Crystal bases of modified quantized enveloping algebras and a double RSK correspondence

The crystal base of the modified quantized enveloping algebras of type $A_{+\infty}$ or $A_\infty$ is realized as a set of integral bimatrices. It is obtained by describing the decomposition of the tensor product of a highest weight crystal and a lowest weight crystal into extremal weight crystals, and taking its limit using a tableaux model of extremal weight crystals. This realization induces in a purely combinatorial way a bicrystal structure of the crystal base of the modified quantized enveloping algebras and hence its Peter-Weyl type decomposition generalizing the classical RSK correspondence.

Kostant homology formulas for oscillator modules of Lie superalgebras

We provide a systematic approach to obtain formulas for characters and Kostant ${\mathfrak u}$-homology groups of the oscillator modules of the finite dimensional general linear and ortho-symplectic superalgebras, via Howe dualities for infinite dimensional Lie algebras. Specializing these Lie superalgebras to Lie algebras, we recover, in a new way, formulas for Kostant homology groups of unitarizable highest weight representations of Hermitian symmetric pairs. In addition, two new reductive dual pairs related to the above-mentioned ${\mathfrak u}$-homology computation are worked out.

Demazure crystals of generalized Verma modules and a flagged RSK correspondence

We prove that the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth correspondence is a $\gl_{\infty}$-crystal isomorphism between two realizations of the crystal graph of a generalized Verma module with respect to a maximal parabolic subalgebra of $\gl_{\infty}$. %This extends the previously known result that %the RSK correspondence is an isomorphism of bicrystals or double %crystals. A flagged version of the RSK correspondence is derived in a natural way by computing a Demazure crystal graph of a generalized Verma module. As an application, we discuss a relation between a Demazure crystal and plane partitions with a bounded condition.

Howe duality and Kostant Homology Formula for infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebras

Using Howe duality we compute explicitly Kostant-type homology groups for a wide class of representations of the infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebra $\hat{\frak{gl}}_{\infty|\infty}$ and its classical subalgebras at positive integral levels. We also obtain Kostant-type homology formulas for the Lie algebra $ widehat{\frak{gl}}_\infty$ at negative integral levels. We further construct resolutions in terms of generalized Verma modules for these representations.

A BGG-type resolution for tensor modules over general linear superalgebra

We construct a Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand type resolution in terms of direct sums of Kac modules for the finite-dimensional irreducible tensor representations of the general linear superalgebra. As a consequence it follows that the unique maximal submodule of a corresponding reducible Kac module is generated by its proper singular vector.

Crystal graphs for general linear Lie superalgebras and quasi-symmetric functions

We give a new representation theoretic interpretation of the ring of quasi-symmetric functions. This is obtained by showing that the super analogue of the Gessel's fundamental quasi-symmetric function can be realized as the character of an irreducible crystal for the Lie superalgebra $\frak{gl}_{n|n}$ associated to its non-standard Borel subalgebra with a maximal number of odd isotropic simple roots. We also present an algebraic characterization of these super quasi-symmetric functions.

A combinatorial proof of a Weyl type formula for hook Schur polynomials

In this paper, we present a simple combinatorial proof of a Weyl type formula for hook Schur polynomials, which has been obtained by using a Kostant type cohomology formula for $\frak{gl}_{m|n}$. In general, we can obtain in a combinatorial way a Weyl type formula for various highest weight representations of a Lie superalgebra, which together with a general linear algebra forms a Howe dual pair.

Rational semistandard tableaux and character formula for the Lie superalgebra $\hat{\frak{gl}}_{\infty|\infty}$

A new combinatorial interpretation of the Howe dual pair $(\hat{\frak{gl}}_{\infty|\infty},\frak{gl}_n)$ acting on an infinite dimensional Fock space $\frak{F}^n$ of level $n$ is presented. The character of a quasi-finite irreducible highest weight representation of $\hat{\frak{gl}}_{\infty|\infty}$ occurring in $\frak{F}^n$ is realized in terms of certain bitableaux of skew shapes. We study a general combinatorics of these bitableaux, including Robinson-Schensted-Knuth correspondence and Littlewood-Richardson rule, and then its dual relation with the rational semistandard tableaux for $\frak{gl}_n$. This result also explains other Howe dual pairs including $\frak{gl}_n$.

Crystal graphs for Lie superalgebras and Cauchy decomposition

We discuss Cauchy type decompositions of crystal graphs for general linear Lie superalgebras. More precisely, we consider bicrystal graph structures on various sets of matrices of non-negative integers, and obtain their decompositions with explicit combinatorial isomorphisms.

Crystal bases of the Fock space representations and string functions

Let $U_q(\frak{g})$ a the quantum affine algebra of type $A_n^{(1)}$, $A_{2n-1}^{(2)}$, $A_{2n}^{(2)}$, $B_n^{(1)}$, $D_n^{(1)}$ and $D_{n+1}^{(2)}$, and let $\mathcal{F}(Λ)$ be the Fock space representation for a level 1 dominant integral weight $Λ$. Using the crystal basis of $\mathcal{F}(Λ)$ and its characterization in terms of abacus, we construct an explicit bijection between the set of weight vectors in $\mathcal{F}(Λ)_{λ-mδ}$ ($m\geq 0$) for a maximal weight $λ$ and the set of certain ordered sequences of partitions. As a corollary, we obtain the string function of the basic representation $V(Λ)$.

Fock space representations of quantum affine algebras and generalized Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon algorithm

We construct the Fock space representations of classical quantum affine algebras using combinatorics of Young walls. We also show that the crystal graphs of the Fock space representations can be realized as the abstract crystal consisting of proper Young walls. Finally, we give a generalized version of Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon algorithm for computing the global bases of the basic representations of classical quantum affine algebras.

Low Energy Effective Hamiltonian for the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect

A low energy effective Hamiltonian for the fractional quantum Hall effect is obtained by using irreducible representations of the symmetry group. It is found that the model described by the effective Hamiltonian is similar to the Heisenberg spin chain. Symmetries of the effective Hamiltonian are studied in order to decompose the relevant Hilbert space. This decomposition will be useful for further numerical analysis on the gap of the quantum Hall system.

Graded Lie Superalgebras, Supertrace Formula, and Orbit Lie Superalgebras

Let $Γ$ be a countable abelian semigroup and $A$ be a countable abelian group satisfying a certain finiteness condition. Suppose that a group $G$ acts on a $(Γ\times A)$-graded Lie superalgebra ${\frak L}=\bigoplus_{(α,a) \in Γ\times A} {\frak L}_{(α,a)}$ by Lie superalgebra automorphisms preserving the $(Γ\times A)$-gradation. In this paper, we show that the Euler-Poincaré principle yields the generalized denominator identity for ${\frak L}$ and derive a closed form formula for the supertraces $\text{str}(g|{\frak L}_{(α,a)})$ for all $g\in G$,$(α,a) \in Γ\times A$. We discuss the applications of our supertrace formula to various classes of infinite dimensional Lie superalgebras such as free Lie superalgebras and generalized Kac-Moody superalgebras. In particular, we determine the decomposition of free Lie superalgebras into a direct sum of irreducible $GL(n) \times GL(k)$-modules, and the supertraces of the Monstrous Lie superalgebras with group actions. Finally, we prove that the generalized characters of Verma modules and the irreducible highest weight modules over a generalized Kac-Moody superalgebra ${\frak g}$ corresponding to the Dynkin diagram automorphism $σ$ are the same as the usual characters of Verma modules and irreducible highest weight modules over the orbit Lie superalgebra $\breve{\frak g}={\frak g}(σ)$ determined by $σ$.
