MATHENA: Mamba-based Architectural Tooth Hierarchical Estimator and Holistic Evaluation Network for Anatomy

Dental diagnosis from Orthopantomograms (OPGs) requires coordination of tooth detection, caries segmentation (CarSeg), anomaly detection (AD), and dental developmental staging (DDS). We propose Mamba-based Architectural Tooth Hierarchical Estimator and Holistic Evaluation Network for Anatomy (MATHENA), a unified framework leveraging Mamba's linear-complexity State Space Models (SSM) to address all four tasks. MATHENA integrates MATHE, a multi-resolution SSM-driven detector with four-directional Vision State Space (VSS) blocks for O(N) global context modeling, generating per-tooth crops. These crops are processed by HENA, a lightweight Mamba-UNet with a triple-head architecture and Global Context State Token (GCST). In the triple-head architecture, CarSeg is first trained as an upstream task to establish shared representations, which are then frozen and reused for downstream AD fine-tuning and DDS classification via linear probing, enabling stable, efficient learning. We also curate PARTHENON, a benchmark comprising 15,062 annotated instances from ten datasets. MATHENA achieves 93.78% mAP@50 in tooth detection, 90.11% Dice for CarSeg, 88.35% for AD, and 72.40% ACC for DDS.

Distributed Hierarchical Machine Learning for Joint Resource Allocation and Slice Selection in In-Network Edge Systems

The Metaverse promises immersive, real-time experiences; however, meeting its stringent latency and resource demands remains a major challenge. Conventional optimization techniques struggle to respond effectively under dynamic edge conditions and high user loads. In this study, we explore a slice-enabled in-network edge architecture that combines computing-in-the-network (COIN) with multi-access edge computing (MEC). In addition, we formulate the joint problem of wireless and computing resource management with optimal slice selection as a mixed-integer nonlinear program (MINLP). Because solving this model online is computationally intensive, we decompose it into three sub-problems (SP1) intra-slice allocation, (SP2) inter-slice allocation, and (SP3) offloading decision and train a distributed hierarchical DeepSets-based model (DeepSets-S) on optimal solutions obtained offline. In the proposed model, we design a slack-aware normalization mechanism for a shared encoder and task-specific decoders, ensuring permutation equivariance over variable-size wireless device (WD) sets. The learned system produces near-optimal allocations with low inference time and maintains permutation equivariance over variable-size device sets. Our experimental results show that DeepSets-S attains high tolerance-based accuracies on SP1/SP2 (Acc1 = 95.26% and 95.67%) and improves multiclass offloading accuracy on SP3 (Acc = 0.7486; binary local/offload Acc = 0.8824). Compared to exact solvers, the proposed approach reduces the execution time by 86.1%, while closely tracking the optimal system cost (within 6.1% in representative regimes). Compared with baseline models, DeepSets-S consistently achieves higher cost ratios and better utilization across COIN/MEC resources.

Graph Neural Network-based Spectral Filtering Mechanism for Imbalance Classification in Network Digital Twin

Graph neural networks are gaining attention in fifth-generation (5G) core network digital twins, which are data-driven complex systems with numerous components. Analyzing these data can be challenging due to rare failure types, leading to imbalanced classification in multiclass settings. Digital twins of 5G networks increasingly employ graph classification as the main method for identifying failure types. However, the skewed distribution of failure occurrences is a significant class-imbalance problem that prevents practical graph data mining. Previous studies have not sufficiently addressed this complex problem. This paper, proposes class-Fourier GNN (CF-GNN) that introduces a class-oriented spectral filtering mechanism to ensure precise classification by estimating a unique spectral filter for each class. This work employs eigenvalue and eigenvector spectral filtering to capture and adapt to variations in minority classes, ensuring accurate class-specific feature discrimination, and adept at graph representation learning for complex local structures among neighbors in an end-to-end setting. The extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed CF-GNN could help create new techniques for enhancing classifiers and investigate the characteristics of the multiclass imbalanced data in a network digital twin system.

A Data-Driven Digital Twin Network Architecture in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) Applications

A new network named the "Digital Twin Network" (DTN) uses the "Digital Twin" (DT) technology to produce virtual twins of real things. The network load and size continue to grow as a result of the development of 5G, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing technology as well as the advent of new network services. As a result, network operation and maintenance are becoming more difficult. A digital twin connects the real and digital worlds, exchanging data in both directions and revealing information about the progression of a network process. The framework of the Industrial Internet of Things, data processing, and digital twin network is taken into consideration in this article as a key aspect. This paper proposed a data-driven digital twin network architecture, that comprises the physical network layer (PNL), the digital twin layer(DTL), the application layer (AL), and what those layers encompass and beyond. Also, we presented DTN data types and protocols to be used for data integration.
