Tensor analyzing power $T_{20}$ in the reaction $\gamma \vec{d}\to pn$ at photon energies 350-680 MeV

We present measurements of the tensor analyzing power $T_{20}$ in the reaction $\gamma {d}\to pn$ at photon energies $E_\gamma = 350$-$680$~MeV. The experiment was performed at the VEPP-3 storage ring using an internal tensor-polarized deuterium gas target and a tagged quasi-real photon beam. The data were obtained for proton emission angles $\Theta_p = 70^\circ$-$102^\circ$. Comparison with modern meson-baryon calculations shows generally satisfactory agreement within the present uncertainties. A theoretical analysis of an extended data set, covering the energy range from threshold to 680~MeV and including both the new data and the previous results from 2007, is presented.

Evidence of the $e^+ e^-\to f_1(1285)$ reaction with the CMD-3 detector at VEPP-2000

A search for the $e^+ e^-\to f_1(1285)$ reaction is performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider. Data from a scan in the center-of-mass energy range Ec.m.=1.20--1.36 GeV with 109.1 pb$^{-1}$ of the integrated luminosity is used. A dedicated 51.7 pb$^{-1}$ have been collected at the $f_1(1285)$ resonance peak energy Ec.m.=1282 MeV, where $26.5 \pm 7.4$ events have been found in the $e^+ e^-\to\eta\pi^0\pi^0$ reaction. No indication of the signal is observed in the scan data. We interpret the result as 4.5$\sigma$ evidence of the C-even resonance production in the $e^+ e^-\to f_1(1285)\to\eta\pi^0\pi^0$ reaction via the two-photon interaction. The production cross section is found to be $\sigma(e^+ e^-\to f_1) = 0.074 \pm 0.021 \pm 0.010$ nb, and the corresponding branching fraction to the $e^+ e^-$ pair is $B(f_1(1285)\to e^+e^-) = (8.3 \pm 2.3 \pm 1.1)\times 10^{-9}$.

Study of the proccess $e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0\pi^0\eta$ in the c.m. energy range 1.6--2.0 GeV with the CMD-3 detector

The cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0\pi^0\eta$ has been measured using a data sample with the integrated luminosity of 372 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. 6300$\pm$145 signal events have been selected in the center-of-mass energy range 1.6--2.0 GeV. The total systematic uncertainty of the cross section is about 10\%. The production dynamics is dominated by the $\omega(782)\pi^0\eta$ final state with a possible small contribution of the $a_0(980)$ resonance in the $\pi^0\eta$ combination. We also observe a presence of the $\rho(770)^{\pm}$ resonance signal in the $\pi^{\pm}\pi^0$ invariant mass distribution.

Neutral kaon mass measurement with the CMD-3 derector at VEPP-2000

Using more than 600 thousand $K_{S}^{0}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ decays from the $e^{+}e^{-}\to\phi(1020)\to K_{S}^{0}K_{L}^{0}$ reaction, the neutral kaon mass has been measured with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider. Using the beam energies control by the back-scattering laser light photons, and a calibration to the world average $\phi$-meson mass, the neutral kaon mass is determind to be m($K^0$) = 497.587 $\pm$ 0.004(stat.) $\pm$ 0.008(syst.) $\pm$ 0.009(calibr.) \mevcc, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is the uncertainty from the energy calibration.

Measurement of the $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$ cross section from threshold to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$ has been measured in the center of mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on a full dataset collected below 1 GeV during three data taking seasons, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 62 pb$^{-1}$. In the dominant $ρ$-resonance region, a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% has been reached. At energies around $ϕ$-resonance the $π^+π^-$ production cross section was measured for the first time with high beam energy resolution. The forward-backward charge asymmetry in the $π^+π^-$ production has also been measured. It shows a strong deviation from the theoretical prediction based on the conventional scalar quantum electrodynamics framework, and it is in good agreement with the generalized vector-meson-dominance and dispersive-based predictions. The impact of the presented results on the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of muon is discussed.

Measurement of the pion form factor with CMD-3 detector and its implication to the hadronic contribution to muon (g-2)

The cross section of the process $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-$ has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb$^{-1}$, of which 62 pb$^{-1}$ represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the $ρ$ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed.

Charged particle identification with the liquid xenon calorimeter of the CMD-3 detector

The paper describes a method of the charged particle identification, developed for the \mbox{CMD-3} detector, installed at the VEPP-2000 $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. The method is based on the application of the boosted decision trees classifiers, trained for the optimal separation of electrons, muons, pions and kaons in the momentum range from 100 to $1200~{\rm MeV}/c$. The input variables for the classifiers are linear combinations of the energy depositions of charged particles in 12 layers of the liquid xenon calorimeter of the \mbox{CMD-3}. The event samples for training of the classifiers are taken from the simulation. Various issues of the detector response tuning in simulation and calibration of the calorimeter strip channels are considered. Application of the method is illustrated by the examples of separation of the $e^+e^-(γ)$ and $π^+π^-(γ)$ final states and of selection of the $K^+K^-$ final state at high energies.

