Machine Learning the Strong Disorder Renormalization Group Method for Disordered Quantum Spin Chains

We train machine learning algorithms to infer the entanglement structure of disordered long-range interacting quantum spin chains by learning from the strong disorder renormalisation group (SDRG) method. The system consists of $S=1/2$-quantum spins coupled by antiferromagnetic power-law interactions with decay exponent $\alpha$ at random positions on a one-dimensional chain. Using SDRG as a physics-informed teacher, we compare a Random Forest classifier as a classical baseline with a graph neural network (GNN) that operates directly on the interaction graph and learns a bond-ranking rule mirroring the SDRG decimation policy. The GNN achieves a disorder-averaged pairing accuracy close to one and reproduces the entanglement entropy $S(\ell)$ in excellent quantitative agreement with SDRG across all subsystem sizes and interaction exponents. RG flow heat maps confirm that the GNN learns the sequential decimation hierarchy rather than merely fitting final-state observables. Finite-temperature entanglement properties are incorporated via the SDRGX framework through a two-stage strategy, using the zero-temperature GNN to generate the RG flow and sampling thermal occupations from the canonical ensemble, yielding results in agreement with both numerical SDRGX and analytical predictions without retraining.

Disorder effects in the $\mathbb{Z}_{3}$ Fock parafermion chain

We study the effects of disorder in a one-dimensional model of $\mathbb{Z}_{3}$ Fock parafermions which can be viewed as a generalization of the prototypical Kitaev chain. Exact diagonalization is employed to determine level statistics, participation ratios, and the dynamics of domain walls. This allows us to identify ergodic as well as finite-size localized phases. In order to distinguish Anderson from many-body localization, we calculate the time evolution of the entanglement entropy in random initial states using tensor networks. We demonstrate that a purely quadratic parafermion model does not feature Anderson but many-body localization due to the nontrivial statistics of the particles.

Entanglement and quantum correlations in the XX spin-$1/2$ honeycomb lattice

The ground state phase diagram of the dimerized spin-1/2 XX honeycomb model in presence of a transverse magnetic field (TF) is known. With the absence of the magnetic field, two quantum phases, namely, the Néel and the dimerized phases have been identified. Moreover, canted Néel and the paramagnetic (PM) phases also emerge by applying the magnetic field. In this paper, using two complementary numerical exact techniques, Lanczos exact diagonalization, and Density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) methods, we study this model by focusing on the quantum correlations, the concurrence, and the quantum discord (QD) among nearest-neighbor spins. We show that the quantum correlations can capture the position of the quantum critical points in the whole range of the ground state phase diagram consistent with previous results. Although the concurrence and the QD are short-range, informative about long-ranged critical correlations. In addition, we address a "magnetic-entanglement" behavior that starts from an entangled field around the saturation field.

Zero-temperature study of a tetrameric spin-$1/2$ chain in a transverse magnetic field

We consider an alternating Heisenberg spin-$1/2$ antiferromagnetic-ferromagnetic ($AF-F$) chain with the space modulated dominant antiferromagnetic exchange and anisotropic ferromagnetic coupling (tetrameric spin-$1/2$ chain). The zero-temperature effect of a symmetry breaking transverse magnetic field on the model is studied numerically. It is found that the anisotropy effect on the ferromagnetic coupling induces two new gapped phases. We identified their orderings as a kind of the stripe-antiferromagnetic phase. As a result, the magnetic phase diagram of the tetrameric chain shows five gapped quantum phases and the system is characterized by four critical fields which mark quantum phase transitions in the ground state of the system with the changing transverse magnetic field. We have also exploited the well known bipartite entanglement (name as concurrence) and global entanglement tools to verify the occurrence of quantum phase transitions and the corresponding critical points.

Quantum Chaos in the Heisenberg Spin Chain: the Effect of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction

Using one-dimensional spin-1/2 systems as prototypes of quantum many-body systems, we study the emergence of quantum chaos. The main purpose of this work is to answer the following question: how does the spin-orbit interaction, as a pure quantum interaction, may lead to the onset of quantum chaos? We consider three integrable spin-1/2 systems: the Ising, the XX, and the XXZ limits, and analyze whether quantum chaos develops or not after the addition of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. We find that, depending on the strength of the anisotropy parameter, the answer is positive for the XXZ and Ising models, while no such evidence is observed for the XX model. We also discuss the relationship between quantum chaos and thermalization.

Investigation of frustrated and dimerized classical Heisenberg chains

We have considered the 1D dimerized frustrated antiferromagnetic (ferromagnetic) Heisenberg model with arbitrary spin $S$. The exact classical magnetic phase diagram at zero temperature is determined using the LK cluster method. Cluster method results, show that the classical ground state phase diagram of the model is very rich including first and second-order phase transitions. In the absence of the dimerization, a second-order phase transition occurs between antiferromagnetic (ferromagnetic) and spiral phases at the critical frustration $α_c=\pm 0.25$. In the vicinity of the critical points $α_c$, the exact classical critical exponent of the spiral order parameter is found 1/2. In the case of dimerized chain ($δ\neq0$), the spiral order shows stability and exists in some part of the ground state phase diagram. We have found two first-order critical lines in the ground state phase diagram. These critical lines separate the antiferromagnetic from spiral phase.

Quantum correlations in the 1D spin-1/2 Ising model with added Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

We have considered the 1D spin-1/2 Ising model with added Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction and presence of a uniform magnetic field. Using the mean-field fermionization approach the energy spectrum in an infinite chain is obtained. The quantum discord (QD) and concurrence between nearest neighbor (NN) spins at finite temperature are specified as a function of mean-field order parameters. A comparison between concurrence and QD is done and differences are obtained. The macroscopic thermodynamical witness is also used to detect quantum entanglement region in solids within our model. We believe our results are useful in the field of the quantum information processing.

Effects of impurity on tunnel magnetoresistance in a ferromagnetic electrode/carbon nanotube/ferromagnetic electrode junctio

Effects of impurity on the spin-dependent transport in a single wall carbon nanotube spin-valve, as ferromagnetic electrode/carbon nanotube/ferromagnetic electrode model junction is numerically investigated. Using a generalized Green's function method and the Landauer-Buttiker formalism, the impurity conditions are determined by randomly substitution of carbon atoms in the honeycomb carbon nanotube lattice by nitrogen and boron atoms. We have found that transport characteristics, including the spin-dependent current and tunnel magnetoresistance are strongly influenced by the impurity effects. We think that the results of the present report could be useful for designing the future spintronic devices.

Generalized Uncertainty Principle and the Ramsauer-Townsend Effect

The scattering cross section of electrons in noble gas atoms exhibits a minimum value at electron energies of approximately 1eV. This is the Ramsauer-Townsend effect. In this letter, we study the Ramsauer-Townsend effect in the framework of the Generalized Uncertainty Principle.

Lowest Order Constrained Variational calculation for Polarized Liquid 3He at Finite Temperature

We have investigated some of the thermodynamic properties of spin polarized liquid $^3\mathrm{He}$ at finite temperature using the lowest order constrained variational method. For this system, the free energy, entropy and pressure are calculated for different values of the density, temperature and polarization. We have also presented the dependence of specific heat, saturation density and incompressibility on the temperature and polarization.
