A note on "MLE in logistic regression with a diverging dimension"

This short note is to point the reader to notice that the proof of high dimensional asymptotic normality of MLE estimator for logistic regression under the regime $p_n=o(n)$ given in paper: "Maximum likelihood estimation in logistic regression models with a diverging number of covariates. Electronic Journal of Statistics, 6, 1838-1846." is wrong.

A characterization of signed discrete infinitely divisible distributions

In this article, we give some reviews concerning negative probabilities model and quasi-infinitely divisible at the beginning. We next extend Feller's characterization of discrete infinitely divisible distributions to signed discrete infinitely divisible distributions, which are discrete pseudo compound Poisson (DPCP) distributions with connections to the Lévy-Wiener theorem. This is a special case of an open problem which is proposed by Sato(2014), Chaumont and Yor(2012). An analogous result involving characteristic functions is shown for signed integer-valued infinitely divisible distributions. We show that many distributions are DPCP by the non-zero p.g.f. property, such as the mixed Poisson distribution and fractional Poisson process. DPCP has some bizarre properties, and one is that the parameter $λ$ in the DPCP class cannot be arbitrarily small.

Characterizations and Infinite Divisibility of Extended COM-Poisson Distribution

This article provides some characterizations of extended COM-Poisson distribution: conditional distribution given the sum, functional operator characterization (Stein identity). We also give some conditions such that the extended COM-Poisson distribution is infinitely divisible, hence some subclass of extended COM-Poisson distributions are discrete compound Poisson distribution.

Some Properties of the Generalized Stuttering Poisson Distribution and its Applications

Based on the probability generating function of stuttering Poisson distribution (SPD), this paper considers some equivalent propositions of SPD. From this, we show that some distributions in the application of non-life insurance actuarial science are SPD, such as negative binomial distribution, compound Poisson distribution etc.. By weakening condition of equivalent propositions of SPD, we define the generalized SPD. We consider cumulant estimation of generalized SPD's parameters. As an application, we use SPD with four parameters (4-th SPD) to fit auto insurance claim data. The fitting results show that 4-th SPD is more accurate than negative binomial and Poisson distribution.

AC loss calculation for multi pancakes of (Re)BCO coated conductor using line front

We aim to demonstrate an efficient method to calculate the AC losses in multi-pancake coils. This method extends Yuan front-track model into several pancake application and investigates the detail parameters in comparison with established H-formula implemented in COMSOL and minimization of energy method. We use the front-track idea to analyze stacked pancakes assuming the current fronts are straight lines and using the critical state model. The current distribution is solved by two means: minimization of the perpendicular magnetic field in the subcritical region, as Clem and Yuan proposed; minimization of total magnetic energy. We also investigate the impacts of applied current and different gaps between multi pancakes on loss calculation. Our model provides a fast calculation method of AC loss in stacked (Re)BCO pancakes and is useful to HTS applications in high field magnets, energy storage devices and electric machines.
