Lessons from fitting the lowest order energy independent chiral based $\bar{K}N$ potential to experimental data

It is shown, that fitting parameters of a $\bar{K}N$ interaction model to different sets of experimental data can lead to physical conclusions which might provide a deeper insight into the physics of this multichannel system. The available experimental data are divided into three parts: the "classical" set consisting of the low-energy $K^-p$ cross sections and the threshold branching ratios, the SIDDHARTA $1s$ level shift in kaonic hydrogen and the CLAS photoproduction data. We have fitted the parameters of the potential to different combinations of these data. We found, that the two poles corresponding to the $I=0$ nuclear quasi-bound state ($\Lam$) and to the $K^-p$ $1s$ atomic level seem to resist to their simultaneous reproduction at the right place, though a more or less satisfactory compromise can be achieved. Potentials with the $\Lam$ pole pinned down close to the PDG value fail to reproduce the classical two-body data with an acceptable accuracy. We also added comments on two papers criticizing the potential used in the fits.

Are the chiral based $\bar{K}N$ potentials really energy dependent?

It is shown, that the energy dependence of the chiral based $\bar{K}N$ potentials, responsible for the occurrence of two poles in the $I=0$ sector, is the consequence of applying the on-shell factorization introduced in [E. Oset, A. Ramos, Nucl. Phys. A 635(1998)99]. When the dynamical equation is solved without this approximation, the $T$-matrix has only one pole in the energy region of the $Λ(1405)$ resonance.

Three-body calculation of the $1s$ level shift in kaonic deuterium with realistic $\bar{K}N$ potentials

The $1s$ level shift in kaonic deuterium was calculated using Coulomb Sturmian expansion of Faddeev equations. The convergence of the method yields an $\sim\ 1\ eV$ accuracy for the level shifts. We used three different, realistic, multichannel $\bar{K}N$ interactions reproducing all known experimental two-body $\bar{K}N$ data. The different results suggest, that the level shift should be in the range $ΔE\sim(800\pm30)-(480\pm20){\rm i}\ \ eV$. The (almost) exact level shifts were compared with values, given by the commonly used approximations.

Signature of the $Λ(1405)$ resonance in neutron spectra from the $K^-+d$ reaction

Neutron spectra from the reaction $K^-+d\rightarrow π+Σ+n$ were calculated in the energy range $E^{cm}_{K^-}= 0-50\ MeV$ using coupled channel Faddeev equations for the description of the $\bar KNN-πΣN$ three-body system. The aim was to trace the signature of the $Λ(1405)$ resonance in the spectra. We found, that while in the direct spectra kinematic effects mask completely the peak corresponding to the resonance, the deviation spectrum method [1] is able to eliminate kinematics and differentiate between different models of $Λ(1405)$. Four different phenomenological $\bar{K}N-πΣ$ interactions were used in order to study the effect of their pole positions on the neutron spectra.
