Integral period relations and congruences

Under relatively mild and natural conditions, we establish an integral period relations for the (real or imaginary) quadratic base change of an elliptic cusp form. This answers a conjecture of Hida regarding the {\it congruence number} controlling the congruences between this base change and other eigenforms which are not base change. As a corollary, we establish the Bloch-Kato conjecture for adjoint modular Galois representations twisted by an even quadratic character. In the odd case, we formulate a conjecture linking the degree two topological period attached to the base change Bianchi modular form, the cotangent complex of the corresponding Hecke algebra and the archimedean regulator attached to some Beilinson-Flach element.

Simplicial Galois Deformation Functors

In a recent work of Galatius and Venkatesh, the authors showed the importance of studying simplicial generalizations of Galois deformation functors. They established a precise link between the simplicial universal deformation ring $R$ prorepresenting such a deformation problem (with local conditions) and a derived Hecke algebra. Here we focus on the algebraic part of their study which we complete in two directions. First, we introduce the notion of simplicial pseudo-characters and prove relations between the (derived) deformation functors of simplicial pseudo-characters and that of simplicial Galois representations. Secondly, we define the relative cotangent complex of a simplicial deformation functor and, in the ordinary case, we relate it to the relative complex of ordinary Galois cochains. Finally, we recall how the latter can be used to relate the fundamental group of $R$ to the ordinary dual adjoint Selmer group, by a homomorphism already introduced in Galatius-Venkatesh and studied in greater generality in Tilouine-Urban.

Conjecture de type de Serre et formes compagnons pour GSp_4

We present a Serre-type conjecture on the modularity of four-dimensional symplectic mod p Galois representations. We assume that the Galois representation is irreducible and odd (in the symplectic sense). The modularity condition is formulated using the etale and the algebraic de Rham cohomology of Siegel modular varieties of level prime to p. We concentrate on the case when the Galois representation is ordinary at p and we give a corresponding list of Serre weights. When the representation is moreover tamely ramified at p, we conjecture that all weights of this list are modular, otherwise we describe a subset of weights on the list that should be modular. We propose a construction of de Rham cohomology classes using the dual BGG complex, which should realise some of these weights.

Arithmetic Hilbert modular varieties and forms for $Γ_1(c,n)$

We recall first the analytic theory of the Hilbert modular varieties of level $Γ_1(\mathfrak{c},\mathfrak{n})$ and their compactifications. We construct arithmetic toroidal compactifications of the universal Hilbert-Blumenthal abelian variety (and of its fiber products), over the compactifications of the Hilbert modular variety constructed by the first author. We give several applications related to Hodge theory, Hilbert-Jacobi modular forms and Hilbert modular forms of half-integer weight.

Several variable p-adic families of Siegel-Hilbert cusp eigensystems and their Galois representations

Let F be a totally real field and G=GSp(4)_{/F}. In this paper, we show under a weak assumption that, given a Hecke eigensystem lambda which is (p,P)-ordinary for a fixed parabolic P in G, there exists a several variable p-adic family underline{lambda} of Hecke eigensystems (all of them (p,P)-nearly ordinary) which contains lambda. The assumption is that lambda is cohomological for a regular coefficient system. If F=Q, the number of variables is three. Moreover, in this case, we construct the three variable p-adic family rho_{underline{lambda}} of Galois representations associated to underline{lambda}. Finally, under geometric assumptions (which would be satisfied if one proved that the Galois representations in the family come from Grothendieck motives), we show that rho_{underline{lambda}} is nearly ordinary for the dual parabolic of P. p-adic measures and square roots of triple product L-functions

Let p be a prime number, and let f, g, and h be three modular forms of weights $κ$, $λ$, and $μ$ for $SL(2,\Bbb{Z})$. We suppose $κ\geq λ+ μ$. In joint work with Kudla, one of the authors obtained a formula for the normalized {\it square root} of the value at $s = {1/2}(κ+ λ+ μ- 2)$ (the {\it central critical value}) of the triple product $L(s,f,g,h)$. We apply this formula, letting $f$ (and thus $κ$) vary in a $p$-adic analytic family ${\bold f}$ of ordinary modular forms (a Hida family). By modifying Hida's construction of the $p$-adic Rankin-Selberg convolution, we obtain a generalized $p$-adic measure whose associated analytic function gives a $p$-adic interpolation of the square roots of the central critical values of $L(s,f,g,h)$, normalized by certain universal correction factors. The archimedean correction factor is not determined explicitly. This is an example of what appears to be a very general phenomenon of $p$-adic interpolation of normalized square roots of $L$-functions along the so-called "anti-cyclotomic hyperplane." We note that the $p$-adic triple product itself has not been constructed in the half-space $κ\geq λ+ μ$.
