ultrasmall nanometric dimensions hold significant promise for next-generation high-density spintronic devices. Direct real-space imaging of these topological spin textures is critical for elucidating their emergent properties at the nanoscale. Here, we present Lorentz transmission electron microscopy studies of nanometric skyrmion lattices in B20-structured Mn0.5Fe0.5Ge crystals using Fresnel mode. According to conventional chiral discrimination methods relying on static bright-dark contrast, we demonstrate an abnormal periodic chiral-reversal phenomenon retrieved through the transport of intensity equation analysis of defocus-dependent Fresnel images. Through systematic off-axis electron holography experiments and numerical simulations, we attribute these chiral misinterpretations to the sinusoidal modulation mechanism of the contrast transfer functionthat correlates with both defocus values and skyrmion dimensions. Our findings establish quantitative limitations of conventional Fresnel contrast analysis for ultrasmall skyrmions while revealing fundamental insights into defocus-mediated phase-to-intensity conversion processes in nanoscale magnetic imaging.

Current-controlled creations, deletions, and topological transformations of a single magnetic antiskyrmion in nanostructured cells

Topological magnetic solitons have emerged as promising candidates for information carriers in spintronic devices, thanks to their fascinating electromagnetic properties. For fundamental device applications, the ability to electrically manipulate individual solitons is crucial. However, electrical manipulation of single antiskyrmions has been rarely demonstrated. In this work, we present current-controlled manipulations, encompassing the creation, deletion, and topological transformation of a single antiskyrmion within FeNiPdP nanostructured cells at room temperature. This nanostructure is uniquely designed with dimensions of about 400 nm in width and length, enabling the stabilization of a single antiskyrmion. By simply adjusting the density of nanosecond single-pulsed currents, we achieve the reversible creation and deletion of single antiskyrmions. Moreover, we uncover a rich variety of current-controlled topological transformations among individual antiskyrmions, skyrmions, bubbles, and ferromagnetic states. Our experimental findings are corroborated by micromagnetic simulations, highlighting the pivotal role of current-induced combined effects, such as spin transfer torque and Joule heating. Our results hold potential for advancing antiskyrmion-based device applications.

XR-VLM: Cross-Relationship Modeling with Multi-part Prompts and Visual Features for Fine-Grained Recognition

Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have demonstrated impressive performance on various visual tasks, yet they still require adaptation on downstream tasks to achieve optimal performance. Recently, various adaptation technologies have been proposed, but we observe they often underperform in fine-grained visual recognition, which requires models to capture subtle yet discriminative features to distinguish similar sub-categories. Current adaptation methods typically rely on an alignment-based prediction framework, \ie the visual feature is compared with each class prompt for similarity calculation as the final prediction, which lacks class interaction during the forward pass. Besides, learning single uni-modal feature further restricts the model's expressive capacity. Therefore, we propose a novel mechanism, XR-VLM, to discover subtle differences by modeling cross-relationships, which specifically excels in scenarios involving multiple features. Our method introduces a unified multi-part visual feature extraction module designed to seamlessly integrate with the diverse backbones inherent in VLMs. Additionally, we develop a multi-part prompt learning module to capture multi-perspective descriptions of sub-categories. To further enhance discriminative capability, we propose a cross relationship modeling pattern that combines visual feature with all class prompt features, enabling a deeper exploration of the relationships between these two modalities. Extensive experiments have been conducted on various fine-grained datasets, and the results demonstrate that our method achieves significant improvements compared to current state-of-the-art approaches. Code will be released.

Stable Neel-Twisted Skyrmion Bags in a van der Waals Magnet Fe3-xGaTe2 at Room Temperature

Magnetic skyrmion bags with diverse topological charges Q, offer prospects for future spintronic devices based on freedom of Q. While their emergence in van der Waals magnets holds the potential in developing Q-based 2D topological spintronics. However, previous room-temperature skyrmion bags necessitate special anisotropy engineering through disorder Fe intercalation, and the stable phase diagram for skyrmion bags across room temperature regions is lacking. Here, we demonstrate the observation and electrical manipulation of room temperature skyrmion bags in Fe3-xGaTe2 without specially designed Fe intercalation. Combining the pulsed currents with the assistance of magnetic fields, skyrmion bags with various topological charges are generated and annihilated. Especially double nested skyrmion bags are also discovered at room temperature. The stable temperature-field diagram of skyrmion bags has been established. We also demonstrate the electrical-controlled topological phase transformations of skyrmion bags. Our results will provide novel insights for the design of 2D skyrmion-based high-performance devices.

Magnon-bandgap controllable artificial domain wall waveguide

In this paper, a magnon-bandgap controllable artificial domain wall waveguide is proposed by means of micromagnetic simulation. By the investigation of the propagation behavior and dispersion relationship of spin waves in artificial domain wall waveguides, it is found that the nonreciprocal propagation of spin waves in the artificial domain walls are mainly affected by the local effective exchange field, and the magnon bandgap can be controlled by changing the maximum value of the effective exchange field. In addition, it is observed that the artificial domain wall waveguides are structurally more stable than the natural domain wall waveguides under the same spin wave injection conditions, and the magnon bandgap of the artificial domain wall waveguides can be adjusted by its width and magnetic anisotropy parameters. The bandgap controllable artificial domain wall scheme is beneficial to the miniaturization and integration of magnon devices and can be applied to future magnonic technology as a novel frequency filter.

