TeleCom-Bench: How Far Are Large Language Models from Industrial Telecommunication Applications?

While Large Language Models have achieved remarkable integration in various vertical scenarios, their deployment in the telecommunications domain remains exploratory due to the lack of a standardized evaluation framework. Current telecom benchmarks primarily focus on static, foundational knowledge and isolated atomic skills, neglecting the equipment-specific documentation and end-to-end industrial workflows essential for real-world production systems. To bridge this gap, we present TeleCom-Bench, a comprehensive benchmark comprising 12 evaluation sets with 22,678 curated samples, which evaluates LLMs across a synergistic hierarchy: (1) Multi-dimensional Knowledge Comprehension, which integrates telecommunication fundamentals, 3GPP protocols, and 5G network architecture with proprietary product knowledge across wired, core, and wireless networks via knowledge graph-driven synthesis; and (2)End-to-End Knowledge Application, which formalizes six core tasks on authentic trajectories from live network agent workflows, including intent recognition, entity extraction, event verification, tool invocation, root cause analysis, and solution generation-across network optimization and fault maintenance scenarios. Evaluations of eight state-of-the-art LLMs reveal a universal Execution Wall: while models achieve 90% accuracy in linguistic interface tasks such as intent recognition and entity extraction, performance collapses to approximately 30% in procedural execution tasks like solution generation. This capability gap demonstrates that current LLMs function competently as diagnosticians but fail as field engineers. TeleCom-Bench provides standardized diagnostics to precisely pinpoint this deficit, offering actionable guidance for domain-specific alignment toward production-ready telecom agents. The dataset and evaluation code have been released at https://github.com/ZTE-AICloud/TeleCom-Bench.

Extended Rota-Baxter algebras, diagonally colored Delannoy paths and Hopf algebras

The Rota-Baxter operator and the modified Rota-Baxter operator on various algebras are both important in mathematics and mathematical physics. The former is originated from the integration-by-parts formula and probability with applications to the renormalization of quantum field theory and the classical Yang-Baxter equation. The latter originated from Hilbert transformations with applications to ergodic theory and the modified Yang-Baxter equation. Their merged form, called the extended Rota-Baxter operators, has also found interesting applications recently. This paper presents a systematic study of the extended Rota-Baxter operator. We show that while extended Rota-Baxter operators have properties similar to Rota-Baxter operators; they provide a linear structure that unifies Rota-Baxter operators and modified Rota-Baxter operators. Examples of extended Rota-Baxter operators are also given, especially from polynomials and Laurent series due to their importance in ($q$-)integration and the renormalization in quantum field theory. We then construct free commutative extended Rota-Baxter operators by a generalization of the quasi-shuffle product. The multiplication of the initial object in the category of commutative extended Rota-Baxter operators allows a combinatorial interpretation in terms of a color-enrichment of Delannoy paths. Applying its universal property, we equip a free commutative extended Rota-Baxter operators with a coproduct which has a cocycle condition, yielding a bialgebraic structure. We then show that this bialgebra on a free extended Rota-Baxter operators possesses an increasing filtration and a connectedness property, culminating at a Hopf algebraic structure on a free commutative extended Rota-Baxter operator.

Construction of free quasi-idempotent differential Rota-Baxter algebras by Gröbner-Shirshov bases

Differential operators and integral operators are linked together by the first fundamental theorem of calculus. Based on this principle, the notion of a differential Rota-Baxter algebra was proposed by Guo and Keigher from an algebraic abstraction point of view. Recently, the subject has attracted more attention since it is associated with many areas in mathematics, such as integro-differential algebras. This paper considers differential algebras, Rota-Baxter algebras and differential Rota-Baxter algebras in the quasi-idempotent operator context. We establish a Gröbner-Shirshov basis for free commutative quasi-idempotent differential algebras (resp. Rota-Baxter algebras, resp. differential Rota-Baxter algebras). This provides a linear basis of free object in each of the three corresponding categories by Composition-Diamond lemma.
