First indication on self-similarity of strangeness production in $Au+Au$ collisions at RHIC: Search for signature of phase transition in nuclear matter

New results of analysis of $K^0_S-$meson spectra measured over a wide range of energy $\sqrt {s_{NN}}=7.7-200$ GeV and centrality in $Au+Au$ collisions by the STAR Collaboration at RHIC using the $z$-scaling approach are presented. Indication on self-similarity of fractal structure of nuclei and fragmentation processes with $K^0_S$ probe is demonstrated. The energy loss as a function of the collision energy, centrality and transverse momentum of the inclusive strange meson is estimated.

Self-Similarity, Fractality and Entropy Principle in Collisions of Hadrons and Nuclei at Tevatron, RHIC and LHC

$z$-Scaling of inclusive spectra as a manifestation of self-similarity and fractality of hadron interactions is illustrated. The scaling for negative particle production in $Au+Au$ collisions from BES-I program at RHIC is demonstrated. The scaling variable $z$ depends on the momentum fractions of the colliding objects carried by the interacting constituents, and on the momentum fractions of the fragmenting objects in the scattered and recoil directions carried by the inclusive particle and its counterpart, respectively. Structures of the colliding objects and fragmentation processes in final state are expressed by fractal dimensions. Medium produced in the collisions is described by a specific heat. The scaling function $\psi(z)$ reveals energy, angular, multiplicity, and flavor independence. It has a power behavior at high $z$ (high $p_T$). Based on the entropy principle and $z$-scaling, energy loss as a function of the collision energy, centrality and transverse momentum of inclusive particle is estimated. New conservation law including fractal dimensions is found. Quantization of fractal dimensions is discussed.

Self-similarity of proton spin and z-scaling

The concept of z-scaling previously developed for analysis of inclusive reactions in proton-proton collisions is applied for description of processes with polarized particles. Hypothesis of self-similarity of the proton spin structure is discussed. The possibility of extracting information on spin-dependent fractal dimensions of hadrons and fragmentation process from the cross sections and asymmetries is justified. The double longitudinal spin asymmetry A_{LL} of jet and pi0-meson production and the coefficient of polarization transfer D_{LL} measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt s = 200 GeV at RHIC are analyzed in the framework of z-scaling. The spin-dependent fractal dimension of proton is estimated.

Self-similarity of strangeness production in pp collisions at RHIC

New experimental data on transverse momentum spectra of strange particles (KS0, K-, K*, phi,...) produced in pp collisions at sqrt s = 200 GeV obtained by the STAR and PHENIX collaborations at RHIC are analysed in the framework of z-scaling approach. Scaling properties of the data z-presentation are illustrated. Self-similarity of strange particle production is discussed. A microscopic scenario of constituent interactions developed within the z-scaling approach is used to study constituent energy loss, proton momentum fraction and recoil mass in dependence on the transverse momentum, strangeness, and mass of the inclusive particle. The obtained results can be useful for understanding strangeness origin, for searching for new physics with strange probes and can serve as a benchmark for complex analyses of self-similar features of strange production in heavy ion collisions.

On saturation of charged hadron production in pp collisions at LHC

First results on charged hadron transverse momentum spectra in pp collisions obtained by the CMS Collaboration at LHC were analyzed in z-scaling approach. The first LHC data confirm z-scaling. The saturation regime of the scaling function psi(z) observed in pp and antp-pp interactions at lower energy sqrt s = 19-1960 GeV is verified. The saturation of psi(z) for charged hadrons is found down to z=0.05 at the highest energy sqrt s = 2360 GeV reached till now at colliders. A microscopic scenario of hadron production is discussed in connection with search for new signatures of phase transitions in hadron matter. Constituent energy loss and its dependencies on the transverse momentum of charged hadrons and collision energy are estimated. The beam energy scan at LHC in the saturation region is suggested.

New properties of z-scaling: flavor independence and saturation at low z

Experimental data on inclusive cross sections of particles produced in high energy proton-(anti)proton collisions at ISR, RHIC, and Tevatron are analyzed in the framework of $z$-scaling. New features of the scaling function $ψ(z)$ are established. These are flavor independence of $ψ(z)$ including particles with heavy flavor content and saturation at low $z$. The flavor independence means that the shape of the scaling function $ψ(z)$ is the same for different hadron species. The saturation corresponds to flattening of $ψ(z)$ for $z<0.1$. Relations of model parameters used in data $z$-presentation with some thermodynamical quantities (entropy, specific heat, temperature) are discussed. It is shown that behavior of the particle spectra at low $z$ is controlled by a parameter $c$ interpreted as a specific heat of the created medium associated with production of the inclusive particle. The saturation regime of $ψ(z)$ observed at low $z$ is assumed to be preferable in searching for phase transitions of hadron matter and for study of non-perturbative QCD in high energy proton-(anti)proton collisions at U70, RHIC, Tevatron, and LHC.

z-Scaling at RHIC and Tevatron

The experimental data on inclusive cross sections of jet, direct photon and hadron production in pp/antipp and AA collisions at RHIC and Tevatron are analyzed in the framework of z-scaling. Results of analysis are compared with data obtained at ISR, SppS and Tevatron. The properties of z-presentation of experimental data are verified. Physical interpretation of the scaling function and variable z is discussed. The locality, self-similarity and fractality are argued to reflect the general structure of the colliding objects, interaction of their constituents and particle formation at small scales. The obtained results suggest that the z-scaling may be used as a tool for searching for new physics phenomena beyond Standard Model in hadron and nucleus collisions at high transverse momentum and high multiplicity at U70, RHIC, Tevatron and LHC.

