Coherent states for ladder operators of general order related to exceptional orthogonal polynomials

We construct the coherent states of general order, $m$ for the ladder operators, $c(m)$ and $c^\dagger(m)$, which act on rational deformations of the harmonic oscillator. The position wavefunctions of the eigenvectors involve type III Hermite exceptional orthogonal polynomials. We plot energy expectations, time-dependent position probability densities for the coherent states and for the even and odd cat states, Wigner functions, and Heisenberg uncertainty relations. We find generally non-classical behaviour, with one exception: there is a regime of large magnitude of the coherent state parameter, $z$, where the otherwise indistinct position probability density separates into $m+1$ distinct wavepackets oscillating and colliding in the potential, forming interference fringes when they collide. The Mandel $Q$ parameter is calculated to find sub-Poissonian statistics, another indicator of non-classical behaviour. We plot the position standard deviation and find squeezing in many of the cases. We calculate the two-photon-number probability density for the output state when the $m=4$, $μ=-5$ coherent states (where $μ$ labels the lowest weight in the superposition) are placed on one arm of a beamsplitter. We find that it does not factorize, again indicating non-classical behaviour. Calculation of the linear entropy for this beamsplitter output state shows significant entanglement, another non-classical feature. We also construct linearized versions, $\tilde c(m)$, of the annihilation operators and their coherent states and calculate the same properties that we investigate for the coherent states. For these we find similar behaviour to the $c(m)$ coherent states, at much smaller magnitudes of $z$, but comparable average energies.

On superintegrable monopole systems

Superintegrable systems with monopole interactions in flat and curved spaces have attracted much attention. For example, models in spaces with a Taub-NUT metric are well-known to admit the Kepler-type symmetries and provide non-trivial generalizations of the usual Kepler problems. In this paper, we overview new families of superintegrable Kepler, MIC-harmonic oscillator and deformed Kepler systems interacting with Yang-Coulomb monopoles in the flat and curved Taub-NUT spaces. We present their higher-order, algebraically independent integrals of motion via the direct and constructive approaches which prove the superintegrability of the models. The integrals form symmetry polynomial algebras of the systems with structure constants involving Casimir operators of certain Lie algebras. Such algebraic approaches provide a deeper understanding to the degeneracies of the energy spectra and connection between wave functions and differential equations and geometry.

Algebraic calculations for spectrum of superintegrable system from exceptional orthogonal polynomials

We introduce an extended Kepler-Coulomb quantum model in spherical coordinates. The Schrödinger equation of this Hamiltonian is solved in these coordinates and it is shown that the wave functions of the system can be expressed in terms of Laguerre, Legendre and exceptional Jacobi polynomials (of hypergeometric type). We construct ladder and shift operators based on the corresponding wave functions and obtain their recurrence formulas. These recurrence relations are used to construct higher-order, algebraically independent integrals of motion to prove superintegrability of the Hamiltonian. The integrals form a higher rank polynomial algebra. By constructing the structure functions of the associated deformed oscillator algebras we derive the degeneracy of energy spectrum of the superintegrable system.

Non-classical behaviour of coherent states for systems constructed using exceptional orthogonal polynomials

We construct the coherent states and Schrödinger cat states associated with new types of ladder operators for a particular case of a rationally extended harmonic oscillator involving type III Hermite exceptional orthogonal polynomials. In addition to the coherent states of the annihilation operator, $c$, we form the linearised version, \tilde{c}, and obtain its coherent states. We find that while the coherent states defined as eigenvectors of the annihilation operator $c$ display only quantum behaviour, those of the linearised version, \tilde{c}, have position probability densities displaying distinct wavepackets oscillating and colliding in the potential. The collisions are certainly quantum, as interference fringes are produced, but the remaining evolution indicates a classical analogue.

A differential operator realisation approach for constructing Casimir operators of non-semisimple Lie algebras

We introduce a search algorithm that utilises differential operator realisations to find polynomial Casimir operators of Lie algebras. To demonstrate the algorithm, we look at two classes of examples: (1) the model filiform Lie algebras and (2) the Schrödinger Lie algebras. We find that an abstract form of dimensional analysis assists us in our algorithm, and greatly reduces the complexity of the problem.

Fourth order Superintegrable systems separating in Cartesian coordinates I. Exotic quantum potentials

A study is presented of two-dimensional superintegrable systems separating in Cartesian coordinates and allowing an integral of motion that is a fourth order polynomial in the momenta. All quantum mechanical potentials that do not satisfy any linear differential equation are found. They do however satisfy nonlinear ODEs. We show that these equations always have the Painlevé property and integrate them in terms of known Painlevé transcendents or elliptic functions.

