Angular-resolved nonlinear optical response as a probe of Lorentz violation in noncentrosymmetric materials

We propose a methodology to detect weak Lorentz-violating (LV) backgrounds through the nonlinear shift photocurrent in noncentrosymmetric crystals. Using a spinful Rice--Mele model, we show that a LV background induces a momentum-odd correction to the Bloch Hamiltonian that reshapes the phase of the interband dipole matrix elements. As a result, the shift conductivity develops a robust $π$-periodic modulation as a function of the angle of a perpendicularly applied static electric field, in contrast to a weakly $2π$-periodic response of the Lorentz-symmetric case. This change in angular periodicity provides a signature of LV effects which can be directly identified through a photocurrent measurement. For realistic optical intensities, the predicted signal lies in the picoampere range, which can be enhanced in a matrix of weakly interacting chains, allowing sensitivity to LV coupling strengths of the order of $ξ\sim10^{-24}\,\mathrm{C\,m}$. These results establish nonlinear optical transport as a viable probe of emergent LV effects in solid-state systems.

Geometrical optical activity induced by a continuous distribution of screw dislocations

We study light propagation in a medium with uniform torsion, modeled as a continuum of screw dislocations within the geometric theory of defects. By solving Maxwell's equations in covariant form, we show that torsion induces intrinsic chirality and circular birefringence: right- and left-circular polarizations acquire different wavenumbers, leading to a purely geometric optical activity. The polarization plane of a linearly polarized beam rotates according to the simple law $Δθ= ΩρL$, linear in the dislocation density $Ω$, propagation length $L$, and transverse coordinate $ρ$. This can be recast as an effective birefringence $Δn = 2cΩρ/ω$, providing geometric design rules for torsion-induced rotatory power. Using parameters from dislocated semiconductors, we obtain millidegree rotations over millimetre-scale paths, within reach of modern polarimetric techniques and amenable to enhancement in metamaterial platforms. We also show that the same spiral geometry implements a broadband geometric phase gate for polarization qubits and has an electronic analogue on the surface of cylindrical topological insulators, where torsion shears the Dirac cone, establishing a unified geometric link between torsion, optical activity, and topological electronic responses.

Rotation effect for chiral magnetic cosmic string in the Kaluza-Klein theory

We have investigated bound state solutions for a scalar particle described in the spacetime of a chiral cosmic string subjected to rotational effects in a Kaluza-Klein theory. We saw that combinations between the parameters that describe the generalized spacetime impose upper and lower limits for the radial coordinate leading to well-established boundary conditions.

Black hole lensing in Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes

We have derived analytical solutions using Jacobi elliptic functions for bound and nearly bound photon orbits in Kerr-de Sitter (KdS) and Kerr-de Sitter Revisited (RKdS) spacetimes. Leveraging our obtained solutions, we have conducted an analytic ray-tracing in both spacetimes. We have obtained direct images, lensing rings and photon rings for equatorial disks considering inclined locally static observers. Images corresponding to n=(2,3) exhibit a significantly closer resemblance to the critical curve as compared to the n=1 image. This highlights the remarkable potential of these higher-order images as robust testing grounds for General Relativity (GR). Furthermore in both spacetimes, we have obtained analytical solutions for the critical parameters governing the structure of the photon ring and analyzed these parameters in details.

Remarks on the black hole shadows in Kerr-de Sitter space times

This work is geared towards analysis of shadows cast by Kerr-de Sitter (KdS) and Kerr-de Sitter Revisited (RKdS) black holes. Considering observers in the vicinity of the static radius, we derive the impact parameters defining the apparent positions of the shadows. Such observers are of interest to our work because embedding diagrams have shown that de Sitter space-time is analogous to an asymptotically flat one in the vicinity of the static radius. We also perform a comparative analysis between our result with that in Ref.[1]. Furthermore, we numerically obtain the radii of curvature, vertical diameters and horizontal diameters of the shadows. We find that for $Λ=1.11\times 10^{-52} m^{-2}$, M87* observations cannot distinguish a RKdS black hole shadow from that of a Kerr black hole. Additionally, for the same value of $Λ$, KdS and RKdS black hole shadows are identical. Previously, it has also been shown that when $Λ=1.11\times 10^{-52} m^{-2}$, KdS and Kerr black hole shadows are indistinguishable. Utilizing the 2017 EHT observations of M87* on the allowed range of the characteristic radius of the shadow, we obtain constraints on both black holes. When, a/M>0.812311, we observe that large angles of inclination ($θ>30.5107^{\circ}$) do not pass the constraints for both KdS and RKdS black holes.

