Relativistic slowing down shocks as sources of GRB lag

We are demonstrating in what way slowing down ultrarelativistic shocks are creating GRB lags. The reflection process produces positive lags and Cracow acceleration process negative lags. We present a way the seed particles are injected into relativistic jets.

Cosmic rays acceleration at ultrarelativistic subshocks

We present the model of cosmic rays acceleration at ultrarelativistic subshocks and confront it with the observations of gamma-ray bursts and blazars. We investigate cosmic rays acceleration in shocks with Lorentz factors in the range 3 - 40. We show that fluctuations of the magnetic field downstream of the shock do not play an important role in the acceleration process. Results of numerical simulations for shocks with considered Lorentz factors and perpendicular magnetic field inclinations are presented. We fit the derived particle energy spectral index dependence on fluctuations of the magnetic field upstream and Lorentz factor of the shock with a function.

Acceleration time scale in an ultrarelativistic shock

The acceleration mechanism at ultrarelativistic shocks is investigated using the Monte Carlo simulations. We apply a method of discrete small amplitude particle momentum scattering to reproduce highly anisotropic conditions at the shock and carefully describe the acceleration mechanism. The obtained acceleration times equal $1.0 r_{g}/c$ if the spectral index reach the value of 2.2, independent of physical conditions in the shock. Some other parameters of the acceleration process are also provided.

Cosmic ray acceleration at relativistic and ultrarelativistic shock waves

Using the Monte Carlo simulations we apply a method of discrete small amplitude particle momentum scattering to reproduce highly anisotropic conditions at relativistic shocks. We discusse acceleration times scales in relativistic shocks. Next, we describe newly found acceleration mechanism at ultrarelativistic shocks. The universal spectral index and the acceleration time for the shocks are given. In the end reflections from ultrarelativistic shocks are considered.
