Resonance Contributions to $η$ Photoproduction on Protons Found Using Dispersion Relations and an Isobar Model

The contributions of the resonances $D_{13}(1520)$, $S_{11}(1535)$, $S_{11}(1650)$, $D_{15}(1675)$, $F_{15}(1680)$, $D_{13}(1700)$, $P_{11}(1710)$, $P_{13}(1720)$ to $γp\to ηp$ are found from the data on cross sections, beam and target asymmetries using two approaches: fixed-t dispersion relations and an isobar model. Utilization of the two approaches and comparison of the results obtained with different parametrizations of the resonance contributions allowed us to make conclusions about the model-dependence of these contributions. We conclude that the results for the contributions of the resonances $D_{13}(1520)$, $S_{11}(1535)$, $F_{15}(1680)$ to corresponding multipole amplitudes are stable. With this the results for $D_{13}(1520)$ and $F_{15}(1680)$, combined with their PDG photoexcitation helicity amplitudes, allowed us to find the branching ratios $Br (D_{13}(1520)\to ηN)=0.05\pm 0.02%$, $Br (F_{15}(1680)\to ηN)=0.16\pm0.04%$ which have significantly better accuracy than the PDG data. The total Breit-Wigner width of the $S_{11}(1535)$ is model-dependent, we have obtained $Γ(S_{11}(1520))=142 MeV$ and $195 MeV$ using dispersion relations and the isobar model, respectively. The results for the $S_{11}(1650)$, $D_{15}(1675)$, $P_{11}(1710)$, $P_{13}(1720)$ are model dependent, only the signs and orders of magnitude of their contributions to multipole amplitudes are determined. The results for the $D_{13}(1700)$ are strongly model-dependent.

Q^2-evolution of Delta N gamma form factors up to 4 (GeV/c)^2 from JLab data

We present the results on the ratios $E_{1+}^{(3/2)}/M_{1+}^{(3/2)}$ and $S_{1+}^{(3/2)}/M_{1+}^{(3/2)}$ for the $γ^* N \to Δ(1232)$ transition at $Q^2\leq 4 (GeV/c)^2$ extracted from the $p(e,e'p)π^0$ cross section using two approaches: dispersion relations and modified version of unitary isobar model. The obtained results are in good agreement with the results of other analyses obtained using truncated multipole expansion at $Q^2=0.4,~0.525,~0.65,~0.75,~0.9,~1.15,~1.45,~1.8 (GeV/c)^2 $ and within dynamical and unitary isobar models at $Q^2=2.8,~4 (GeV/c)^2 $. According to obtained results the ratio $E_{1+}^{(3/2)}/M_{1+}^{(3/2)}$ remains small in all investigated region of $Q^2$ with very unclear tendency to cross zero above $2 (GeV/c)^2$. The absolute value of the ratio $S_{1+}^{(3/2)}/M_{1+}^{(3/2)}$ is clearly increasing with increasing $Q^2$, while it should be a constant value in the pQCD asymptotics. So, at $Q^2\leq4 (GeV/c)^2$ there is no evidence of approaching pQCD regime for these ratios. None of the soft approaches gives satisfactory description of the obtained results.

Multipole Amplitudes of Pion Photoproduction on Nucleons up to 2GeV within Dispersion Relations and Unitary Isobar Model

Two approaches for analysis of pion photo- and electroproduction on nucleons in the resonance energy region are checked at $Q^2=0$ using the results of GWU(VPI) partial-wave analysis of photoproduction data. The approaches are based on dispersion relations and unitary isobar model. Within dispersion relations good description of photoproduction multipoles is obtained up to $W=1.8 GeV$. Within unitary isobar model, modified with increasing energy by incorporation of Regge poles, and with unified Breit-Wigner parametrization of resonance contributions, good description of photoproduction multipoles is obtained up to $W=2 GeV$.

Dispersion relations and the $Δ$ contributions into the amplitudes $M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2}$ from new VPI partial-wave analysis of pion photoproduction

Within fixed-t dispersion relations the results of new VPI partial-wave analysis for the multipole amplitudes $M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2}$ are successfuly described, and the resonance and nonresonance contributions into these amplitudes are separated in correspondence with the interpretation on the language of diagram approach, dynamical models and effective Lagrangian approach. The amplitudes $A_p^{3/2}$ and $A_p^{1/2}$ corresponding to the $Δ$ contributions into $M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2}$ are obtained. They are in better agreement with quark model predictions than the amplitudes extracted without subtraction of the nonresonance contributions in $M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2}$. The obtained value of the ratio $E2/M1$ for the $γN \to P_{33}(1232)$ transition is: $E2/M1=-0.022\pm 0.004$.

