On uniqueness of solutions to stochastic Navier--Stokes equations

Theorems on uniqueness and continuous dependence on the initial condition of solutions to stochastic Navier-Stokes equations driven by Wiener processes and Poisson martingale measures are presented. These theorems generalise some results from \cite{GK2026}.

On partially observed jump diffusions II. The filtering density

A partially observed jump diffusion $Z=(X_t,Y_t)_{t\in[0,T]}$ given by a stochastic differential equation driven by Wiener processes and Poisson martingale measures is considered when the coefficients of the equation satisfy appropriate Lipschitz and growth conditions. Under general conditions it is shown that the conditional density of the unobserved component $X_t$ given the observations $(Y_s)_{s\in[0,T]}$ exists and belongs to $L_p$ if the conditional density of $X_0$ given $Y_0$ exists and belongs to $L_p$.

On partially observed jump diffusions III. Regularity of the filtering density

The filtering equations associated to a partially observed jump diffusion model $(Z_t)_{t\in [0,T]}=(X_t,Y_t)_{t\in [0,T]}$, driven by Wiener processes and Poisson martingale measures are considered. Building on results from two preceding articles on the filtering equations, the regularity of the conditional density of the signal $X_t$, given observations $(Y_s)_{s\in [0,t]}$, is investigated, when the conditional density of $X_0$ given $Y_0$ exists and belongs to a Sobolev space, and the coefficients satisfy appropriate smoothness and growth conditions.

On partially observed jump diffusions I. The filtering equations

This paper is the first part of a series of papers on filtering for partially observed jump diffusions satisfying a stochastic differential equation driven by Wiener processes and Poisson martingale measures. The coefficients of the equation only satisfy appropriate growth conditions. Some results in filtering theory of diffusion processes are extended to jump diffusions and equations for the time evolution of the conditional distribution and the unnormalised conditional distribution of the unobserved process at time $t$, given the observations until $t$, are presented.

On Itô formulas for jump processes

A well-known Itô formula for finite dimensional processes, given in terms of stochastic integrals with respect to Wiener processes and Poisson random measures, is revisited and is revised. The revised formula, which corresponds to the classical Itô formula for semimartingales with jumps, is then used to obtain a generalisation of an important infinite dimensional Itô formula for continuous semimartingales proved by Krylov to a class of $L_p$-valued jump processes. This generalisation is motivated by applications in the theory of stochastic PDEs.

Accelerated finite elements schemes for parabolic stochastic partial differential equations

For a class of finite elements approximations for linear stochastic parabolic PDEs it is proved that one can accelerate the rate of convergence by Richardson extrapolation. More precisely, by taking appropriate mixtures of finite elements approximations one can accelerate the convergence to any given speed provided the coefficients, the initial and free data are sufficiently smooth.

On $L_p$-Solvability of Stochastic Integro-Differential Equations

A class of (possibly) degenerate stochastic integro-differential equations of parabolic type is considered, which includes the Zakai equation in nonlinear filtering for jump diffusions. Existence and uniqueness of the solutions are established in Bessel potential spaces.

Itô's formula for jump processes in $L_p$-spaces

We present an Itô formula for the $L_p$-norm of jump processes having stochastic differentials in $L_p$-spaces. The main results extend well-known theorems of Krylov to the case of processes with jumps, and which can be used to prove existence and uniqueness theorems in $L_p$-spaces for SPDEs driven by Lévy processes.

On solvability of integro-differential equations

A class of (possibly) degenerate integro-differential equations of parabolic type is considered, which includes the Kolmogorov equations for jump diffusions. Existence and uniqueness of the solutions are established in Bessel potential spaces and in Sobolev-Slobodeckij spaces. Generalisations to stochastic integro-differential equations, arising in filtering theory of jump diffusions, will be given in a forthcoming paper.

Localization errors in solving stochastic partial differential equations in the whole space

Cauchy problems with SPDEs on the whole space are localized to Cauchy problems on a ball of radius $R$. This localization reduces various kinds of spatial approximation schemes to finite dimensional problems. The error is shown to be exponentially small. As an application, a numerical scheme is presented which combines the localization and the space and time discretisation, and thus is fully implementable.

Itô Formula for Processes Taking Values in Intersection of Finitely Many Banach Spaces

Motivated by applications to SPDEs we extend the Itô formula for the square of the norm of a semimartingale $y(t)$ from Gyöngy and Krylov (Stochastics 6(3):153-173, 1982) to the case \begin{equation*} \sum_{i=1}^m \int_{(0,t]} v_i^{\ast}(s)\,dA(s) + h(t)=:y(t)\in V \quad \text{$dA\times \mathbb{P}$-a.e.}, \end{equation*} where $A$ is an increasing right-continuous adapted process, $v_i^{\ast}$ is a progressively measurable process with values in $V_i^{\ast}$, the dual of a Banach space $V_i$, $h$ is a cadlag martingale with values in a Hilbert space $H$, identified with its dual $H^{\ast}$, and $V:=V_1\cap V_2 \cap \ldots \cap V_m$ is continuously and densely embedded in $H$. The formula is proved under the condition that $\|y\|_{V_i}^{p_i}$ and $\|v_i^\ast\|_{V_i^\ast}^{q_i}$ are almost surely locally integrable with respect to $dA$ for some conjugate exponents $p_i, q_i$. This condition is essentially weaker than the one which would arise in application of the results in Gyöngy and Krylov (Stochastics 6(3):153-173, 1982) to the semimartingale above.

A Feynman-Kac formula for stochastic Dirichlet problems

A representation formula for solutions of stochastic partial differential equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions is proved. The scope of our setting is wide enough to cover the general situation when the backward characteristics that appear in the usual formulation are not even defined in the Itô sense.

Convergence of tamed Euler schemes for a class of stochastic evolution equations

We prove stability and convergence of a full discretization for a class of stochastic evolution equations with super-linearly growing operators appearing in the drift term. This is done using the recently developed tamed Euler method, which uses a fully explicit time stepping, coupled with a Galerkin scheme for the spatial discretization.

On finite-difference approximations for normalized Bellman equations

A class of stochastic optimal control problems involving optimal stopping is considered. Methods of Krylov are adapted to investigate the numerical solutions of the corresponding normalized Bellman equations and to estimate the rate of convergence of finite difference approximations for the optimal reward functions.
