Type-II Bäcklund Transformations via Gauge Transformations

The construction of type II Backlund transformation for the sine-Gordon and the Tzitzeica-Bullough-Dodd models are obtained from gauge transformation. An infinite number of conserved quantities are constructed from the defect matrices. This guarantees that the introduction of type II defects for these models does not spoil their integrability. In particular, modified energy and momentum are derived and compared with those presented in recent literature.

Nonvanishing boundary condition for the mKdV hierarchy and the Gardner equation

A Kac-Moody algebra construction for the integrable hierarchy containing the Gardner equation is proposed. Solutions are systematically constructed employing the dressing method and deformed vertex operators which takes into account the nonvanishing boundary value problem for the mKdV hierarchy. Explicit examples are given and besides usual KdV like solitons, our solutions contemplate the large amplitude table-top solitons, kinks, dark solitons, breathers and wobbles.

Grassmanian and Bosonic Thirring Models with Jump Defects

In this paper we discuss the Lax formulation of the Grassmanian and Bosonic Thirring models in the presence of jump defects. For the Grassmanian case, the defect is described by Bäcklund transformation which is responsible for preserving the integrability of the model. We then propose an extension of the Bäcklund transformation for the Bosonic Thirring model which is verified by some Bäcklund transitions like Vacuum-One soliton, One soliton - One soliton, One soliton - Two solitons and Two solitons - Two solitons. The Lax formulation within the space split by the defect leads to the integrability of Bosonic Thirring model.

Integrable Origins of Higher Order Painleve Equations

Higher order Painleve equations invariant under extended affine Weyl groups $A^{(1)}_n$ are obtained through self-similarity limit of a class of pseudo-differential Lax hierarchies with symmetry inherited from the underlying generalized Volterra lattice structure.

Nonautonomous mixed mKdV-sinh-Gordon hierarchy

The construction of a nonautonomous mixed mKdV/sine-Gordon model is proposed by employing an infinite dimensional affine Lie algebraic structure within the zero curvature representation. A systematic construction of soliton solutions is provided by an adaptation of the dressing method which takes into account arbitrary time dependent functions. A particular choice of those arbitrary functions provides an interesting solution describing the transition of a pure mKdV system into a pure sine-Gordon soliton.

Thirring Model with Jump Defect

The purpose of our work is to extend the formulation of classical affine Toda Models in the presence of jump defects to pure fermionic Thirring model. As a first attempt we construct the Lagrangian of the Grassmanian Thirring model with jump defect (of Backlund type) and present its conserved modified momentum and energy expressions giving a first indication of its integrability.

On the symmetric formulation of the Painleve IV equation

Symmetries and solutions of the Painleve IV equation are presented in an alternative framework which provides the bridge between the Hamiltonian formalism and the symmetric Painleve IV equation. This approach originates from a method developed in the setting of pseudo-differential Lax formalism describing AKNS hierarchy with the Darboux-Backlund and Miura transformations. In the Hamiltonian formalism the Darboux-Backlund transformations are introduced as maps between solutions of the Hamilton equations corresponding to two allowed values of Hamiltonian's discrete parameter. The action of the generators of the extended affine Weyl group of the $A_2$ root system is realized in terms of three "square-roots" of such Darboux-Backlund transformations defined on a multiplet of solutions of the Hamilton equations.

Negative Even Grade mKdV Hierarchy and its Soliton Solutions

In this paper we provide an algebraic construction for the negative even mKdV hierarchy which gives rise to time evolutions associated to even graded Lie algebraic structure. We propose a modification of the dressing method, in order to incorporate a non-trivial vacuum configuration and construct a deformed vertex operator for $\hat{sl}(2)$, that enable us to obtain explicit and systematic solutions for the whole negative even grade equations.

Darboux-Backlund Derivation of Rational Solutions of the Painleve IV Equation

Rational solutions of the Painleve IV equation are constructed in the setting of pseudo-differential Lax formalism describing AKNS hierarchy subject to the additional non-isospectral Virasoro symmetry constraint. Convenient Wronskian representations for rational solutions are obtained by successive actions of the Darboux-Backlund transformations.

Super WZNW with Reductions to Supersymmetric and Fermionic Integrable Models

A systematic construction for an action describing a class of supersymmetric integrable models as well as for pure fermionic theories is discussed in terms of the gauged WZNW model associated to twisted affine Kac-Moody algebras. Explicit examples of the $N=1,2$ super sinh(sine)-Gordon models are discussed in detail. Pure fermionic theories arises for cosets $sl(p,1)/sl(p)\otimes u(1)$ when a maximal kernel condition is fulfilled. The integrability condition for such models is discussed and it is shown that the simplest example when $p=2$ leads to the constrained Bukhvostov-Lipatov, Thirring, scalar massive and pseudo-scalar massless Gross-Neveu models.

Integrablility of a Classical $N= 2$ Super Sinh-Gordon Model with Jump Defects

The Lagrangian formalism for the N=2 supersymmetric sinh-Gordon model with a jump defect is considered. The modified conserved momentum and energy are constructed in terms of border functions. The supersymmetric Backlund transformation is given and an one-soliton solution is obtained. The Lax formulation based on the affine super Lie algebra $sl(2,2)$ within the space split by the defect leads to the integrability of the model and henceforth to the existence of an infinite number of constants of motion.

A Class of Soliton Solutions for the N=2 Super mKdV/Sinh-Gordon Hierarchy

Employing the Hirota's method, a class of soliton solutions for the N=2 super mKdV equations is proposed in terms of a single Grassmann parameter. Such solutions are shown to satisfy two copies of N=1 supersymmetric mKdV equations connected by nontrivial algebraic identities. Using the super Miura transformation, we obtain solutions of the N=2 super KdV equations. These are shown to generalize solutions derived previously. By using the mKdV/sinh-Gordon hierarchy properties we generate the solutions of the N=2 super sinh-Gordon as well.

Classical Integrable N=1 and $N= 2$ Super Sinh-Gordon Models with Jump Defects

The structure of integrable field theories in the presence of jump defects is discussed in terms of boundary functions under the Lagrangian formalism. Explicit examples of bosonic and fermionic theories are considered. In particular, the boundary functions for the N=1 and N=2 super sinh-Gordon models are constructed and shown to generate the Backlund transformations for its soliton solutions. As a new and interesting example, a solution with an incoming boson and an outgoing fermion for the N=1 case is presented. The resulting integrable models are shown to be invariant under supersymmetric transformation.

Deformations of N=2 super-conformal algebra and supersymmetric two-component Camassa-Holm equation

This paper is concerned with a link between central extensions of N=2 superconformal algebra and a supersymmetric two-component generalization of the Camassa--Holm equation. Deformations of superconformal algebra give rise to two compatible bracket structures. One of the bracket structures is derived from the central extension and admits a momentum operator which agrees with the Sobolev norm of a coadjoint orbit element. The momentum operator induces via Lenard relations a chain of conserved hamiltonians of the resulting supersymmetric Camassa-Holm hierarchy.

On a negative flow of the AKNS hierarchy and its relation to a two-component Camassa-Holm equation

Different gauge copies of the Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur (AKNS) model labeled by an angle $θ$ are constructed and then reduced to the two-component Camassa--Holm model. Only three different independent classes of reductions are encountered corresponding to the angle $θ$ being 0, $π/2$ or taking any value in the interval $0<θ<π/2$. This construction induces Bäcklund transformations between solutions of the two-component Camassa--Holm model associated with different classes of reduction.