Quadratic algebra for superintegrable monopole system in a Taub-NUT space

We introduce a Hartmann system in the generalized Taub-NUT space with Abelian monopole interaction. This quantum system includes well known Kaluza-Klein monopole and MIC-Zwanziger monopole as special cases. It is shown that the corresponding Schrodinger equation of the Hamiltonian is separable in both spherical and parabolic coordinates. We obtain the integrals of motion of this superintegrable model and construct the quadratic algebra and Casimir operator. This algebra can be realized in terms of a deformed oscillator algebra and has finite dimensional unitary representations (unirreps) which provide energy spectra of the system. This result coincides with the physical spectra obtained from the separation of variables.

Quadratic algebra structure in the 5D Kepler system with non-central potentials and Yang-Coulomb monopole interaction

We construct the integrals of motion for the 5D deformed Kepler system with non-central potentials in $su(2)$ Yang-Coulomb monopole field. We show that these integrals form a higher rank quadratic algebra $Q(3; L^{so(4)}, T^{su(2)})\oplus so(4)$, with structure constants involving the Casimir operators of $so(4)$ and $su(2)$ Lie algebras. We realize the quadratic algebra in terms of the deformed oscillator and construct its finite-dimensional unitary representations. This enable us to derive the energy spectrum of the system algebraically. Furthermore we show that the model is multiseparable and allows separation of variables in the hyperspherical and parabolic coordinates. We also show the separability of its 8D dual system (i.e. the 8D singular harmonic oscillator) in the Euler and cylindrical coordinates.

Recurrence approach and higher rank polynomial algebras for superintegrable monopole systems

We revisit the MIC-harmonic oscillator in flat space with monopole interaction and derive the polynomial algebra satisfied by the integrals of motion and its energy spectrum using the ad hoc recurrence approach. We introduce a superintegrable monopole system in generalized Taub-NUT space. The Schrödinger equation of this model is solved in spherical coordinates in the framework of Stäckel transformation. It is shown that wave functions of the quantum system can be expressed in terms of the product of Laguerre and Jacobi polynomials. We construct ladder and shift operators based on the corresponding wave functions and obtain the recurrence formulas. By applying these recurrence relations, we construct higher order algebraically independent integrals of motion. We show the integrals form a polynomial algebra. We construct the structure functions of the polynomial algebra and obtain the degenerate energy spectra of the model.

Recurrence approach and higher rank cubic algebras for the $N$-dimensional superintegrable systems

By applying the recurrence approach and coupling constant metamorphosis, we construct higher order integrals of motion for the Stackel equivalents of the $N$-dimensional superintegrable Kepler-Coulomb model with non-central terms and the double singular oscillators of type ($n, N-n$). We show how the integrals of motion generate higher rank cubic algebra $C(3)\oplus L_1\oplus L_2$ with structure constants involving Casimir operators of the Lie algebras $L_1$ and $L_2$. The realizations of the cubic algebras in terms of deformed oscillators enable us to construct finite dimensional unitary representations and derive the degenerate energy spectra of the corresponding superintegrable systems.

Connection between quantum systems involving the fourth Painleve transcendent and $k$-step rational extensions of the harmonic oscillator related to Hermite EOP

The purpose of this communication is to point out the connection between a 1D quantum Hamiltonian involving the fourth Painleve transcendent P$_{\rm IV}$, obtained in the context of second-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics and third-order ladder operators, with a hierarchy of families of quantum systems called $k$-step rational extensions of the harmonic oscillator and related with multi-indexed $X_{m_{1},m_{2},...,m_{k}}$ Hermite exceptionnal orthogonal polynomials of type III. The connection between these exactly solvable models is established at the level of the equivalence of the Hamiltonians using rational solutions of the fourth Painleve equation in terms of generalized Hermite and Okamoto polynomials. We also relate the different ladder operators obtained by various combinations of supersymmetric constructions involving Darboux-Crum and Krein-Adler supercharges, their zero modes and the corresponding energies. These results will demonstrate and clarify the relation observed for a particular case in previous papers.

Family of $N$-dimensional superintegrable systems and quadratic algebra structures

Classical and quantum superintegrable systems have a long history and they possess more integrals of motion than degrees of freedom. They have many attractive properties, wide applications in modern physics and connection to many domains in pure and applied mathematics. We overview two new families of superintegrable Kepler-Coulomb systems with non-central terms and superintegrable Hamiltonians with double singular oscillators of type $(n,N-n)$ in $N$-dimensional Euclidean space. We present their quadratic and polynomial algebras involving Casimir operators of $so(N+1)$ Lie algebras that exhibit very interesting decompositions $Q(3)\oplus so(N-1)$, $Q(3)\oplus so(n)\oplus so(N-n)$ and the cubic Casimir operators. The realization of these algebras in terms of deformed oscillator enables the determination of a finite dimensional unitary representation. We present algebraic derivations of the degenerate energy spectra of these systems and relate them with the physical spectra obtained from the separation of variables.

