No-go theorem for static spherically symmetric configurations composed of two charged pressureless fluid species

We present a no-go theorem for spherically symmetric configurations of two charged fluid species in equilibrium. The fluid species are assumed to be dusts, that is, perfect fluids without pressure, and the equilibrium can be attained for a single dust from the balance of electrostatic repulsion and gravitational attraction. We show that this is impossible for two dust species unless both of them are indistinguishable in terms of their electric charge density to matter density ratio. The result is obtained in the main three theories of mechanics, that is, in Newtonian Mechanics, in Special Relativity and in General Relativity. In particular, as charged dust solutions have been used to study the possibility of black hole mimickers, this result shows that such mimickers can not be constructed unless the underlying charged particle has the correct charge to mass ratio.

No-go theorem for static configurations of two charged dust species

We consider static spacetimes with no specific spacial symmetry where the matter content consists of two charged dust species. This comes motivated by the fact that static configurations are possible with one dust, but only if it is electrically counterpoised dust. In order to have such dust, the quotient between electric charge density and mass density needs to be fine-tuned to a value that is far less than the charge-mass quotient for any known particle. Here we prove that there are no static configurations with two dust species unless each one is electrically counterpoised dust. This shows that electrically counterpoised dust spacetimes can not be made with matter that has on average the correct charge-mass ratio, but that the underlying particles must have such ratio.

Spherically symmetric linear perturbations of electrically counterpoised dust

We consider spherically symmetric linear perturbations of static spherically symmetric spacetimes where the matter content is ellectrically counterpoised dust. We show that the evolution equation for the fluid perturbation implies that the fluid elements move with constant velocities. Therefore there are neither oscillations nor exponential departure from the background solution. We present an explicit example that shows that the perturbation could lead to the formation of a black hole.

Bounds for the metric and shift vector on extreme Kerr under linear axially symmetric gravitational perturbations

We present integral estimates for the shift and induced metric in the maximal isothermal gauge, corresponding to linear axially symmetric gravitational perturbations over the Minkowski and extreme Kerr metric. These bounds are a step towards finding pointwise bounds for the perturbations. In particular the presented estimate for the shift includes the horizon for the extreme Kerr case.

On the linear stability of the extreme Kerr black hole under axially symmetric perturbations

We prove that for axially symmetric linear gravitational perturbations of the extreme Kerr black hole there exists a positive definite and conserved energy. This provides a basic criteria for linear stability in axial symmetry. In the particular case of Minkowski, using this energy we also prove pointwise boundedness of the perturbation in a remarkable simple way.
