Nucleon matrix elements of axial anomaly, axial currents and pseudoscalar currents in the QCD sum rule

We have analyzed one-nucleon matrix elements of current-current correlators; the currents consist of pseudoscalar octet, isovector and isoscalar currents, axial anomaly, and axial isovector and isoscalar currents. Using QCD sum rules, the coupling constants of nucleon with each of these currents have been expressed in terms of nucleon matrix elements of quark, gluon and quark-gluon composite operators and moments of parton distribution function. On the phenomenological side, contribution from the non-diagonal matrix elements of operators between nucleon and its excited states or continuum states have also been accounted for. For the pseudoscalar coupling constants of the nucleon two expressions have been obtained in which one of them consists of only moments of parton distribution function but yielding approximately same numerical result as the other one. Of particular interest is the nucleon matrix element of axial anomaly which has been largely ignored in the current literature.

Pion couplings with low-lying nucleon resonances

We have calculated coupling constants of a neutral pion with the lowest two nucleon resonances. This includes both the diagonal as well as non-diagonal coupling constants involving a nucleon resonance and a nucleon. For this, we first calculate vacuum-to-pion correlation function of the interpolating fields of two nucleons and then take its matrix elements with respect to a nucleon spinor and/or a nucleon resonance spinor(s). Using different QCD sum rules obtained from different matrix elements we eliminate unwanted coupling constants and solve for the desired ones. This is a simple extension of the projected correlation function approach used in the literature where we use multiple of states involving those of a nucleon and its resonances. We have also checked the stability of our results with respect to variation of different QCD and phenomenological input parameters.

Light quark pseudoscalar densities and anomaly matrix elements for η and η' mesons

Matrix elements of flavor-diagonal light quark pseudoscalar densities and axial anomaly operators between vacuum and η and η' meson states have been determined. This has been done by evaluating current-current correlators of octet-octet and octet-singlet axial currents using QCD sum rules. The numerical values obtained for the matrix elements compare well with those obtained in the current literature.