Measurement of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}$ cross section with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

The cross section of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}$ is measured using the data collected with the CMD-$3$ detector at the VEPP-$2000$ collider in the center-of-mass energy range from $1.1$ to $2.0$ GeV. The decay mode $η\rightarrowγγ$ is used for $η$ meson reconstruction in the data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $78.3$ pb$^{-1}$. The energy dependence of the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}$ cross section is fitted within the framework of vector meson dominance in order to extract the $Γ(ρ(1450)\rightarrow{^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(ρ(1450)\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-})$ and the $Γ(ρ(1700)\rightarrow{e^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(ρ(1700)\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-})$ products. Based on conservation of vector current, the analysed data are used to test the relationship between the $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}$ cross section and the spectral function in $τ^-\rightarrowηπ^-π^0ν_τ$ decay. The $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}$ cross section measured with the CMD-$3$ detector is in good agreement with the previous measurements.

Study of the process $e^+e^-{\to}K^+K^-η$ with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

The process $e^+e^-{\to}K^+K^-η$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.59 to 2.007\,GeV using the data sample of 59.5 pb$^{-1}$, collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider in 2011, 2012 and 2017. The $K^+K^-η$ final state is found to be dominated by the contribution of the $ϕ(1020)η$ intermediate state. The cross section of the process $e^+e^-{\to}ϕ(1020)η$ has been measured with a systematic uncertainty of 5.1$\%$ on the base of 3009 $\pm$ 67 selected events. The obtained cross section has been used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon: $a_μ^{ϕη}(E<1.8\, {\rm GeV})=(0.321 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.016_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$, $a_μ^{ϕη}(E<2.0\, {\rm GeV})=(0.440 \pm 0.015_{\rm stat} \pm 0.022_{\rm syst}) \times 10^{-10}$. From the cross section approximation the $ϕ(1680)$ meson parameters have been determined with better statistical precision, than in previous studies.

Study of the process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ in the center-of-mass energy range 1010--1060~MeV with the CMD-3 detector

The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ has been studied using $1.7 \times 10^6$ events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 1010--1060 MeV. The cross section measured with an about 2\% systematic uncertainty and it is used to calculate the contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon $a_μ^{K^+K^-} = (19.33 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-10}$, and to obtain the $ϕ(1020)$ meson parameters. We consider the relationship between the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ and $e^+e^- \to K^0_SK^0_L$ cross sections and compare it to the theoretical expectations.

Study of the Process $e^+e^-\to π^+π^-π^+π^-$ IN THE C.M. Energy Range 920--1060 MeV with the CMD-3 Detector

A cross section of the process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$ has been measured using 6798$\pm$93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 920--1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits an interference pattern of the $ϕ(1020)\to\pipi\pipi$ decay with a non-resonant process $e^+e^- \to \pipi\pipi$, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): $\BR(ϕ\to\pipi\pipi) = (6.5\pm2.7\pm1.6)\times 10^{-6}$.

Study of the process $e^+e^-\to p\bar{p}$ in the c.m. energy range from threshold to 2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector

Using a data sample of 6.8 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider we select about 2700 events of the $e^+e^- \to p\bar{p}$ process and measure its cross section at 12 energy ponts with about 6\% systematic uncertainty. From the angular distribution of produced nucleons we obtain the ratio $|G_{E}/G_{M}| = 1.49 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.30$.

Measurement of the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^-$ cross section with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^-$ has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^-$ cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of $K^+K^-π^+π^-$ production dynamics has been performed.

Search for the process $e^+e^-\to η^\prime(958)$ with the CMD-3 detector

A search for the process $\epem\to η^\prime(958)$ in the $\pipiη\to\pipiγγ$ final state has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 $e^+e^-$ collider. Using an integrated luminosity of 2.69 pb$^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy \Ecm = 957.68 MeV we set an upper limit for the product of electronic width and branching fractions $Γ_{η^\prime(958)\to\epem}\cdot\BR_{η^\prime(958)\to\pipiη}\cdot\BR_{η\toγγ}<0.00041$ eV at 90\% C.L.

Measurement of $ϕ$(1020) meson leptonic width with CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M Collider

The $ϕ$(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance ($ϕ\to K^+ K^-,K^0_LK^0_S,π^+π^-π^0,ηγ$) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M $e^+e^-$ collider. The following value has been obtained: $Γ(ϕ\to e^+e^-) = 1.235\pm 0.006\pm 0.022$ keV. The $ϕ(1020)$ meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: $B(ϕ\to K^+K^-) = 0.493\pm 0.003\pm 0.007$, $B(ϕ\to K_LK_S) = 0.336\pm 0.002\pm 0.006$, $B(ϕ\toπ^+π^-π^0) = 0.155\pm 0.002\pm 0.005$, $B(ϕ\toηγ) = 0.0138\pm 0.0002\pm 0.0002$.

Measurement of e+e- -> phi -> K+K- cross section with the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M Collider

The process e+ e- -> phi -> K+ K- has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross section is estimated to be 2.2%. The phi(1020) meson parameters in the phi -> K+K- decay channel have been measured: sigma_0(phi-> K+K-) = 2016 +- 8 +- 44 nb, m(phi) = 1019.441 +- 0.008 +- 0.080 MeV/c2, Gamma(phi) = 4.24 +- 0.02 +- 0.03 MeV, B(e+e-)B(K+K-) = (14.27 +- 0.05 +- 0.31)*10(-5).
