Light-front mass operator with dressed quarks

We construct an effective light-front mass-squared operator for quark-antiquark systems that incorporates quark dressing effects through a running quark mass. Starting from a Minkowski-space quark propagator constrained by lattice-QCD-inspired parametrization, we derive the disconnected light-front resolvent for a light quark-antiquark system using a generalized spectral representation of an individual quark propagator separating out the instantaneous contributions. By projecting the resolvent onto a constituent-quark helicity basis, we obtain an effective dressed mass-squared operator suitable for light-front Hamiltonian approaches. We introduce an effective light-front quark self-energy and analyze its momentum dependence. As an application, we study pion structure using representative light-front wave-function models and compute unpolarized transverse-momentum-dependent distributions, unpolarized parton distribution functions and distribution amplitudes. Our results show that quark dressing induces sizable infrared modifications while preserving controlled ultraviolet behavior, providing a framework to incorporate nonperturbative QCD dynamics into light-front descriptions of hadrons.

Revisiting the Wu-Yang Monopole: classical solutions and conformal invariance

he Wu-Yang monopole for pure SU(2) Yang-Mills theory is revisited. New classical solutions with finite energy are found for a generalized Wu-Yang configuration. Our method relies on known asymptotic series solutions and explores the conformal invariance of the theory to set the scale for the monopole configurations. Furthermore, by breaking the scale invariance of the pure Yang-Mills theory by a term which simulates the coupling to quark fields, four different monopole configurations with an energy of 2.9 GeV and spatial extent of 1.2 fm, 1.4 fm, 2.4 fm and 2.6 fm are obtained. These configurations may play a role in the transition to the plasma phase.

Light-front projections of the Bethe-Salpeter amplitude and the 4D electromagnetic current for an interacting two-fermion system

A recent approach for constructing an exact 3D reduction of the 4D matrix elements of the electromagnetic current for an interacting two-fermion system, is briefly reviewed. The properties of the obtained 3D current, like the fulfillment of the Ward-Takashi Identity and its Fock decomposition, will be illustrated in relation with future applications to few-nucleon systems.

Light-front Ward-Takahashi Identity for Two-Fermion Systems

We propose a three-dimensional electromagnetic current operator within light-front dynamics that satisfies a light-front Ward-Takahashi identity for two-fermion systems. The light-front current operator is obtained by a quasi-potential reduction of the four-dimensional current operator and acts on the light-front valence component of bound or scattering states. A relation between the light-front valence wave function and the four-dimensional Bethe-Salpeter amplitude both for bound or scattering states is also derived, such that the matrix elements of the four-dimensional current operator can be fully recovered from the corresponding light-front ones. The light-front current operator can be perturbatively calculated through a quasi-potential expansion, and the divergence of the proposed current satisfies a Ward-Takahashi identity at any given order of the expansion. In the quasi-potential expansion the instantaneous terms of the fermion propagator are accounted for by the effective interaction and two-body currents. We exemplify our theoretical construction in the Yukawa model in the ladder approximation, investigating in detail the current operator at the lowest nontrivial order of the quasi-potential expansion of the Bethe-Salpeter equation. The explicit realization of the light-front form of the Ward-Takahashi identity is verified. We also show the relevance of instantaneous terms and of the pair contribution to the two-body current and the Ward-Takahashi identity.

Semi-Analytical Analysis of Helium Synthesis in Brane Cosmology

The problem of primordial nucleosynthesis of helium in brane cosmology is studied using a semi-analytical method, where the Fermi-Dirac statistic is ignored. This semi-analytical method agrees with a more complete numerical calculation with a precision of order of 10% or better. The quadratic term for the matter density is the only source considered in the modified Einstein equations predicted by the brane configuration. This hypothesis is justified a posteriori. An agreement between theoretical and observational values for the helium abundance is obtained if the fundamental mass scale in five dimensions is of the order of $M \sim 5\times10^3 GeV$.

An analysis of helium primordial nucleosynthesis with a variable cosmological coupling

The synthesis of helium in the early Universe depends on many input parameters, including the value of the gravitational coupling during the period when the nucleosynthesis takes place. We compute the primordial abundance of helium as function of the gravitational coupling, using a semi-analytical method, in order to track the influence of $G$ in the primordial nucleosynthesis. To be specific, we construct a cosmological model with varying $G$, using the Brans-Dicke theory. The greater the value of $G$ at nucleosynthesis period, the greater the abundance of helium predicted. Using the observational data for the abundance of the primordial helium, constraints for the time variation of $G$ are established.
