On the electrodynamics in time-dependent linear media

In this work we study the classical electrodynamics in homogeneous conducting and nonconducting time-dependent linear media in the absence of charge sources. Surprisingly, we find that the time dependence of the permittivity gives rise to an additional term in the Ampere-Maxwell equation and an asymmetry between the electric and magnetic field wave equations. As special cases we consider a linear and an exponential growth of the permittivity, as well as a sinusoidal time-dependent permittivity.

Quantum states of a generalized time-dependent inverted harmonic oscillator

We discuss the extension of the Lewis and Riesenfeld method of solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation to cases where the invariant has continuous eigenvalues and apply it to the case of a generalized time-dependent inverted harmonic oscillator. As a special case, we consider a generalized inverted oscillator with constant frequency and exponentially increasing mass.

Schrödinger Wave Function for a Free Falling Particle in the Schwarzschild Black Hole

We use the time-dependent invariant method in a geometric approach (Jacobi fields) to quantize the motion of a free falling point particle in the Schwarzschild black hole. Assuming that the particle comes from infinity, we obtain the relativistic Schrödinger wave function for this system.
