Global boundedness for Generalized Schr\"odinger-Type Double Phase Problems in $\mathbb{R}^N$ and Applications to Supercritical Double Phase Problems

We establish two global boundedness results for weak solutions to generalized Schr\"{o}dinger-type double phase problems with variable exponents in $\mathbb{R}^N$ under new critical growth conditions optimally introduced in [26, 32]. More precisely, for the case of subcritical growth, we employ the De Giorgi iteration with a suitable localization method in $\mathbb{R}^N$ to obtain a-priori bounds. As a byproduct, we derive the decay property of weak solutions. For the case of critical growth, using the De Giorgi iteration with a localization adapted to the critical growth, we prove the global boundedness. As an interesting application of these results, the existence of weak solutions for supercritical double phase problems is shown. These results are new even for problems with constant exponents in $\mathbb{R}^N$.

Positive solutions for fractional-order boundary value problems with or without dependence of integer-order ones

We investigate the existence, non-existence, uniqueness, and multiplicity of positive solutions to the following problem: \begin{align}\label{P} \left\{ \begin{array}{l} D_{0+}^\alpha u + h(t)f(u) = 0, \quad 0<t<1, \\[1ex] u(0)=u(1)=0, \end{array} \right. \end{align} where $D_{0+}^\alpha$ is the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative of order $\alpha\in(1,2]$. Firstly, by considering the first eigenvalue $\lambda_1(\alpha)$ of the corresponding eigenvalue problem, we establish the existence of positive solutions for both sublinear and superlinear cases involving $\lambda_1(\alpha)$, thereby extending existing results in the literature. In addition, we address the issue of non-existence, which reinforces the sharpness of both hypotheses. Secondly, we demonstrate the uniqueness of positive solutions. For the sublinear case, we impose certain monotonicity conditions on $f$. For the superlinear case, we assume that $h$ satisfies a specific condition to ensure the uniqueness of positive solutions when $\alpha =2.$ Near $\alpha =2,$ we prove uniqueness by leveraging the non-degeneracy of the unique solution, which represents a novel approach to studying fractional-order differential equations. Finally, we apply this methodology to establish the multiple existence of at least three positive solutions for H\'{e}non-type problems, which is also a new contribution.

On sufficient "local" conditions for existence results to generalized $p(\cdot)$-Laplace equations involving critical growth

In this paper, we study the existence of multiple solutions to a generalized $p(\cdot)$-Laplace equation with two parameters involving critical growth. More precisely, we give sufficient "local" conditions, which mean that growths between the main operator and nonlinear term are locally assumed for the cases $p(\cdot)$-sublinear, $p(\cdot)$-superlinear, and sandwich-type. Compared to constant exponent problems (for examples, $p$-Laplacian and $(p,q)$-Laplacian), this characterizes the study of variable exponent problems. We show this by applying variants of the Mountain Pass Theorem for $p(\cdot)$-sublinear and $p(\cdot)$-superlinear cases and constructing critical values defined by a minimax argument in the genus theory for sandwich-type case. Moreover, we also obtain a nontrivial nonnegative solution for sandwich-type case changing a role of parameters. Our work is a generalization of several existing works in the literature.

Properties of eigenvalues and some regularities on fractional $p$-Laplacian with singular weights

We provide fundamental properties of the first eigenpair for fractional $p$-Laplacian eigenvalue problems under singular weights, which is related to Hardy type inequality, and also show that the second eigenvalue is well-defined. We obtain a-priori bounds and the continuity of solutions to problems with such singular weights with some additional assumptions. Moreover, applying the above results, we show a global bifurcation emenating from the first eigenvalue, the Fredholm alternative for non-resonant problems, and obtain the existence of infinitely many solutions for some nonlinear problems involving singular weights. These are new results, even for (fractional) Laplacian.

Positive solutions of semipositone elliptic problems with critical Trudinger-Moser nonlinearities

We prove the existence of a positive solution to a semipositone $N$-Laplacian problem with a critical Trudinger-Moser nonlinearity. The proof is based on obtaining uniform $C^{1,\alpha}$ a priori estimates via a compactness argument. Our result is new even in the semilinear case $N = 2$, and our arguments can easily be adapted to obtain positive solutions of more general semipositone problems with critical Trudinger-Moser nonlinearities.

Existence results for Schr\"odinger $p(x)$-Laplace equations involving critical growth in $\mathbb{R}^N$

We establish some existence results for Schr\"odinger $p(x)$-Laplace equations in $\mathbb{R}^N$ with various potentials and critical growth of nonlinearity that may occur on some nonempty set, although not necessarily the whole space $\mathbb{R}^N$. The proofs are mainly based on concentration-compactness principles in a suitable weighted variable exponent Sobolev space and its imbeddings.

A class of semipositone $p$-Laplacian problems with a critical growth reaction term

We prove the existence of ground state positive solutions for a class of semipositone $p$-Laplacian problems with a critical growth reaction term. The proofs are established by obtaining crucial uniform $C^{1,\alpha}$ a priori estimates and by concentration compactness arguments. Our results are new even in the semilinear case $p = 2$.

Existence results for degenerate $p(x)$-Laplace equations with Leray-Lions type operators

We show the various existence results for degenerate $p(x)$-Laplace equations with Leray-Lions type operators. A suitable condition on degeneracy is discussed and proofs are mainly based on direct methods and critical point theories in Calculus of Variations. In particular, we investigate the various situations of the growth rates between principal operators and nonlinearities.

$p$-Laplace equations with singular weights

We study a class of $p$-Laplacian Dirichlet problems with weights that are possibly singular on the boundary of the domain, and obtain nontrivial solutions using Morse theory. In the absence of a direct sum decomposition, we use a cohomological local splitting to get an estimate of the critical groups.
