We study local splitting-type results for general Loday algebroids and use them to obtain a direct proof of the splitting theorem for Courant algebroids. We also discuss the linearization problem and establish a general linearization principle using Euler-like derivations.
We compute the Poisson cohomology of the linear Poisson structure dual to the n-dimensional "book" Lie algebra, defined by [e_0,e_i]=e_i, [e_i,e_j]=0, for i,j=1,...,n-1.
Given a manifold M with a submanifold N, the deformation space D(M,N) is a manifold with a submersion to R whose zero fiber is the normal bundle, and all other fibers are equal to M. This article uses deformation spaces to study the local behavior of various geometric structures associated with singular foliations, with N a submanifold transverse to the foliation. New examples include L_\infty-algebroids, Courant algebroids, and Lie bialgebroids. In each case, we obtain a normal form theorem around N, in terms of a model structure over the normal bundle.
According to the Weinstein splitting theorem, any Poisson manifold is locally, near any given point, a product of a symplectic manifold with another Poisson manifold whose Poisson structure vanishes at the point. Similar splitting results are known e.g. for Lie algebroids, Dirac structures and generalized complex structures. In this paper, we develop a novel approach towards these results that leads to various generalizations, including their equivariant versions as well as their formulations in new contexts.
