Predicting the Masses of Exotic Hadrons with Data Augmentation Using Multilayer Perceptron

Recently, there have been significant developments in neural networks, which led to the frequent use of neural networks in the physics literature. This work is focused on predicting the masses of exotic hadrons, doubly charmed and bottomed baryons using neural networks trained on meson and baryon masses that are determined by experiments. The original data set has been extended using the recently proposed artificial data augmentation methods. We have observed that the neural network's predictive ability increases with the use of augmented data. The results indicated that data augmentation techniques play an essential role in improving neural network predictions; moreover, neural networks can make reasonable predictions for exotic hadrons, doubly charmed, and doubly bottomed baryons. The results are also comparable to Gaussian Process and Constituent Quark Model.

$Λ_c \to Λ$ Form Factors in Lattice QCD

Studying the semileptonic decays of charmed particles is prominent in testing the standard model of particle physics. Motivated by recent experimental progress in weak decays of the charm baryon sector, we study the form factors of $Λ_c \to Λ\ell^+ ν$ transition on two flavor lattices. We compute two- and three-point functions, extract the dimensionless projected correlators, and combine them to form the Weinberg form factors. In the zero transferred momentum limit $f_1$, $f_2$ and $g_1$ form factors are found to be in agreement with other models, furthermore $f_3$ and $g_3$ form factors are comparable to model determinations. The $g_2$ form factor, on the other hand, is found to be mildly larger. We also evaluate the helicity form factors, which is consistent with the previous lattice studies.

Charmed baryon spectrum from lattice QCD near the physical point

We calculate the low-lying spectrum of charmed baryons in lattice QCD on the $32^3\times64$, $N_f=2+1$ PACS-CS gauge configurations at the almost physical pion mass of $\sim 156$ MeV/c$^2$. By employing a set of interpolating operators with different Dirac structures and quark-field smearings for the variational analysis, we extract the ground and first few excited states of the spin-$1/2$ and spin-$3/2$, singly-, doubly-, and triply-charmed baryons. Additionally, we study the $Ξ_c$-$Ξ_c^\prime$ mixing and the operator dependence of the excited states in a variational approach. We identify several states that lie close to the experimentally observed excited states of the $Σ_c$, $Ξ_c$ and $Ω_c$ baryons, including some of the $Ξ_c$ states recently reported by LHCb. Our results for the doubly- and triply-charmed baryons are suggestive for future experiments.