A massive scalar field under the effects of the Lorentz symmetry violation by a CPT-odd non-minimal coupling

In this paper, based on the Standard Model Extended gauge sector, we made a non-minimal coupling in the Klein-Gordon equation which characterizes the Lorentz symmetry violation and, through this nonminimal CPT-odd coupling, we investigate the effects of possible scenarios of Lorentz symmetry violation by electrical and magnetic field configurations on a massive scalar field in this background, where, analytically, we determine solutions of bound states.

A central potential with a massive scalar field in a Lorentz symmetry violation environment

We investigate the behaviour of a massive scalar field under the influence of a Coulomb-type and central linear central potentials inserted in the Klein-Gordon equation by modifying the mass term in the spacetime with Lorentz symmetry violation. We consider the presence of a background constant vector field which characterizes the breaking of the Lorentz symmetry and show that analytical solutions to the Klein-Gordon equation can be achieved.

Non-orthogonality and $κ$-dependence eccentricity of polarized electromagnetic waves in CPT-even Lorentz violation

We discuss the modified Maxwell action of a $K_{F}$-type Lorentz symmetry breaking theory and present a solution of Maxwell equations derived in the cases of linear and elliptically polarized electromagnetic waves in the vacuum of CPT-even Lorentz violation. We show in this case the Lorentz violation has the effect of changing the amplitude of one component of the magnetic field, while leaving the electric field unchanged, leading to non-orthogonal propagation of eletromagnetic fields and dependence of the eccentricity on $κ$-term. Further, we exhibit numerically the consequences of this effect in the cases of linear and elliptical polarization, in particular, the regimes of non-orthogonality of the electromagnetic wave fields and the eccentricity of the elliptical polarization of the magnetic field with dependence on the $κ$-term.

Physical Properties of the Spin Hamiltonian on Honeycomb Lattice Samples with Kekulé and Vacuum Polarization Corrections

Magnetic and thermodynamical properties of a system of spins in a honeycomb lattice, such as magnetization, magnetic susceptibility and specific heat, in a low-temperature regime are investigated by considering the effects of a Kekulé scalar exchange and QED vacuum polarization corrections to the interparticle potential. The spin lattice calculations are carried out by means of Monte Carlo simulations. We present a number of comparative plots of all the physical quantities we have considered and a detailed analysis is presented to illustrate the main features and the variation profiles of the properties with the applied external magnetic field and temperature.

Black hole qubit correspondence from quantum circuits

We consider the black hole qubit correspondence (BHQC) from quantum circuits, taking into account the use of gate operations with base in the formulation of wrapped brane qubits. We interpret these quantum circuits with base on the BHQC classification of entanglement classes and apply in specific examples as the generation of Bell, GHZ states, quantum circuit teleportation and consider the implementation of interchanges in SUSY, black hole configurations, Freudenthal and rank system constructions. These results are discussed from the superstring viewpoint showing that the importance of the construction of the physical states formed by the entanglement of geometrical entities by cohomological operations automatically allows the preservation of different amounts of SUSY in the compactification process given an alternative to the case when fluxes are introduced in the game: the generalized Calabi-Yau of Hitchin.

On the influence of a Coulomb-like potential induced by the Lorentz symmetry breaking effects on the Harmonic Oscillator

In this work, we obtain bound states for a nonrelativistic spin-half neutral particle under the influence of a Coulomb-like potential induced by the Lorentz symmetry breaking effects. We present a new possible scenario of studying the Lorentz symmetry breaking effects on a nonrelativistic quantum system defined by a fixed space-like vector field parallel to the radial direction interacting with a uniform magnetic field along the z-axis. Furthermore, we also discuss the influence of a Coulomb-like potential induced by Lorentz symmetry violation effects on the two-dimensional harmonic oscillator.

Diamagnetic critical singularity in unconventional ferromagnetic superconductors

The scaling properties of the free energy, the diamagnetic moment, and the diamagnetic susceptibility above the phase transition from the ferromagnetic phase to the phase of coexistence of ferromagnetic order and superconductivity in unconventional ferromagnetic superconductors with spin-triplet (p-wave) electron paring are considered. The crossover from weak to strong magnetic induction is described for both quasi-2D (thin films) and 3D (bulk) superconductors. The singularities of diamagnetic moment and diamagnetic susceptibility are dumped for large variations of the pressure and, hence, such singularities could hardly be observed in experiments. The results are obtained within Gaussian approximation on the basis of general theory of ferromagnetic superconductors with p-wave electron pairing.