Families of 2D superintegrable anisotropic Dunkl oscillators and algebraic derivation of their spectrum

We generalise the construction of integrals of motion for quantum superintegrable models and the deformed oscillator algebra approach. This is presented in the context of 1D systems admitting ladder operators satisfying a parabosonic algebra involving reflection operators and more generally $c_λ$ extended oscillator algebras with grading. We apply the construction on two-dimensional $c_λ$ oscillators. We also introduce two new superintegrable Hamiltonians that are the anisotropic Dunkl and the singular Dunkl oscillators. We construct the integrals and using this extended approach of the Daskaloyannis method with grading and we present an algebraic derivation of the energy spectrum of the two models from the finite dimensional unitary representations and show how their spectrum divides into different sectors and relates to the physical spectrum.

A new family of $N$ dimensional superintegrable double singular oscillators and quadratic algebra $Q(3)\oplus so(n) \oplus so(N-n)$

We introduce a new family of $N$-dimensional quantum superintegrable model consisting of double singular oscillators of type $(n,N-n)$. The special cases $(2,2)$ and $(4,4)$ were previously identified as the duals of 3- and 5-dimensional deformed Kepler-Coulomb systems with $u(1)$ and $su(2)$ monopoles respectively. The models are multiseparable and their wave functions are obtained in $(n,N-n)$ double-hyperspherical coordinates. We obtain the integrals of motion and construct the finitely generated polynomial algebra that is the direct sum of a quadratic algebra $Q(3)$ involving three generators, $so(n)$, $so(N-n)$ (i.e. $Q(3)\oplus so(n) \oplus so(N-n)$ ). The structure constants of the quadratic algebra themselves involve the Casimir operators of the two Lie algebras $so(n)$ and $so(N-n)$. Moreover, we obtain the finite dimensional unitary representations (unirreps) of the quadratic algebra and present an algebraic derivation of the degenerate energy spectrum of the superintegrable model.

New 1-step extension of the Swanson oscillator and superintegrability of its two-dimensional generalization

We derive a one-step extension of the well known Swanson oscillator that describes a specific type of pseudo-Hermitian quadratic Hamiltonian connected to an extended harmonic oscillator model. Our analysis is based on the use of the techniques of supersymmetric quantum mechanics and address various representations of the ladder operators starting from a seed solution of the harmonic oscillator given in terms of a pseudo-Hermite polynomial. The role of the resulting chain of Hamiltonians related via similarity transformation is then exploited. In the second part we write down a two dimensional generalization of the Swanson Hamiltonian and establish superintegrability of such a system.

Exact solution of the p+ip Hamiltonian revisited: duality relations in the hole-pair picture

We study the exact Bethe Ansatz solution of the p+ip Hamiltonian in a form whereby quantum numbers of states refer to hole-pairs, rather than particle-pairs used in previous studies. We find an asymmetry between these approaches. For the attractive system states in the strong pairing regime take the form of a quasi-condensate involving two distinct hole-pair creation operators. An analogous feature is not observed in the particle-pair picture.

Deformed oscillator algebra approach of some quantum superintegrable Lissajous systems on the sphere and of their rational extensions

We extend the construction of 2D superintegrable Hamiltonians with separation of variables in spherical coordinates using combinations of shift, ladder, and supercharge operators to models involving rational extensions of the two-parameter Lissajous systems on the sphere. These new families of superintegrable systems with integrals of arbitrary order are connected with Jacobi exceptional orthogonal polynomials (EOP) of type I (or II) and supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SUSYQM). Moreover, we present an algebraic derivation of the degenerate energy spectrum for the one- and two-parameter Lissajous systems and the rationally extended models. These results are based on finitely generated polynomial algebras, Casimir operators, realizations as deformed oscillator algebras and finite-dimensional unitary representations. Such results have only been established so far for 2D superintegrable systems separable in Cartesian coordinates, which are related to a class of polynomial algebras that display a simpler structure. We also point out how the structure function of these deformed oscillator algebras is directly related with the generalized Heisenberg algebras (GHA) spanned by the nonpolynomial integrals.

New families of superintegrable systems from k-step rational extensions, polynomial algebras and degeneracies

Four new families of two-dimensional quantum superintegrable systems are constructed from k-step extension of the harmonic oscillator and the radial oscillator. Their wavefunctions are related with Hermite and Laguerre exceptional orthogonal polynomials (EOP) of type III. We show that ladder operators obtained from alternative construction based on combinations of supercharges in the Krein-Adler and Darboux Crum ( or state deleting and creating ) approaches can be used to generate a set of integrals of motion and a corresponding polynomial algebra that provides an algebraic derivation of the full spectrum and total number of degeneracies. Such derivation is based on finite dimensional unitary representations (unirreps) and doesn't work for integrals build from standard ladder operators in supersymmetric quantum mechanics (SUSYQM) as they contain singlets isolated from excited states. In this paper, we also rely on a novel approach to obtain the finite dimensional unirreps based on the action of the integrals of motion on the wavefunctions given in terms of these EOP. We compare the results with those obtained from the Daskaloyannis approach and the realizations in terms of deformed oscillator algebras for one of the new families in the case of 1-step extension. This communication is a review of recent works.
