The Coupled Cluster Method and Entanglement

The Coupled Cluster (CC) and full CI expansions are studied for three fermions with six and seven modes. Surprisingly the CC expansion is tailor made to characterize the usual SLOCC entanglement classes. It means that the notion of a SLOCC transformation shows up quite naturally as a one relating the CC and CI expansions, and going from the CI expansion to the CC one is equivalent to obtaining a form for the state where the structure of the entanglement classes is transparent. In this picture entanglement is characterized by the parameters of the cluster operators describing transitions from occupied states to singles, doubles and triples of non occupied ones. Using the CC parametrization of states in the seven mode case we give a simple formula for the unique SLOCC invariant $\mathcal{J}$. Then we consider a perturbation problem featuring a state from the unique SLOCC class characterized by $\mathcal{J}\neq 0$. For this state with entanglement generated by doubles we investigate the phenomenon of changing the entanglement type due to the perturbing effect of triples. We show that there are states with real amplitudes such that their entanglement encoded into configurations of clusters of doubles is protected from errors generated by triples. Finally we put forward a proposal to use the parameters of the cluster operator describing transitions to doubles for entanglement characterization. Compared to the usual SLOCC classes this provides a coarse grained approach to fermionic entanglement.

On an economic prediction of the finer resolution level wavelet coefficients in electron structure calculations

In wavelet based electron structure calculations introducing a new, finer resolution level is usually an expensive task, this is why often a two-level approximation is used with very fine starting resolution level. This process results in large matrices to calculate with and a large number of coefficients to be stored. In our previous work we have developed an adaptively refining solution scheme that determines the indices, where refined basis functions are to be included, and later a method for predicting the next, finer resolution coefficients in a very economic way. In the present contribution we would like to determine, whether the method can be applied for predicting not only the first, but also the other, higher resolution level coefficients. Also the energy expectation values of the predicted wave functions are studied, as well as the scaling behaviour of the coefficients in the fine resolution limit.

A study of two-qubit density matrices with fermionic purifications

We study 12 parameter families of two qubit density matrices, arising from a special class of two-fermion systems with four single particle states or alternatively from a four-qubit state with amplitudes arranged in an antisymmetric matrix. We calculate the Wooters concurrences and the negativities in a closed form and study their behavior. We use these results to show that the relevant entanglement measures satisfy the generalized Coffman-Kundu-Wootters formula of distributed entanglement. An explicit formula for the residual tangle is also given. The geometry of such density matrices is elaborated in some detail. In particular an explicit form for the Bures metric is given.

An elementary formula for entanglement entropies of fermionic systems

An elementary formula for the von Neumann and Renyi entropies describing quantum correlations in two-fermionic systems having four single particle states is presented. An interesting geometric structure of fermionic entanglement is revealed. A connection with the generalized Pauli principle is established.

Multifractality beyond the Parabolic Approximation: Deviations from the Log-normal Distribution at Criticality in Quantum Hall Systems

Based on differences of generalized Rényi entropies nontrivial constraints on the shape of the distribution function of broadly distributed observables are derived introducing a new parameter in order to quantify the deviation from lognormality. As a test example the properties of the two--measure random Cantor set are calculated exactly and finally using the results of numerical simulations the distribution of the eigenvector components calculated in the critical region of the lowest Landau--band is analyzed.

Shape Analysis of the Level Spacing Distribution around the Metal Insulator Transition in the Three Dimensional Anderson Model

We present a new method for the numerical treatment of second order phase transitions using the level spacing distribution function $P(s)$. We show that the quantities introduced originally for the shape analysis of eigenvectors can be properly applied for the description of the eigenvalues as well. The position of the metal--insulator transition (MIT) of the three dimensional Anderson model and the critical exponent are evaluated. The shape analysis of $P(s)$ obtained numerically shows that near the MIT $P(s)$ is clearly different from both the Brody distribution and from Izrailev's formula, and the best description is of the form $P(s)=c_1\,s\exp(-c_2\,s^{1+β})$, with $β\approx 0.2$. This is in good agreement with recent analytical results.

Information Length and Localization in One Dimension

The scaling properties of the wave functions in finite samples of the one dimensional Anderson model are analyzed. The states have been characterized using a new form of the information or entropic length, and compared with analytical results obtained by assuming an exponential envelope function. A perfect agreement is obtained already for systems of $10^3$--$10^4$ sites over a very wide range of disorder parameter $10^{-4}<W<10^4$. Implications for higher dimensions are also presented.
