Characterization and performance of an upgraded front-end-board for NectarCAM

This paper presents an analysis of the updated version of the Front-End Board (FEB) for the NectarCAM camera, developed for the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO). The FEB is a critical component responsible for reading and converting signals from the camera's photo-multiplier tubes into digital data and generating module-level trigger signals. This study provides an overview of the design and performance of the new FEB version, including the use of an improved NECTAr3 chip with advanced features. The NECTAr3 chip contains a switched capacitor array for sampling signals at 1 GHz and a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for digitization upon receiving a trigger signal. The integration of the new NECTAr3 chip results in a significant reduction of NectarCAM's deadtime by an order of magnitude compared to the previous version. The paper also presents the results of laboratory testing, including measurements of timing performance, linearity, dynamic range, and deadtime, to characterize the new FEB's performance.

Performances of an upgraded front-end-board for the NectarCAM camera

The Front-End Board (FEB) is a key component of the NectarCAM camera, which has been developed for the Medium-Sized-Telescopes (MST) of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO). The FEB is responsible for reading and converting the signals from the camera's photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs) into digital data, as well as generating module level trigger signals. This contribution provides an overview of the design and performances of a new version of the FEB that utilizes an improved version of the NECTAr chip. The NECTAr chip includes a switched capacitor array for sampling signals at 1 GHz, and a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for digitizing each sample when the trigger signal is received. The integration of this advanced NECTAr chip significantly reduces the deadtime of NectarCAM by an order of magnitude as compared to the previous version. This contribution also presents the results of laboratory testing of the new FEB, including measurements of timing performance, linearity, dynamic range, and deadtime.

Membrane bound protein diffusion viewed by fluorescence recovery after bleaching experiments : models analysis

Diffusion processes in biological membranes are of interest to understand the macromolecular organisation and function of several molecules. Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) has been widely used as a method to analyse this processes using classical Brownian diffusion model. In the first part of this work, the analytical expression of the fluorescence recovery as a function of time has been established for anomalous diffusion due to long waiting times. Then, experimental fluorescence recoveries recorded in living cells on a membrane-bound protein have been analysed using three different models : normal Brownian diffusion, Brownian diffusion with an immobile fraction and anomalous diffusion due to long waiting times.

Analytical and numerical study of hardcore bosons in two dimensions

We study various properties of bosons in two dimensions interacting only via onsite hardcore repulsion. In particular, we use the lattice spin-wave approximation to calculate the ground state energy, the density, the condensate density and the superfluid density in terms of the chemical potential. We also calculate the excitation spectrum, $ω({\bf k})$. In addition, we performed high precision numerical simulations using the stochastic series expansion algorithm. We find that the spin-wave results describe extremely well the numerical results over the {\it whole} density range $0\leq ρ\leq 1$. We also compare the lattice spin-wave results with continuum results obtained by summing the ladder diagrams at low density. We find that for $ρ\leq 0.1$ there is good agreement, and that the difference between the two methods vanishes as $ρ^2$ for $ρ\to 0$. This offers the possibility of obtaining precise continuum results by taking the continuum limit of the spin-wave results for all densities. Finaly, we studied numerically the finite temperature phase transition for the entire density range and compared with low density predictions.

Energy Conservation Constraints on Multiplicity Correlations in QCD Jets

We compute analytically the effects of energy conservation on the self-similar structure of parton correlations in QCD jets. The calculations are performed both in the constant and running coupling cases. It is shown that the corrections are phenomenologically sizeable. On a theoretical ground, energy conservation constraints preserve the scaling properties of correlations in QCD jets beyond the leading log approximation.

Generalised Factorial Moments and QCD Jets

{ In this paper we present a natural and comprehensive generalisation of the standard factorial moments ($\clFq$) analysis of a multiplicity distribution. The Generalised Factorial Moments are defined for all $q$ in the complex plane and, as far as the negative part of its spectrum is concerned, could be useful for the study of infrared structure of the Strong Interactions Theory of high energy interactions (LEP multiplicity distribution under the ${\cal Z}_0$). The QCD calculation of the Generalised Factorial Moments for negative $q$ is performed in the double leading log accuracy and is compared to OPAL experimental data. The role played by the infrared cut-off of the model is discussed and illustrated with a Monte Carlo calculation. }

Angular Intermittency in QCD Jets

Using two methods, via fluctuations and correlations, an analytical formula is derived for the factorial multiplicity moments in a QCD jet at the Double Leading Logarithm accuracy. The resulting self-similar dependence on the solid-angle cell size is characteristic of an intermittency behaviour in angular variables. The intermittency indices depend on the diffusion angle through the running of $ α_ s. $ Physical features of jet fluctuations such as collimation at large angles and saturation at small angles are well described in the perturbative framework. A parameter-free prediction of angular intermittency is proposed for $ {\cal Z}^0 $ decays into hadrons, assuming hadron-parton duality.
