Comment on " Thermodynamics of a One- Dimensional Ideal Gas with fractional Exclusion Statistics "

In a recent letter -Phys. Rev. Lett. 73, 3331 (1995)-, the conclusion was reached that, in the one-dimensional Calogero model, only the second virial coefficient is affected by the statistical parameter $α$, where $α$ is related to the coupling constant $κ/ x_{ij}^2$ of the Calogero interaction by $κ=α(α+1)$. We argue that it is not so, i.e. all virial coefficients are affected, if the thermodynamic limit is properly taken.

Random Magnetic Impurities and the $δ$ Impurity Problem

One considers the effect of disorder on the 2-dimensional density of states of an electron in a constant magnetic field superposed onto a Poissonnian random distribution of point vortices. If one restricts the electron Hilbert space to the lowest Landau level of the total average magnetic field, the random magnetic impurity problem is mapped onto a contact $δ$ impurity problem. A brownian motion analysis of the model, based on brownian probability distributions for arithmetic area winding sectors, is also proposed. PACS numbers: 05.30.-d, 05.40.+j, 11.10.-

Ideal Anyons

A general introduction to the anyon model (braid group, Chern-Simons Lagrangian and Aharonov-Bohm Hamiltonian formulations) is given. A review follows on exact results and possible ways of getting additional information, as mean field approach, perturbation theory, and projection on the lowest Landau level of an external magnetic field.
