Interior and boundary regularity results for strongly nonhomogeneous $p,q$-fractional problems

In this article, we deal with the global regularity of weak solutions to a class of problems involving the fractional $(p,q)$-Laplacian, denoted by $(-Δ)^{s_1}_{p}+(-Δ)^{s_2}_{q}$, for $s_2, s_1\in (0,1)$ and $1<p,q<\infty$. We establish completely new Hölder continuity results, up to the boundary, for the weak solutions to fractional $(p,q)$-problems involving singular as well as regular nonlinearities. Moreover, as applications to boundary estimates, we establish new Hopf type maximum principle and strong comparison principle in both situations.

Multiplicity for a strongly singular quasilinear problem via bifurcation theory

A $p$-Laplacian elliptic problem in the presence of both strongly singular and $(p-1)$-superlinear nonlinearities is considered. We employ bifurcation theory, approximation techniques and sub-supersolution method to establish the existence of an unbounded branch of positive solutions, which is bounded in positive $λ-$direction and bifurcates from infinity at $λ=0$. As consequence of the bifurcation result, we determine intervals of existence, nonexistence and, in particular cases, global multiplicity.

Regularity results for a class of nonlinear fractional Laplacian and singular problems

In this article, we investigate the existence, uniqueness, nonexistence, and regularity of weak solutions to the nonlinear fractional elliptic problem of type $(P)$ (see below) involving singular nonlinearity and singular weights in smooth bounded domain. We prove the existence of weak solution in $W_{loc}^{s,p}(Ω)$ via approximation method. Establishing a new comparison principle of independent interest, we prove the uniqueness of weak solution for $0 \leq δ< 1+s- \frac{1}{p}$ and furthermore the nonexistence of weak solution for $δ\geq sp.$ Moreover, by virtue of barrier arguments we study the behavior of minimal weak solution in terms of distance function. Consequently, we prove Hölder regularity up to the boundary and optimal Sobolev regularity for minimal weak solutions.

A qualitative study of (p,q) Singular parabolic equations: local existence, Sobolev regularity and asymptotic behaviour

The purpose of the article is to study the existence, regularity, stabilization and blow up results of weak solution to the following parabolic $(p,q)$-singular equation: \begin{equation*} (P_t)\; \left\{\begin{array}{rllll} u_t-Δ_{p}u -Δ_{q}u & = \vth \; u^{-\de}+ f(x,u), \; u>0 \text{ in } \Om\times (0,T), \\ u&=0 \quad \text{ on } \pa\Om\times (0,T), u(x,0)&= u_0(x) \; \text{ in }\Om, \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $\Om$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$ with $C^2$ boundary $\pa\Om$, $1 0$, $N\ge 2$ and $\vth>0$ is a parameter. Moreover, we assume that $f:\Om\times [0,\infty) \to \mb R$ is a bounded below Carathéodory function, locally Lipschitz with respect to the second variable uniformly in $x\in\Om$ and $u_0\in L^\infty(\Om)\cap W^{1,p}_0(\Om)$. We distinguish the cases as $q$-subhomogeneous and $q$-superhomogeneous depending on the growth of $f$ (hereafter we will drop the term $q$). In the subhomogeneous case, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution to problem $(P_t)$ for $\de<2+1/(p-1)$. For this, we first study the stationary problems corresponding to $(P_t)$ by using the method of sub and super solutions and subsequently employing implicit Euler method, we obtain the existence of a solution to $(P_t)$. Furthermore, in this case, we prove the stabilization result, that is, the solution $u(t)$ of $(P_t)$ converges to $u_\infty$, the unique solution to the stationary problem, in $L^\infty(\Om)$ as $t\ra\infty$. For the superhomogeneous case, we prove the local existence theorem by taking help of nonlinear semigroup theory. Subsequently, we prove finite time blow up of solution to problem $(P_t)$ for small parameter $\vartheta>0$ in the case $\de\leq 1$ and for all $\vth>0$ in the case $\de>1$.

Nondegeneracy of solutions for a critical Hartree equation

The aim of this paper is to prove the nondegeneracy of the unique positive solutions for the following critical Hartree type equations when $μ>0$ is close to $0$, $$ -Δu=\left(I_μ\ast u^{2^{\ast}_μ}\right)u^{{2}^{\ast}_μ-1},~~x\in\mathbb{R}^{N}, $$ where $ I_μ(x)=\frac{Γ(\fracμ{2})}{Γ(\frac{N-μ}{2})π^{\frac{N}{2}}2^{N-μ}|x|^μ} $ is the Riesz potential and $2^{\ast}_μ=\frac{2{N-μ}}{N-2}$ is the upper critical exponent due to the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality.