Prompt-based Generative Approach towards Multi-Hierarchical Medical Dialogue State Tracking

The medical dialogue system is a promising application that can provide great convenience for patients. The dialogue state tracking (DST) module in the medical dialogue system which interprets utterances into the machine-readable structure for downstream tasks is particularly challenging. Firstly, the states need to be able to represent compound entities such as symptoms with their body part or diseases with degrees of severity to provide enough information for decision support. Secondly, these named entities in the utterance might be discontinuous and scattered across sentences and speakers. These also make it difficult to annotate a large corpus which is essential for most methods. Therefore, we first define a multi-hierarchical state structure. We annotate and publish a medical dialogue dataset in Chinese. To the best of our knowledge, there are no publicly available ones before. Then we propose a Prompt-based Generative Approach which can generate slot values with multi-hierarchies incrementally using a top-down approach. A dialogue style prompt is also supplemented to utilize the large unlabeled dialogue corpus to alleviate the data scarcity problem. The experiments show that our approach outperforms other DST methods and is rather effective in the scenario with little data.

The Role of Permanent and Induced Electrostatic Dipole Moments for Schottky Barriers in Janus MXY/Graphene Heterostructures: a First Principles Study

The Schottky barrier height ($E_{SBH}$) is a crucial factor in determining the transport properties of semiconductor materials as it directly regulates the carrier mobility in opto-electronics devices. In principle, van der Waals (vdW) Janus heterostructures offer an appealing avenue to controlling the ESBH. However, the underlying atomistic mechanisms are far from understood conclusively, which prompts for further research in the topic. To this end, here, we carry out an extensive first principles study of the electronic properties and $E_{SBH}$ of several vdW Janus MXY/Graphene (M=Mo, W; X, Y=S, Se, Te) heterostructures. The results of the simulations show that by changing the composition and geometry of the heterostructure's interface, it is possible to control its electrical contact, thence electron transport properties, from Ohmic to Schottky with nearly one order of magnitude variations in the $E_{SBH}$. Detailed analysis of the simulations enables rationalization of this highly attractive property on the basis of the interplay between the permanent dipole moment of the Janus MXY sheet and the induced one due to interfacial charge redistribution at the MXY/Gr interface. Such an interplay is shown to be highly effective in altering the electrostatic potential difference across the vdW Janus heterostructure, determining its ESBH, thence Schottky (Ohmic) contact type. These computational findings contribute guidelines to control electrical contacts in Janus heterostructures towards rational design of electrical contacts in nanoscale devices.

Fine-tuning BERT for Joint Entity and Relation Extraction in Chinese Medical Text

Entity and relation extraction is the necessary step in structuring medical text. However, the feature extraction ability of the bidirectional long short term memory network in the existing model does not achieve the best effect. At the same time, the language model has achieved excellent results in more and more natural language processing tasks. In this paper, we present a focused attention model for the joint entity and relation extraction task. Our model integrates well-known BERT language model into joint learning through dynamic range attention mechanism, thus improving the feature representation ability of shared parameter layer. Experimental results on coronary angiography texts collected from Shuguang Hospital show that the F1-score of named entity recognition and relation classification tasks reach 96.89% and 88.51%, which are better than state-of-the-art methods 1.65% and 1.22%, respectively.

Enriching Medcial Terminology Knowledge Bases via Pre-trained Language Model and Graph Convolutional Network

Enriching existing medical terminology knowledge bases (KBs) is an important and never-ending work for clinical research because new terminology alias may be continually added and standard terminologies may be newly renamed. In this paper, we propose a novel automatic terminology enriching approach to supplement a set of terminologies to KBs. Specifically, terminology and entity characters are first fed into pre-trained language model to obtain semantic embedding. The pre-trained model is used again to initialize the terminology and entity representations, then they are further embedded through graph convolutional network to gain structure embedding. Afterwards, both semantic and structure embeddings are combined to measure the relevancy between the terminology and the entity. Finally, the optimal alignment is achieved based on the order of relevancy between the terminology and all the entities in the KB. Experimental results on clinical indicator terminology KB, collected from 38 top-class hospitals of Shanghai Hospital Development Center, show that our proposed approach outperforms baseline methods and can effectively enrich the KB.

Discovery of room temperature ferromagnetism in metal-free organic semiconductors

Creating magnetic semiconductors that work at warm circumstance is still a great challenge in the physical sciences. Here, we report the discovery of ferromagnetism in the metal-free perylene diimide semiconductor, whose Curie temperature is higher than 400 Kelvin. A solvothermal approach is used to reduce and dissolve the rigid-backbone perylene diimide crystallites, and radical anion aggregates were fabricated by the subsequent self-assembly and oxidation process. Magnetic measurements exhibit the ferromagnetic ordering with the saturated magnetization of 0.48 $μ_{\rm B}$ per molecule and the appreciable magnetic anisotropy. X-ray magnetic circular dichroism spectra suggest the ferromagnetism stems from $π$ orbitals of radicals. Our findings unambitiously demonstrate the long-range ferromagnetic ordering can survive at room temperature in organic semiconductors, although which are intuitively regarded to be nonmagnetic.

Periodic solutions for neutral evolution equations with delays

The aim is to study the periodic solution problem for neutral evolution equation $$(u(t)-G(t,u(t-ξ)))'+Au(t)=F(t,u(t),u(t-τ)),\ \ \ \ t\in\R$$in Banach space $X$, where $A:D(A)\subset X\rightarrow X$ is a closed linear operator, and $-A$ generates a compact analytic operator semigroup $T(t)(t\geq0)$. With the aid of the analytic operator semigroup theories and some fixed point theorems, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of periodic mild solution for neutral evolution equations. The regularity of periodic mild solution for evolution equation with delay is studied, and some the existence results of the classical and strong solutions are obtained. In the end, we give an example to illustrate the applicability of abstract results. Our works greatly improve and generalize the relevant results of existing literatures.