The P_33(1232) resonance contribution into the amplitudes M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2},S_{1+}^{3/2} from an analysis of the p(e,e'p)π^0 data at Q^2 = 2.8, 3.2, and 4 (GeV/c)^2 within dispersion relation approach

Within the fixed-t dispersion relation approach we have analysed the TJNAF and DESY data on the exclusive p(e,e'p)π^0 reaction in order to find the P_{33}(1232) resonance contribution into the multipole amplitudes M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2},S_{1+}^{3/2}. As an input for the resonance and nonresonance contributions into these amplitudes the earlier obtained solutions of the integral equations which follow from dispersion relations are used. The obtained values of the ratio E2/M1 for the γ^* N \to P_{33}(1232) transition are: 0.039\pm 0.029, 0.121\pm 0.032, 0.04\pm 0.031 for Q^2= 2.8, 3.2, and 4 (GeV/c)^2, respectively. The comparison with the data at low Q^2 shows that there is no evidence for the presence of the visible pQCD contribution into the transition γN \to P_{33}(1232) at Q^2=3-4 GeV^2. The ratio S_{1+}^{3/2}/M_{1+}^{3/2} for the resonance parts of multipoles is: -0.049\pm 0.029, -0.099\pm 0.041, -0.085\pm 0.021 for Q^2= 2.8, 3.2, and 4 (GeV/c)^2, respectively. Our results for the transverse form factor G_T(Q^2) of the γ^* N \to P_{33}(1232) transition are lower than the values obtained from the inclusive data. With increasing Q^2, Q^4G_T(Q^2) decreases, so there is no evidence for the presence of the pQCD contribution here too.

How to extract the P_{33}(1232) resonance contributions from the amplitudes M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2},S_{1+}^{3/2} of pion electroproduction on nucleons

Within the dispersion relation approach, solutions of integral equations for the multipoles M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2},S_{1+}^{3/2} are found at 0 < Q^2 < 3 GeV^2. These solutions should be used as input for the resonance and nonresonance contributions in the analyses of pion electroproduction data in the P_{33}(1232) resonance region. It is shown that the traditional identification of the amplitude M_{1+}^{3/2} (as well of the amplitudes E_{1+}^{3/2},S_{1+}^{3/2}) with the P_{33}(1232) resonance contribution is not right; there is a contribution in these amplitudes which has a nonresonance nature and is produced by rescattering effects in the diagrams corresponding to the nucleon and pion poles. This contribution is reproduced by the dispersion relations. Taking into account nonresonance contributions in the amplitudes M_{1+}^{3/2},E_{1+}^{3/2}, the helicity amplitudes A_p^{1/2},~A_p^{3/2} and the ratio E2/M1 for the gamma N -> P_{33}(1232) transition are extracted from experiment at Q^2=0. They are in good agreement with quark model predictions.

Relativistic effects in radiative transitions of charmonia

In the framework of a relativistic quark model constructed in an infinite momentum frame, corrections of the order of $v^{2}/c^{2}$ are obtained in the formulas which express amplitudes of the transitions $ψ(ψ') \to η_{_{c}}(η'_{_{c}})γ$, $χ_{_{J}} \to ψγ$, $ψ' \to χ_{_{J}}γ$, $h_{_{c}} \to η_{_{c}}γ$, $η'_{_{c}} \to h_{_{c}}γ$ through overlap integrals $\int ϕ^{*}_{f}(q) ϕ_{i}(q) d{\bf q}$, $\int ϕ^{*}_{f}(r)r ϕ_{i}(r) d{\bf r}$. These corrections lead to a considerable suppression of $Γ(ψ\toη_{_{c}}γ)$, however, they are insufficient to remove the existing disagreement of quark model predictions with experiment. Taking into account the relativistic corrections, the ratios of overlap integrals for $χ_{_{0}} \to ψγ, χ_{_{2}} \to ψγ$ and $ψ' \to χ_{_{0}}γ, ψ' \to χ_{_{2}}γ$ transitions are extracted from experiment; the obtained results are compared with quark model predictions.

On the possibilities to study the exotic state $1^{-+}$ in the experiments on photoproduction of the $πη$, $πη'$ systems

We show that in photoproduction experiments there are propitious conditions to study the exotic state $1^{-+}$ in the $πη$ and $πη'$ channels. We show that for unpolarized photon beam the contributions with natural and unnatural parity exchanges do not interfere with each other, the fact which gives additional arguments in the estimation of the correctness of phase shift analysis. In the reaction of photoproduction of $π^+η$ system in the mass range of $a_2(1320)$ more strong limit on the upper bound of the product $Γ(1^{-+}\rightarrow πγ)\times{\rm Br}(1^{-+}\rightarrowπη)$ can be obtained than in experiments on Primakoff production on nuclei. In the photoproduction of $π^0η$ and $π^0η'$ systems there are propitious conditions to study the state $1^{-+}$ in the coherent photoproduction on nuclei, the fact which will allow to enlarge significantly the statistics and makes the phase shift analysis more simple.