Singular doubly nonlocal elliptic problems with Choquard type critical growth nonlinearities

The theory of elliptic equations involving singular nonlinearities is well studied topic but the interaction of singular type nonlinearity with nonlocal nonlinearity in elliptic problems has not been investigated so far. In this article, we study the very singular and doubly nonlocal singular problem $(P_λ)$(See below). Firstly, we establish a very weak comparison principle and the optimal Sobolev regularity. Next using the critical point theory of non-smooth analysis and the geometry of the energy functional, we establish the global multiplicity of positive weak solutions.

Doubly nonlinear equation involving $p(x)$-homogeneous operators: local existence, uniqueness and global behaviour

In this work, we investigate the qualitative properties as uniqueness, regularity and stabilization of the weak solution to the nonlinear parabolic problem involving general $p(x)$-homogeneous operators: \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{alignedat}{2} {} \frac{q}{2q-1}\partial_t(u^{2q-1}) -\nabla.\, a(x, \nabla u) & {}= f(x,u) + h(t,x) u^{q-1} && \quad\mbox{ in } \, (0,T) \times Ω; u & {}> 0 && \quad\mbox{ in }\, (0,T) \times Ω; u & {}= 0 && \quad\mbox{ on }\, (0,T) \times \partialΩ; u(0,.)&{}= u_0 && \quad\ \mbox{in}\, \ Ω. \end{alignedat} \right. \end{equation*} Thanks to the Picone's identity obtained in [10], we prove new results about comparison principles which yield a priori estimates, positivity and uniqueness of weak solutions.

Regularity results on a class of doubly nonlocal problems

The purpose of this article is twofold. First, an issue of regularity of weak solution to the problem $(P)$ (See below) is addressed. Secondly, we investigate the question of $H^s$ versus $C^0$- weighted minimizers of the functional associated to problem $(P)$ and then give applications to existence and multiplicity results.

Fractional Hamiltonian systems with critical exponential growth

In this paper, we study the following nonlocal nonautonomous Hamiltonian system on whole $\mathbb R$ $$ \left\{\begin{array}{ll} (-Δ)^\frac12~ u +u=Q(x) g(v)&\quad\mbox{in } \mathbb R,\\ (-Δ)^\frac12~ v+v = P(x)f(u)&\quad\mbox{in } \mathbb R, \end{array}\right. $$ where $(-Δ)^\frac12$ is {the} square root Laplacian operator. We assume that the nonlinearities $f, g$ have critical growth at $+\infty$ in the sense of Trudinger-Moser inequality and the nonnegative weights $P(x)$ and $Q(x)$ vanish at $+\infty$. Using suitable variational method combined with {the} generalized linking theorem, we obtain the existence of {at least one} positive solution for the above system.

A picone Identity for variable exponent operators and applications

In this work, we establish a new Picone identity for anisotropic quasilinear operators, such as the $p(x)$-Laplacian defined as $\mbox{div}(|\nabla u|^{p(x)-2} \nabla u).$ Our extension provides a new version of the Diaz-Saa inequality and new uniqueness results to some quasilinear elliptic equations with variable exponents. This new Picone identity can be also used to prove some accretivity property to a class of fast diffusion equations involving variable exponents. Using this, we prove for this class of parabolic equations a new weak comparison principle.

n-Kirchhoff Choquard equations with exponenetial nonlinearity

This article deals with the study of the following Kirchhoff equation with exponential nonlinearity of Choquard type (see $(KC)$ below). We use the variational method in the light of Moser-Trudinger inequality to show the existence of weak solutions to $(KC)$. Moreover, analyzing the fibering maps and minimizing the energy functional over suitable subsets of the Nehari manifold, we prove existence and multiplicity of weak solutions to convex-concave problem $(\mathcal{P}_{\la,M})$ below.

Global and blow-up radial solutions for quasilinear elliptic systems arising in the study of viscous, heat conducting fluids

We study positive radial solutions of quasilinear elliptic systems with a gradient term in the form $$ \left\{ \begin{aligned} Δ_{p} u&=v^{m}|\nabla u|^α&&\quad\mbox{ in }Ω,\\ Δ_{p} v&=v^β|\nabla u|^{q} &&\quad\mbox{ in }Ω, \end{aligned} \right. $$ where $Ω\subset\R^N$ $(N\geq 2)$ is either a ball or the whole space, $1 0$, $α\geq 0$, $0\leq β\leq m$ and $(p-1-α)(p-1-β)-qm\neq 0$. We first classify all the positive radial solutions in case $Ω$ is a ball, according to their behavior at the boundary. Then we obtain that the system has non-constant global solutions if and only if $0\leq α<p-1$ and $mq< (p-1-α)(p-1-β)$. Finally, we describe the precise behavior at infinity for such positive global radial solutions by using properties of three component cooperative and irreducible dynamical systems.