Generalized z-scaling in proton-proton collisions at high energies

New generalization of z-scaling in inclusive particle production is proposed. The scaling variable z is fractal measure which depends on kinematical characteristics of the underlying sub-process expressed in terms of the momentum fractions x1 and x2 of the incoming protons. In the generalized approach, the x1 and x2 are functions of the momentum fractions ya and yb of the scattered and recoil constituents carried out by the inclusive particle and recoil object, respectively. The scaling function psi(z) for charged and identified hadrons produced in proton-proton collisions is constructed. The fractal dimensions and heat capacity of the produced medium entering definition of the z are established to obtain energy, angular and multiplicity independence of the psi(z). The scheme allows unique description of data on inclusive cross sections of charged particles, pions, kaons, antiprotons and lambdas at high energies. The obtained results are of interest to use z-scaling as a tool for searching for new physics phenomena of particle production in high transverse momentum and high multiplicity region at proton-proton colliders RHIC and LHC.

New experimental data on inclusive spectra of identified particles produced in pp collisions at the RHIC are used to test z-scaling. Energy and multiplicity independence of the scaling function is established. The RHIC data confirm z-scaling observed at U70, ISR, SpS and Tevatron energies. The obtained results are of interest to search for new physics phenomena of particle production in high transverse momentum and high multiplicity region at RHIC, Tevatron and LHC.

Generalized Z-Scaling for Charged Hadrons and Jets

Generalization of z-scaling observed in the inclusive high-pT charged hadron and jet production is proposed. The scaling function psi(z) describing both charged hadrons and jets produced in proton-(anti)proton collisions for various multiplicity densities and collision energies is constructed. Anomalous fractal dimensions and parameters characterizing associated medium for both classes of events are established. The basic features of the scaling established in minimum bias events are shown to be preserved up to the highest multiplicity densities measured in experiments UA1, E735, CDF and STAR. The obtained results are of interest to use z-scaling as a tool for searching for new physics phenomena of particle production in high transverse momentum and high multiplicity region at the U70, Tevatron, RHIC and LHC.

Z-Scaling and Inclusive Particle Production in p-p Collisions at High-pT

The properties of particle production in pp collisions are basis for analysis of pA and AA interactions and verification of theory. We analyzed inclusive particle production using z-scaling established in proton-proton and proton-antiproton collisions at the U70, ISR, Tevatron and RHIC. This scaling reflects symmetry of hadron structure, interaction and particle formation. It is shown that new data on charged hadron and pi0-meson spectra obtained in pp collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider confirm the z-scaling.

Z-scaling and space-time structural relativity

Assuming fractality of hadronic constituents, we introduce elements of special realization of the relativity principle applied to physical quantities expressed with respect to various fractal structures. The construction is inspired by the premisses of the z-scaling observed in the inclusive reactions at high energies. The scheme concerns parton structure of hadrons and nuclei at small scales.

Scaling properties of hadron production in pi-p and pi-A collisions at high-pT

Scaling features of particles produced in pi-p and pi-A collisions over a high-pT range at high energies are studied. The general concept of z-scaling is applied for the analysis of pi-p and pi-A experimental data on the inclusive cross section. The scaling function psi(z) and scaling variable z are constructed and the anomalous dimension delta_pi is found. The A-dependence of particle production in pion-nucleus collisions is studied. The predictions of the inclusive cross section of the pi0-mesons produced in pi-A collisions in the central rapidity range at high energies have been made.

Fractality and geometry in ultra-relativistic nuclear collisions

Assuming fractality of hadronic constituents, we argue that asymmetry of space-time can be induced in the ultra-relativistic interactions of hadrons and nuclei. The asymmetry is expressed in terms of the anomalous fractal dimensions of the colliding objects. Besides state of motion, the relativistic principle is applied to the state of asymmetry as well. Such realization of relativity concerns scale dependence of physical laws emerging at small distances. We show that induced asymmetries of space-time are a priori not excluded by the Michelson's experiment even at large scales.

Z scaling, fractality, and principles of relativity in the interactions of hadrons and nuclei at high energies

The formation length of particles produced in the relativistic collisions of hadrons and nuclei has relevance to fundamental principles of physics at small interaction distances. The relation is expressed by z scaling observed in the differential cross sections for the inclusive reactions at high energies. The scaling variable reflects the length of the elementary particle trajectory in terms of a fractal measure. Characterizing the fractal approach, we demonstrate the relativity principles in space with broken isotropy. We derive relativistic transformations accounting for asymmetry of space-time expressed by different anomalous fractal dimensions of the interacting objects.