Existence of three positive solutions for a nonlocal singular dirichlet boundary problem

In this article, we prove the existence of at least three positive solutions for the following nonlocal singular problem \begin{equation*} (P_\la)\left\{ \begin{split} (-\De)^su &= \la\frac{f(u)}{u^q}, \; \; u>0 \;\; \text{in}\;\; \Om,\\ u &= 0\;\; \text{in}\;\; \mb R^n \setminus \Om \end{split} \right. \end{equation*} where $(-\De)^s$ denotes the fractional Laplace operator for $s\in (0,1)$, $n>2s$, $q \in (0,1)$, $\la>0$ and $\Om$ is smooth bounded domain in $\mb R^n$. Here $f :[0,\infty) \to [0,\infty)$ is a continuous nondecreasing map satisfying $\lim\limits_{u\to \infty}\frac{f(u)}{u^{q+1}}=0$. We show that under certain additional assumptions on $f$, $(P_\la)$ possesses at least three distinct solutions for a certain range of $\la$. We use the method of sub-supersolutions and a critical point theorem by Amann \cite{amann} to prove our results. Moreover, we prove a new existence result for a suitable infinite semipositone nonlocal problem which played a crucial role to obtain our main result and is of independent interest. \medskip

A p(x)-version of Diaz-Saa Inequality and some applications

The main result of this work is a new extension of the well known inequality by Diaz and Saa which, in our case, involves an anisotropic operator, such as the p(x)-Laplacian. Our present extension of this inequality enables us to establish several new results on the uniqueness of solutions and comparison principles for some anisotropic quasilinear elliptic equations. Our proofs take advantage of certain convexity properties of the energy functional associated with the p(x)-Laplacian.

Positive solutions to a fractional equation with singular nonlinearity

In this paper, we study the positive solutions to the following singular and non local elliptic problem posed in a bounded and smooth domain $Ω\subset \R^N$, $N> 2s$: % \begin{eqnarray*} (P_λ)\left\{\begin{array}{lll} &(-Δ)^s u=λ(K(x)u^{-δ}+f(u))\mbox{ in }Ω&u>0 \mbox{ in }Ω& u\equiv\, 0\mbox{ in }\R^N\backslashΩ. \end{array}\right. \end{eqnarray*} % Here $0 0$, $λ>0$ and $f\,:\, \R^+\to\R^+$ is a positive $C^2$ function. $K\,:\, Ω\to \R^+$ is a Hölder continuous function in $Ω$ which behave as ${\rm dist}(x,\partialΩ)^{-β}$ near the boundary with $0\leq β<2s$. First, for any $δ>0$ and for $λ>$ small enough, we prove the existence of solutions to $(P_λ)$. Next, for a suitable range of values of $δ$, we show the existence of an unbounded connected branch of solutions to $(P_λ)$ emanating from the trivial solution at $λ=0$. For a certain class of nonlinearities $f$, we derive a global multiplicity result that extends results proved in \cite{peral-al}. To establish the results, we prove new properties which are of independent interest and deal with the behavior and Hölder regularity of solutions to $(P_λ)$.

Critical growth fractional systems with exponential nonlinearity

We study the existence of positive solutions for the system of fractional elliptic equations of the type, \begin{equation*} \begin{array}{rl} (-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} u &=\frac{p}{p+q}λf(x)|u|^{p-2}u|v|^q + h_1(u,v) e^{u^2+v^2},\;\textrm{in}\; (-1, 1),\\ (-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}} v &=\frac{q}{p+q}λf(x)|u|^p|v|^{q-2}v + h_2(u,v) e^{u^2+v^2},\;\textrm{in}\; (-1, 1), u,v&>0 \;\textrm{in } \; (-1,1), u&=v=0 \; \text{in} \; \mathbb R\setminus (-1,1). \end{array} \end{equation*} where {$1 2}$. Here $(-Δ)^{\frac{1}{2}}$ is the fractional Laplacian operator. We show the existence of multiple solutions for suitable range of $λ$ by analyzing the fibering maps and the corresponding Nehari manifold. We also study the existence of positive solutions for a superlinear system with critical growth exponential nonlinearity.

Existence and regularity of weak solutions for singular elliptic equations

In the present paper we investigate the following semilinear singular elliptic problem: \begin{equation*} (\rm P)\qquad \left \{\begin{array}{l} -Δu = \dfrac{p(x)}{u^α}\quad \text{in} Ω\\ u = 0\ \text{on} Ω,\ u>0 \text{on} Ω, \end{array} \right . \end{equation*} where $Ω$ is a regular bounded domain of $\mathbb R^{N}$, $α\in\mathbb R$, $p\in C(Ω)$ which behaves as $d(x)^{-β}$ as $x\to\partialΩ$ with $d$ the distance function up to the boundary and $0\leq β<2$. We discuss below the existence, the uniqueness and the stability of the weak solution $u$ of the problem (P). We also prove accurate estimates on the gradient of the solution near the boundary $\partial Ω$. Consequently, we can prove that the solution belongs to $W^{1,q§}_0(Ω)$ for $1 1$.
